Every year thousands of people are on life support and have no hope of recovery. Support a bill that will allow people to die with dignity.

  • Constitutionally Protect a Woman’s Right to Choose
We need to create a constitutional amendment that guarantees a women’s right to an unrestricted first trimester abortion. We need an amendment to the constitution that prevents Roe V. Wade from ever being overturned. This amendment must prevent a group’s ideology, a person’s personal beliefs, or the government from dictating what a woman should do with her body. The 1973 Supreme Court decision of Roe V. Wade allowed women to get safe, legal abortions from well-trained doctors. But after this law was passed people against legal abortion began working on a way to prevent any funding for abortion. In recent years many against legalized abortion have cut off federal and state funding to Planned Parenthood and other clinics that allow women to terminate their pregnancies. Denying a woman the right to end her pregnancy in the first trimester should be unconstitutional. We need to create an amendment to secure the right to a first trimester abortion, it just hasn’t been written yet. This is where you come in: by signing this petition we can make this amendment a reality.

  • Shifty CitiMortgage:Stalls Modifications
100's of homeowners who qualified for various home loan modifications were unprocessed or stalled by Citi's multiple phone lines and agents in 5 different states to confuse and replicate the "required documents" for periods of 6 months to 2 years and put in foreclosure sales during the time; even while receiving formal UPS delivered letters verifying approval.

  • Santa Susana Field Lab CAG community advisory group
There has not been a general meeting for the Santa Susana Field Lab nuclear and chemical investigation and cleanup, slated for 2017 as completion date based on the signed AOCs between the State and Responsible Parties Boeing, NASA, and DOE. We need accountability and accurate information so the public can be educated on these important decisions moving forward. We want to be involved in how the cleanup progresses so that the current environment and sensitive species are protected as well as the people living below the site. The idea is not to reinvent the process, but to convert the existing PPG to a properly formed CAG with the community driven mechanism for agenda issues with all relevant regulators and responsible parties at the table participating, so transparency and accurate education of the issues can be achieved for all.

  • Plastic Restriction
The issue crosses party lines. Used plastic containers, when exposed to sunlight release poison into our groundwater. There are alternatives to plastic that would create as many jobs as those lost. If we started getting plastic out of the environment, wouldn't that be a positive legacy for which this era might be remembered?

  • Keeping Higher Education Affordable
In these harsh economic times, getting an education is becoming more a nightmare than a dream for many Americans. Recently, student loan interest rates were doubled, making the pursuit of higher education that much harder. To ease the strain that student loan interest rate increases will cause for so many college graduates, why not utilize them in a manner that eases the strain on county, city, state and federal budgets? Why not offer the option of public service to recent graduates as one means to offset the rising costs of higher education?

  • Displaced worker tax
Republicans these days have become obsessed with the term “job creators”. They claim that handing money and power over to big wall street banks and the top earning %1 will stimulate job growth and thus the economy. But as we’ve seen in recent years, these measures actually have the opposite effect. Extra cash for corporations only equates to more cost saving measures such as the purchase of expensive equipment and systems that displace workers and yield no benefit to the economy or the greater community. Outsourcing is also a cost cutting measure that displaces American workers. To solve these issues I propose implementing a displaced worker tax that would tax corporations on every dollar made by the displacement of American workers so that it becomes too costly to outsource or otherwise displace American employees.

  • Property Taxes
Property Taxes in New Jersey are extremely high. While these taxes are not going down, our services are(shorter hours, less bulk pickup, recycling once per week etc, etc. It's pretty much Taxation without Representation. We're paying for less service but our taxes just keep going up. Gov. Christie keeps talking about how he's working on it. However, we the taxpayer see no relief in site.

  • Help fund a better future, a future in the stars
My petition is about getting more funding for NASA. For a long time our countries space program was a force to be reckoned with, we were the first to land on the moon. But now, our agencies have started lacking because of a lack of funding. This can be changed with additional government funding, and we can make it happen.

  • Save the Adoption Tax Credit
The Adoption Tax Credit has helped families offset high costs for years. Signing this petition will ensure that the refundable tax credit is renewed. It is set to sunset at the end of 2012 and move to a non-refundable credit. In 2013 it will be cut in half and only available for special needs adoptions. We need your help to make it permanent and refundable for all Americans adopting. We are in the process of adopting a child. The cost of adoption can range from a few thousand dollars to over $50,000! Having the Adoption Tax Credit available for families, helps in more ways that just financially to the family adopting. By helping people who might not otherwise be able to afford the costs of adoption; foster care children will be reduced, the need for orphanages in the future will be eliminated/reduced, abortions will go down and mother's keeping kids they cannot afford and thereby increasing welfare to them will also go down. This is a win/win for humanity, tax payers and for the government. Thank you adoptiontaxcredit.org for providing info to better address the needs of the credit to be extended.
