Hosting the Adult National Tournaments in Florida is inconsistent with our values. Every day the number of people and organizations boycotting Florida grows. Equality Florida has instituted a travel advisory and the NAACP has raised grave concerns over laws that block teaching of African American studies. From education to immigration to human rights, legislation in Florida has begun to promote hatred and division.

If President Biden doesn’t step in, many Native American tribes are set to lose their sacred land, and more than 40 million Americans’ access to clean water will be in jeopardy. Despite a 20-year uranium mining moratorium near the Grand Canyon, Donald Trump’s administration took bold steps towards restarting operations at dormant uranium mines outside the Grand Canyon.1 Right now, MAGA Republicans in Congress are pushing to increase uranium mining on the millions of acres of land near the Grand Canyon. We have to act now to show President Biden this is an unacceptable attack on local tribes and access to clean drinking water. The Grand Canyon is the largest canyon in the world and has massive historical importance for local tribes. Though the Canyon is visited by millions to witness its beauty and grandeur, it’s also an essential resource for the communities around it. The rivers at the bottom of the canyon carry half a million tons of silt every day and provide clean water to 7 states.2 Many tribes are set to be affected by the mining if President Biden doesn’t act. The Hopi, the Hualapai, the Kaibab,the Las Vegas, the Moapa Band of Paiute Indians, the Navajo Nation, the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah, the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe, the Yavapai-Apache Nation, the Pueblo of Zuni, the Havasupai Tribe, and many more tribes have strong connection to the Grand Canyon and still call it home to this day. In fact, this wouldn’t be the first time local tribal communities have been damaged by uranium mining. Since the 1950s, when at least 22 uranium mills were active in areas surrounding the Grand Canyon, more than 500 mines have been abandoned, leaving a toxic legacy in the communities.3 In the southwest, women and newborn babies show higher levels of uranium in their bodies than people in other parts of the country.4 We must take action and demand that President Biden protect the sacred land of indigenous communities and preserve clean drinking water for 40 million people. We’ve partnered with a coalition of Tribal leaders to call on President Biden to use his authority under the Antiquities Act to establish a monument — totaling 1.1 million acres — to protect the cultural, archeological, and sacred places of ancestral importance to Indigenous peoples and Tribes. Even more SCOTUS ethics scandals are being revealed, yet the man that leads the highest Court in the nation, Chief Justice John Roberts, REFUSES to testify in front of the Senate. In the last few weeks, we’ve learned of Clarence Thomas’ luxury vacations with billionaire GOP mega-donor Harlan Crow.1 Roberts himself is involved with a scandal around his wife making $10 million from law firms with cases in front of the Court — Roberts NEVER disclosed this money or recused himself from these cases.2 This is unconscionable on the most powerful court in the county. Chief Justice Roberts needs to testify before the Senate on the state of the Court and the rampant ethics scandals. Senator Dick Durbin can make it happen. All of the conservative justices have been at the center of ethics issues. Millions of dollars undisclosed. Conflicts of interests. Trips to Rome funded by right-wing organizations. Superyacht vacations. Spouses involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 election. The list goes on and on. When we talk about some of these SCOTUS ethics issues, we’re not talking about minor, isolated incidents. To describe Thomas’s string of behaviors that likely broke the law, experts and retired judges have used words like INCOMPREHENSIBLE, HIDING, VIOLATION, and CORRODES PUBLIC TRUST.3,4 Over half of Americans believe Supreme Court justices base rulings on personal politics, instead of the law.5 Confidence in the Court is at an all-time low thanks to extreme right-wing rulings out of step with the American people and a slew of ethics scandals surrounding the conservative justices. And yet, for more than four years, the Supreme Court has failed to adopt an ethics code and enforce ethical norms despite a series of serious controversies.6 Elected and appointed officials across the government have high standards of ethics applied to their actions. The Supreme Court shouldn’t be an exception. Congress must act now, and that starts with Senator Dick Durbin ensuring that Roberts has no choice but to testify on these scandals. Background work can often involve working very long hours, working in unfavorable weather conditions, and working with very little food, and all of this for very close to minimum wage pay. Yet, background actors tend to have their performances devalued. Often, they are treated more like props than like actors. Some industry professionals are so disrespectful toward background actors that they label extras, “props that eat”.

It’s important to listen to how we feel even though we are just kids, it affects our daily lives and our overall mood. I hear students talking about it every minute of everyday.

It seems like every day, Justice Clarence Thomas’ ethical issues get worse. Here’s what we’ve learned – just in the past few weeks: GOP mega donor and billionaire Harlan Crow paid for Thomas’ grandnephew to go to school – thousands of dollars in private school tuition for a child that Thomas was “raising as a son” [1] … Leonard Leo, a prominent leader of the Federalist Society, secretly directed tens of thousands of dollars to Thomas’ wife through the same nonprofit group that, later that year, went on to file a brief in the disastrous, anti-voter Shelby County v. Holder case that gutted the Voting Rights Act [2]… And this deluge of corruption news all came in the wake of a bombshell ProPublica report revealing that Clarence Thomas has been going on undisclosed luxury vacations on Harlan Crow’s dime [3]. Why are wealthy right-wing donors giving the Thomas family so much money – and what are they getting in return? We can’t let these massive ethical questions go unanswered – but without a Supreme Court code of conduct, we have no way to ensure our justices are acting with integrity, impartiality, and respect for the law. Word from chances family! “Today is a very sad day for our family, and I wanted to make this post in hopes that this doesn't happen to anyone elses family and what you would do in this situation. These pictures are of my dog chance, I've had him since he was a puppy. He was a family dog. We also have a cat and a weiner dog that are chances brother and sister as well. Today I left to go to a job orientation in Frankfort while there I got a call from Cass county dispatch that my dog got out. So someone that knew my dog and knew he belongs to me must have called. I answered the call on a break and tried to figure out how to get my dog back into the fenced in area or into my house. I had trouble getting a hold of someone so I called county dispatch back and asked if they could tranquilize him and take him to the pound until I got back. They transferred me to the county marshall in the Cass Walton area because we live in Walton. So I repeated to the town marshall name Tom to tranquilize my dog since he couldn't be caught and take him to the pound and I'll take care of it when I got home. As I finish this statement the town marshall Tom proceeds to tell me that he shot my dog in cold blood. He said my dog was aggressive and the funny thing is the animal control guy was in the area as well right along with him as well. My dog has never bite anyone. He goes to the vet has updated shot records and has never wore a mussel to anyone of these places. My dog was found with a perfect bullet shot to the head right next door to my house in abandoned yard and house next to mine. Chance has never been aggressive to anyone. He was hyper and loved to get out and run. He never hurt any other animals and loved my 13 year old son and his friends. And now my sweet family dog lays dead in the ground in this picture with a bag over him. The statement the town. Marshall Tom then made to me was he don't tranquilize dogs and take them to the pound the pound is full. I called the cass county human society and that in turn was a lie that this town marshall told me. So while I wasn't at home and at a job my sweet chance was shot in killed in cold blood with animal control standing right there to watch it and let it happen as well. I hope and pray that no other family in this area has to be lied to and endure this deep pain and sadness of losing a family pet like we did. Rest in peace chance 🙏❤️ we love you boy😢🐶 please feel free to share this post so maybe other families in this area won't have to bare the broken 💔 we have thank you.”

If allowed to pass, this proposed bill would put real families out of work, the wine selection for the consumer would suffer and local winegrowers would be forced to downsize.

I feel that my campaign is important because the youth is the future and teenagers who don’t get into trouble should never be brought into trouble. Every where there are trouble teens but teens who are 100% innocent and incarcerated I just find it very difficult to just let these young men be incarcerated for something they did not do. And I will not stand for PONCHATOULA police department arresting innocent kids

The corruption and conflicts of interest in our education system cannot go unchecked any longer. Our children's futures are on the line, and it's up to all of us to take action and demand change. We must hold our leaders accountable and support the state-appointed board of managers to fix the systemic problems at La Joya ISD. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for our community. It's time to stand up for our children and demand that the La Joya Independent School District accepts the recommendation to replace the current school board with a state-appointed board of managers.
