• Tell Kroger: Stop selling food grown with toxic pesticides!
This year’s bee die-off numbers just came out, and the news isn’t good. Bees are still dying at alarming rates. And it’s largely due to bee-killing neonicotinoid pesticides. If we want to stop the massive bee losses, we need to get these pesticides out of our food system. Kroger plays a key role in this fight. It could stop selling food grown with toxic pesticides. But we need YOU to help make that happen!

  • Support Exceptional Education (S.E.E.) Little Silver
Little Silver contributes nearly 22 million in tax dollars to the state of NJ, but receives less than $400,000 annually for our schools. 94.3% of our district’s budget comes from our local tax base. Despite our high property taxes, to meet the 2018-2019 budget, the district was forced to cut two teaching positions, one administrative position and one support staff member. Three additional teaching positions and one support staff position were reduced to part-time. The health of our schools affects every resident of Little Silver. We need our legislators to IMMEDIATELY reform the funding process for school districts like Little Silver.

  • Berkeley City Council: Give Consumers the Right to Know!
Direct Action Everywhere has investigated numerous supposedly "humane" farms supplying to Berkeley grocery stores like Whole Foods and documented filth, disease, extreme crowding, and cannibalism among the distressed animals. Consumers deserve to know that even "organic" dairy farms separate mothers and their babies immediately after birth, that "humane" egg farms can legally kill male chicks by throwing them into a grinding machine alive, and that behind the pretty images on the packaging, animals are being tortured for the products sold in Berkeley stores. We are calling upon the city of Berkeley to pass a first-of-its-kind consumer transparency law, requiring warning labels on all animal products sold in Berkeley.

  • NO PLEA DEALS FOR CHILD MOLESTERS!
Sexual abuse/molestation occurs whenever one person dominates and exploits another by means of sexual activity or suggestion. Any sexual act, overt or covert, between a child and an adult through seduction or coercion. Numbers are disturbing when it comes to child molestation/sexual abuse cases here in Iowa that are not facing appropriate prison time due to the laws we have in place. We the citizens of Iowa are asking for our State legislators to put a bill in place to bring harsher punishment and stiffer penalties when it comes to these type of predators! laws that continue to require to register as a sex offender and require life long probation and ankle monitoring . as well as a life long no contact order in place for victim. My granddaughter was sexually molested from ages 2 to 6 years old. evidence was clear and founded by DHS as well as local law enforcement. and confession of guilt by her grandfather Dean Hilpipre under oath in Court. He was charged with two counts of sexual abuse 2nd degree. which is a mandatory sentence of 25 years each count. Assistant county attorneys negotiated a lesser charge that ultimately ended with 5 years probation and 5 years no contact order! This needs to change! NO MORE PLEA DEALS FOR CHILD MOLESTERS!

  • Require mental health education in Florida state-funded elementary and secondary schools.
Mental health education is not mandatory in Florida schools in spite of the well- documented need. Educating our youth on facts and behaviors will encourage open discussion and promote a greater understanding of mental health.

  • It's Time To Break Up Facebook's Monopoly
Most of us use Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. They’re important ways for us to communicate and connect with each other. But Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg have amassed a scary amount of power. Facebook unilaterally decides the news that billions of people around the world see every day. It buys up or bankrupts potential competitors to protect its monopoly, killing innovation and choice. It tracks us almost everywhere we go on the web and, through our smartphones, even where we go in the real world. It uses this intimate data hoard to figure out how to addict us and our children to its services. And then Facebook serves up everything about us to its true customers -- virtually anyone willing to pay for the ability to convince us to buy, do, or believe something. And it is spending millions on corporate lobbyists, academics, and think tanks to ensure no one gets in their way. Just this week, a whistleblower revealed what many of us have known: They Facebook executives prioritize profit over public good—whether the devastating results support genocides, lead to depression among teenagers, induce violence against people of color, spread disinformation about COVID-19, or incite attacks against our democracy. And on Monday, when Facebook's service was interrupted for 5 hours, it also took down Instagram and WhatsApp, which is a major network of communication in many developing nations—showing once again how the concentration of power in one corporation can have truly crippling impact on communities and the economy. Enough. The five members of the Federal Trade Commission, which is the part of our government tasked with overseeing Facebook, can make Facebook safe for our democracy by breaking it up, giving us the freedom to communicate across networks, and protecting our privacy. Congress can pursue investigations to expose the extent of Facebook's unchecked power and pass legislation to limit its power and protect our privacy. And the Department of Justice must pursue every avenue to reduce the concentration of power Facebook holds and abuses. Together, we will make sure that they do.

  • Anti-Lynching legislation
After the opening of The National Memorial for Peace and Justice, I was made more aware of how often lynchings still take place. I was baffled. How can someone be opposed to anti-lynching!? After making calls and sending emails, I have yet to get a response from my senators or representatives. The people want answers and solutions.

  • Return NRA donations
If we are to continue calling ourselves 'civilized', we must reduce/stop mass shootings in this country. We must also free our elected representatives at all levels from money 'tainted' by the blood of our children.

  • Title X and Planned Parenthood
I am a college student at College of the Canyons and the reason I am sending this petition to you is that I, as a citizen of the United States am concerned about the constitutionality of this act and am worried about the ramifications this act would have upon peoples ability to have a choice in how they live their lives. Below are the signatures of fellow students of mine that agree with me.

  • Constituents of Chicago aldermen want hearings about lead in our water.
70% of Chicago households have lead in their drinking water. There is no requirement for children to be tested for lead in their blood even though it creates a lifetime of mental and emotional damage. And out of 1200 public water fountains in Chicago parks, 750 have been cited with unsafe amounts of lead. The public needs to find out what problems there may be with our water, and the first step is City Council holding open hearings.

  • Mannington District Fair
I think if we have the fair like others in our state, where you pay one price and everything except the food and souvenirs are included, it would be a lot better on us citizens and the board would make more money. Also, get rid of this fake music and having the same one every other year and get back good country like years ago. Also, have one day for the rock fans out there. But please stop the fake. With the prices of admission and having to pay for everything else and the fake boring entertainment, our fair has gone way downhill just in the last 10 years. Take a stand; help the community and make things better.
