A police officer grabbed Anthony Wall by the throat in North Carolina. Anthony was on his way home from prom where he'd accompanied his young sister. This is just a glimpse into multiple incidents of racial discrimination at Waffle House. Something's very wrong there, and we must not support such a business. Join us. AT&T and the giant pharmaceutical corporation Novartis have admitted paying more than $1 million to the shell company controlled by Trump attorney and “fixer” Michael Cohen. The payments went to the same shell company Cohen used to make hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. The best-case story for the companies is that they were incredibly stupid and willing to enter into a sleazy deal that failed. The worst-case scenarios raise questions about whether the funds sent to the shell company were outright bribes. There's only one way to find out: They must disclose their legal agreements so we can know what services they hoped to obtain from Cohen's operation, and what services were in fact provided.

Sanpete County, Utah County District Attorney Kevin Daniels filed felony burglary and theft charges Thursday, claiming, “They came here to Sanpete County and entered into turkey shed buildings belonging to turkey farmers in this area and essentially turkey-napped turkeys.” Taking sick animals to the vet isn’t burglary, it isn’t a felony, or “turkey-napping”--it’s what any decent person would do. The industry isn’t concerned about a missing injured bird, who they would’ve thrown in the trash like they do millions of others every year. They’re concerned about exposure. They know that when ordinary people see animals being hurt, they’re outraged. And that outrage is bad for their bottom line. We demand that Mr. Daniels represent the interests of ordinary, compassionate people, not violent corporations. That whistleblowers and animal rescuers be respected and protected, not repressed and prosecuted. Compassion is not a crime!

Cambridge has recently lost two vital music spaces in Central Square, this includes Out of the Blue Art Gallery and Mobius. Adding the EMF building to this list would be deeply troubling to the community. Tell John P. DiGiovanni to please allow the tenants at 110-120 Brookline St. 5 months to arrange suitable locations for our displaced businesses and artists. There are insufficient vacant rehearsal spaces in Cambridge and the surrounding areas. A mere 30 days to re-home over 100 artists and businesses is just not adequate. There are multiple recording studios in the building that have invested significant funds in infrastructure over the years. These establishments will be hemorrhaging money if they are forced to close their doors prematurely. United Airlines is keeping families that are relocating from Kwajalein Atoll (in the Republic of the Marshall Islands) back to CONUS from transporting their pets. Since most Kwaj residents only have one option for air travel, this is making it very difficult. Pets have been flying out to Kwajalein for years. Changing their rules doesn't make sense when Kwaj people have no other options for bringing a loved member of their family back with them. Please help convince United Airlines to make an exception for Kwaj families!!

Verizon has filed an application (Silvertail) to place antennas on top of the Kings' water tower, which is a prominent feature of our landscape. The tower can be seen from Kings Hwy as people travel into the historical Sugar Loaf Village, from Knapps View, Derose La., Pewter La., Well Sweep, Bellvale, Sugarloaf Mtn Rd., White Oak, Lake Station Rd., Ridge Rd., Silvertail Rd, Hambletonian Rd., Skyview Rd., West Meadow Way Rd. and in Warwick - Evan Rd., Helene Rd., Mila Rd., Evan Rd. and Darin Rd. Verizon has better choices than to mar the scenic landscape by placing antennas on this landmark.
