Event: FREE DANNY MEANS! LET OUR VOICES BE HEARD!!! My nephew, Danny E. Means, has been incarcerated for 15 years because of his involvement in a series of crimes stemming from a 1997 bank robbery. Of the 3 men involved with these crimes, only Danny received the lengthy sentence of 120 years. The others served less than 8 years, while Danny remains incarcerated. All 3 men were involved in these crimes that had potential for harm but no one was injured or killed. Even so, the prosecution was allowed to increase low-level charges to more serious charges. Not for the purpose of bringing justice to the matter, but for no other reason than to get the largest sentence possible for Danny. You see, we the family and friends of Danny do not condone his actions in any shape, form or fashion, and neither does Danny! However, nor do we condone an "in-justice" system that allows such grievous racial disparity in its sentencing. Danny received a sentence twice that of the maximum for murder and much more than a white male of the same age would have received for the same charges. Furthermore, statistics show that by the end of 2005, 8.1% of black males age 25-29 were incarcerated compared to 1.1% white males for the same charges. We his family and friends are not claiming that Danny is innocent. Only that his sentence is unjust and we refuse to let this unjust sentence hang over his head for approximately the next 30 years left on his sentence without our voices being heard! Certain legislators have introduced measures which severely shut out the public and due process. These actions disfranchise citizens, corrupt public policies, and undermine democracy. This is not pono.

Arkansas currently has a lottery scholarship program. Applicants can receive funds to pay for college tuition in full. 40% of those who received the scholarship dropout. We should use at least 1/2 of the available funds for those who have finished college and are working in the state to help pay back student loans. If I had my loans covered I could and would spend more money in the local economy.

Our nation expresses its sympathy to the citizens of Syria who are suffering and witnessing murder and torture directed at them by Syria's President, Bashar al-Assad. But compassion will not stop the violence. There is another way without the military involvement that risks soldiers and civilians. We suggest a reward of at least $10,000,000 (that's 0.0000115 of the military part of the approved US Discretionary budget for FY 2012) for the safe delivery of Bashar al-Assad, President of Syria, to the International Court of Justice, for trial on charges of crimes against humanity. This offer means no military intervention; no one gets killed -- neither military nor civilian, captor or offendor. Justice prevails -- peacefully.

Mr. Zimmerman has not yet.. Been arrested for this terrible crime.. Why so many ask? Who does he know or working for? 9-1-1 call is proof beyond a reasonable doubt... Travon died begging for his life... Three bullets... fired.. Not one... So this also proves according to statues Mr. Zimmerman intentionally wanted to kill Travon.. Intent to kill... So again my question is... Why is Mr. Zimmerman still walking as a free man..?

The Virginia Governor wants to put expensive toll fees everywhere in the Tidewater area! The people oppose this vehemently and prefer to place a state tax on gasoline by 4 cents per gallon! The tolls will ruin the Tidewater area economy!

Purdue University is graduating one of the greatest student athletes to ever call himself a Boilermaker. Much like Drew Brees and Bob Griese ,Robbie Hummel in his tenure, has lifted a program to national prominence. Hummel has never been accused in any scandal and even through tragic injury continued to be a leader and a role model on and off the court. We need to recognize his contribution to the the team, the sport and the University by retiring his jersey.
