Over the past year, the efforts in Wisconsin have mobilized a new wave of activists. And the fight continues in Milwaukee, as the workers of Palermo’s Pizza are fighting to form a union in order to secure safe working conditions – and facing intimidation and threats by the frozen pizza company. The company has even resorted to threatening employees with immigration audits in order to intimidate and frighten workers of all backgrounds. In the face of unlawful efforts to interfere with their efforts to organize, these courageous, hard-working employees are standing strong in solidarity. The Palermo’s Pizza workers call on pizza lovers everywhere to contact Palermo’s Pizza and tell them that customers won’t buy their pizza unless the company stops the unlawful intimidation campaign and attacks on workers’ rights.

As it now stands, only the first 110,000 of a worker's wages are Social Secuirty taxable. All of a worker's are Medicare taxable. So if someone makes 110,000 maximum in a year, all of those wages are Social Secuirty taxable. But - if someone else makes 500,000 in a year, only 110,000 of those wages are Social Security taxable. Why? Makes no sense. If all wages were Social Security taxable and the government kept their hands off this money and used it for Social Security only, I believe the Social Security program would be solvent.

The American public is becoming fat, if not morbidly obese, mostly due to our food choices. But in our food choices, especially the ones promoted as healthy, there are hidden super sugars that people could unwittingly be allergic to or that tend to compromise how our system produces and deals with hormones, which can cause more weight gain or prevent weight loss. The government needs to regulate what, and how much of the these ingredients should be in our food supply.

The Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act of 2007 is due to expire in December of 2012. Even people who have managed to maintain good credit are finding that their homes may be worth as much as one third of their mortgage. We need to make this Act permanent for all those homeowners who are struggling with their mortgages and may ultimately end of losing their homes, thus inccurring a new tax debt for nonpayment of the mortgage of tens of thousandsor even a hundred thousand dollars or more.

If RICO gets passed on the State level I assure you all our black children will be at risk for unfair targeting under this act. Illinois is a corrupt state as it is and with entrusting them with this type of power it will surely be abused. Every black person will be labeled a "known gang member" and would then be subject to prosecution under this law. Sign to stop this NOW!!!

We have seen many agile people walking briskly to and from their vehicles. They poses a parking permit only because they are over 50 and have asked their doctor for one or they are using their parent's permit. I can't tell you how many times I have had to leave the supermarket and other shops because all of the handicap parking spots are filled. I have observed that at least 80% of the spots are occupied by people wjho simply don't need to park in them. If they can walk all over a superstore they can certainly walk from a regular parking spot. Strangely, these same people never use the electric shopping carts. Revoke all handicap parking permits in New York State and replace them with permits that have more stringent requirements for doctors who issue them.

The Benicia school district has decided to take AP Art History away from Pat Thomas. It isn't clear who will be teaching it next year, but it won't be Ms. Thomas. AP Art History was one of the best classes I took at Benicia High School. It seems completely ridiculous to continue the class and have anyone other than Ms. Thomas teach it. I know many people who were opened up to Art History through that class and who went on to major or minor in it in college. If you took the class, you know Ms. Thomas did her job, and did it well. And there is no one better to teach this class at BHS—please sign our petition to tell the Benicia Unified School District to keep Ms. Thomas as the APAH teacher. Elected officials need to serve for a six (6) year period with no re-election. This would effect all Federal and State officials and after they have served, they would go back into the private sector with NO retirement and/or health benefits. They would serve for the public good. We need to have sensible people who care more about our country and less about making a carreer in politics.

The Average wait for increase of Benefits is 4 years, sometimes 5. If the illness or injury occurs while in Active Duty the U.S Government has no right to force the Veteran to fight in court for the obvious.This wastes tax payers money and places a burden on the Honorably Discharged Service Member who suffers economically to carry the burden of Co-Payment fees in which She or He needs for survival. The current state of the system is a waiting game to see whether the Servicemember will pass away before recieveing the increase which will be used to shoulder the burden of pharmicudical costs along with Doctors and Dentists. I never would believe in my wildest dreams imagine that I would be begging the Government for my fair due while I laid in the Medical Sickbay suffering from an illiness which almost took my life in 2002.
