When we elected Barak Obama to the presidency he told us to hold his feet to the fire. He said he couldn't make the changes we all wanted and hoped for without US. Well, we didn't push back very hard in these past 3 years and, even though many of us are deeply disappointed, we still believe in the man's essential goodness. But, you can't fight to get our country back by taking money from the people who are stealing our country. Make it a requirement that any company benefitting from a tax cut since 2000 must produce results of every job they created as a result of the cuts--to be verified by the GAO--as well as every job they have shipped overseas. We have been watching this country's own forests, roadways, and waterways fill with filthy trash and debris for over fifty years. It is time to begin removing and safely disposing of the plastic and metal in our neighborhoods, fields, and streams. It is time to correctly manage our forests by clearing dead wood and overgrowth. Legal use of our forest and park wood can create jobs and offer a chance to create clean wood energy; enabling this nation to use a long abandoned home energy. We should call on our area delegates, park services, and our neighbors to begin safe initiations for registered citizens to start actual physical clean-up programs in their local areas, and at state and national levels. Our citizens are our best resource for this job of imperative. The dead-line is yesterday. Our fellow creatures suffer, the health of our continent suffers, and our children see an impossible mess. This is our job. Delay on this issue can only mean, more ugly, choking debris, and unhealthy farmlands, forests, and rivers.

The North Carolina legislature is prepared to legalize fracking, a practice that is known to create earth tremors. The Shearon Harris nuclear plant is less than 15 miles from proposed fracking sites in Chatham County. And on January 22, 2010 officials at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced that the electrical generator from the damaged Unit 2 reactor at Three Mile Island will be used at Shearon Harris. So, not only does the NC legislature want to approve fracking near the population centers of Raleigh, Durham, Cary and Chapel Hill, it risks water contamination, methane gas pollution and destruction of roadways that will carry thousands of truckloads of chemicals and water to pump millions of gallons deep into the earth. We must stop this insanity.

The USA invaded Iraq on lies. We also invaded Afghanistan to get the 9/11 culprits but we have stayed for ten years and changed the mission repeatedly. The Afghanistan occupation is costing us about $2 billion per week. Meanwhile, we have some in Congress willing to cut from the people with no cuts from war and military.

The article in Maxim magazine about how to "cure" a feminist by turning her into "an actual girl" is highly insulting and promotes sexist actions by encouraging men to pretend they care about women's issues in order to date or objectify a woman.The photos show a "feminist" going from casual clothing to wearing underwear as "an actual girl". This mentality is harmful to both men and women as it continues to express the idea that women exist for the pleasure of men and that real issues that affect women on a daily basis have nothing to do with men. This line of thought creates and sustains an unsafe environment for women and Maxim should immediately address the irresponsibility of printing such an article.

The Republician Congress in 2006 passed a law that required the USPS to pre-fund it's pension fund for 75 years in a 5 year time frame. This outrageous law will cause the loss of over 200,000 middle class jobs, 20% of whom are vets. No tax dollars go to funding the USPS.

This will help decrease our national debt. They need to look at themselves as the ones that are causing some of the debt problems.

Religious organizations do not pay taxes because as most of us agree they are seen as doing good in the community. However, when they use their status to have influence and effect or change our political system, then they shoud be treated no different then the rest of us. If they choose to do that, then they should give up their tax exempt status.
