Too big to fail has failed, we need to get back to what worked. Allowing Banks, to manage Insurance, Real estate, Stocks and Bonds, and the loans to support all of the above is dangerous as we have seen what happens. We need to limit commercial bank securities activities and affiliations between commercial banks and securities firms. Everything should be handled by separate entities.

Our youth are not getting the education they need to become healthy, self-sufficient adults. The CDC estimates that 1 in 3 children born in the year 2000 will have diabetes at some point. Preventable diet-related diseases are the main cause of death in the U.S. and account for more than $150 billion in yearly health care costs. Public education operates on the pretense of preparing students for jobs and the reality of preparing them for tests (which it does rather poorly). Education reform is overdue, and increasing healthy living skills should be a main priority of our nation's schools. Every student should learn about nutrition, food sources and affordable healthy foods. Another component of food education is basic cooking skills; as Jamie Oliver has suggested, every young person should leave high school knowing how to cook 10 simple, inexpensive and healthy meals.

It is time that unions don't carry all the load. It is time for Democrats to get off their butts and talk to people face to face and tell them the truth one on one!

The Proposed Zero Contributions Campaign Finance Amendment to the United States Constitution is a campaign finance reform effort to eliminate the influence of financial contributions on our elected officials.

With the Euro economy struggling, Republicans breathing down Pres. Obama's neck with all of their money to oust him, repeated efforts to create US jobs with republican opposition (unless it is for big oil), I'd like to appeal to my fellow Americans, to go out and buy something American. Recent data shows that productivity is down... which means that those of us who have been fortunate enough to work, are now tired of our overload... and this is going to force companies to hire.... IF... the demand for products stays up. So, go out there and be a good-demanding-American! Go buy something! But be planful... pick an American product, or American friendly product, or democratic friendly product, and help keep up the demand. Help create new jobs through your purchasing power, help "vote" through your purchasing power, help keep our economy going. Make it harder on the Obama haters to hate. Rise to this American Challenge! Show the Kock brothers, Karl Rove, Trump, Rush and the republicans who love to hate, that we are going to take back our country despite their twisted agenda.

For 36 years, Leonard Peltier has been in Federal penitentiary for the responsibility of a shoot-out between the FBI and a small Lakota summer encampment on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Many people have called for his release" Amnesty Intl, Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela, Robert Redford and others. Obama has done nothing to further human rights during his administration. It's time for a presidential pardon.

One of America's wealthiest churches is trying to send Occupy Wall Street activists to prison. Last year, Occupy Wall Street sought sanctuary on vacant property owned by Trinity Wall Street Episcopal Church when they were evicted from Zuccotti Park. The church's rector, ignoring pleas from Christian leaders like Archbishop Desmond Tutu, had the occupiers arrested and charged with criminal trespass. Those arrested, including a retired Episcopal bishop, are scheduled to go on trial next week. They're facing up to 90 days in prison, but so far Trinity's leaders are cooperating with the prosecution and falsely claiming that the situation is now out of their control. So a group of prominent New York City pastors is organizing a last-minute prayer vigil seeking to have the charges dropped. We're hoping to give them a petition signed by over 10,000 people to deliver to Trinity Wall Street -- will you add your name?

Elections are being bought by corporate interests. The will of the people is not being served by this. Getting corporate money out of our elections will help wages, benefits, our environment, education, etc. We are calling on all law makers to commit to reversing this terrible Supreme Court decision.

HR459 titled the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2011 is currenty in committee in the U.S. House. Paul Ryan is the only Republican from WI not to consponsor it. Democrat Tammy Baldwin, U.S. Senate candidate has cosponsored it. What does Mr. Ryan have against transparency of the FED? Perhaps it has something to do with big business corporate interests as evidenced in his strong support of WI Gov. Scott Walker. There are currently 230 cosponsors which is enough to bring it to a full house vote scheduled in July. Congressman Ryan vote "YEA" for HR459

In the Citizens United case Supreme Court concluded that corporate donations amount to protected free speech but did not address whether the same holds true for foreign corporations. I agree w/ Justice John Paul Stevens who had said "It will be necessary to explain why the First Amendment provides greater protection of some nonvoters than to that of other nonvoters" .
