• Vote NO on RNC ordinance
Thursday, the city council is considering an ordinance that we find to be detrimental to the interests of the residents of St. Petersburg. While it is supposedly aimed at securing the safety of partygoers and city residents during an August 26th RNC party at Tropicana Field, we believe that many of its features have absolutely no value in protecting residents, protesters or RNC attendees. The ordinance does make many aspects of ordinary living for residents impossible, the ordinance massively infringes on our civil liberties, and essentially shuts down some of our local businesses. Such a law serves no clear purpose in keeping anyone safe, but it does make almost everyone who happens to live or shop in the zone “arrestable.”

  • Outlaw Super Pacs
It is time for voters to not be taken in by Super Pacs. We must stop influential groups from trying to buy our elections. This means protecting voter rights at all cost, and stopping filthy rich companies, governments, and other groups from trying to take the country over, and make it in their own image and likeness. Our country is about the people and their freedom to vote for who they choose without fighting the money interests that tend to leave them out of who wins and who loses.

  • Allow backyard chickens in Joliet, IL
The City of Joliet is trying to force us to get rid our three backyard hens. A small flock of hens will produce eggs to feed a family, but they are pets and should not be classified by zoning ordinances as "farm animals."

  • End Tennessee's statewide effort to suppress the vote
Please join Knoxville and the state of Tennessee as we empower our communities to stand together in encouraging the 108th Tennessee General Assembly, Speaker Ms. Beth Harwell, and Mr. Mark Goins, Coordinator of Elections to recognize the outcry of its constituency and reverse the new Voter ID Laws. We ask that Speaker Harwell, as a woman, personally sponsor and foster the reversal of these laws in respect of her heritage as a protected class and as the first female speaker for the Tennessee House of Representatives.

  • Coalition of African American Pastors must stop dividing the Black Community
Instead of uniting the Black Community to fight against Voter ID/Suppression laws, drugs, violent crimes, lack of education, high unemployment and the disproportionate number of Black men in the prison system, the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP) is rallying for 100,000 signatures on a petition to stand against President Obama in this election because of his personal views on marriage equality. We must stop allowing our community to be divided over our diversity, and focus on those things that make us the same. Equality has never hurt anyone, it only makes us stronger.

  • Obama Administration: Enforce College Voter Registration Law
A federal law requires colleges to email all their students instructions on how to register to vote, but it is not enforced or followed. College students, because they move so often, are often denied their right to vote because they didn't know they had to register at their current address before the early October deadline. Help us tell the Obama Administration to enforce this law so college students know how to register to vote before the deadline.

  • Save Chester County Voter's Rights
With the U.S. at the forefront of championing the cause for fair and free elections worldwide, and an American Presidential election looming only months away, at best it is unwise and at worst electioneering, to deny the right of having a voice in the election of those who make the laws under which, as good citizens, we must live. It is imperative that we lead by example, and not undermine the right of we the people to vote in a fair and free election, when proponents of the law have produced no examples of people committing fraud by impersonating voters. Therefore with a Philadelphia election official expecting a "mess" over the photo ID law as reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer Aug. 2,2012, a Delco election official vowing to defy the ID law, as reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer July 28,2012 and up to 758,000 registered Pennsylvanians likely to be disenfranchised as a result, as reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer July 5,2012, why would anyone enforce this outrageous new law?
