BIG meat and poultry companies are refusing to protect their employees! In order to protect their huge corporate profits, they are forcing their employees to make an impossible choice: either work under dangerous conditions (and thereby run the risk of infecting yourself and your family with Covid-19)-or lose your job! Labor unions, as organizations in civil society that form the groundwork of a democratic, pluralistic society, need determined, courageous leadership that understands the threat of fascism, and is willing and able to stand up to it. A union representing academic workers, who are under a systematic assault by well-financed right-wing groups (like Turning Point USA, which maintains a “Professor Watch-List”), has a particular responsibility in that regard. In the case of Lars Maischak, CFA accepted, defended, and continues to defend the decision by CSU to remove a faculty member from the classroom, accepting it as justified because the faculty member had been the target of violent threats by right-wing groups and individuals. This is a case of capitulation in the face of politically motivated violence unacceptable for a labor union in a democracy. There is no shame in admitting the complicity of your organization with right-wing violence. The only shame is in continuing to pretend it did not happen. By delegitimizing the experience and perspective of the victim, CFA keeps the victimization alive. We are all told to shelter in place, keep six feet distance between us and use a face mask when we go anywhere for our safety and the safety of our fellow Americans and yet we expect the meat processing workers to endanger their lives and ours by continuing to work in unsafe conditions.

Because people need to start protesting and getting their lives back to normal again and letting kids have a life playing sports going to school. People need to start going back to work and making money. You are making us American people suffer and it's not right. We need to work go back to every day life and have a life back and enjoy our lives and stop this crap. Because people are killing themselves and jumping off bridges and buildings and people are oding and this is not right so hurry up and fix this. The coronavirus is only one in a series of pandemics which have emerged in the 21st century. Our battle against covid 19 has been severely hampered causing over 10,000 deaths by lack of personal protective equipment for our hospital, nursing home and long term care facilities as well as for those in the grocery stores, warehouses, supply chain and delivery systems for food. This includes doctors, nurses, nurses' aides and orderlies, janitorial people, food service workers and warehouse workers, grocery store personal and the delivery systems. These inexpensive items were supplied on an as needed basis from China and other Asian countries. When there was no emergency, the system worked but has collapsed in our time of greatest need. We need to manufacture and control the production in this country. The factories for these jobs could be based in areas where unemployment is high because industries have become obsolete such as coal mining though the whole the fossil fuel industry is heading in this direction. We are hypocrites when we applaud the work of people on the front lines of disease and yet send them to battle without the low tech equipment they need because corporations could make more money by having it made elsewhere. Our military has already done the research on essential supply chain disruption. Our government should act upon it.

Everything and everyone on Earth will be effected by the next Presidential election. If TRump steals the 2020 Election the entire planet is doomed. If Biden wins, we all (planet, species, humans) have a chance of survival and making things right for our kids and grandchildren.

The response for handling the coronavirus outbreak has put a lot of responsibility on states. This needs a Federal response way beyond the ability of any one state. It is the Federal government who can take critical steps to ensure we gain control over this pandemic. Right now our Healthcare system is stretched to the brink. Frontline Workers are walking into dangerous work conditions. These are healthcare workers, transit, grocery, janitors, childcare workers, domestic, delivery, and food processor workers. They do not have proper protective gear, and are not being compensated for working in unsafe conditions. And if they aren't safe, we aren't safe. Huge portions of communities of color are being more hard hit than any other communities. Many of these communities already have high incidents of compromised health and live in communities that are economically devastated. This crisis will widen that gap if we don't make structural changes. We are at an unemployment rate near Depression Era levels. Debt is going to mount high for workers and students if we don't' make large scale policy changes. This is why this isn't just a health issue. This is a moral issue, a medical issue, an economic issue, a legal issue and a voting rights issue. More people will die needlessly if we don't have an immediate federal surge in testing capacity. The Defense Production Act can ensure this happens. We need to manufacture tens of millions of tests, personal protective equipment, drugs that are in shortage, and any future vaccines and treatments when markets fail to do so. This dramatic surge is critical not only to test the sick, but test persons who appear to be healthy but may be asymptomatic and keep detecting it in the population and identify hotspots. This plan is asking for suspending consumer debt collection, moratorium on eviction and foreclosures, stop utility and water shutoffs, student loan debt cancellation, free healthcare for persons who have none, increase Social Security and Disability Benefits. Passage the Essential Workers Bill of Rights that will provide paid family and medical leave, give workers PPE to do job safely, give hazard pay, and all workers kept on payroll even if the need to stay home. Pass federal price gouging and conflict of interest laws. Require full disclosure of lobbying. Lastly, adopt mandatory reforms to ensure everyone can vote safely. Medical Needs, Economic Needs, Protection of Frontline Workers and Workers, Laws to Protect us from Carpetbaggers, Protection of our Voting Rights. These are all the Moral Issues of our time. Tell Congress to take the right path to recovery and a better future for us and future generations by signing Senator Warren's Coronavirus Recovery Plan.

Northland Health Center terminated a reputable health care provider with zero regard to our community as well as surrounding communities during a national pandemic. Brenna is an amazing provider who has shown time and time again that she loves her job, works diligently for every patient, and loves her community. We want Brenna back!

If first responders or essential workers catch the virus, they will spread it rapidly by their high-contact jobs. If they themselves cannot work, there will be many unnecessary deaths. If healthcare workers cannot take care of the sick, many will die. If the supply chain is broken, many will be affected and die without needed medicine and food. It is counter productive to have all 50 states bidding against each other during this crisis.

Gov. Cuomo announced this week that there are many private companies willing to join this effort but they need the capital to do that, and it has to come from the Federal Government. We've heard of many companies around the country pitching in who are trying to finance without federal aid. In World War II, the government at first tried to lure private industry using financial tools such as tax incentives and write-offs of capital investments. They lost valuable time before they realized it wasn't going to work that way so, using the DPA, they had to guarantee the companies they would purchase the products they needed.
