No cuts to educationAll Americans deserve a quality education. Education is the only service provided to all Americans that helps them with their future and their dreams. In Illinois and other states there are people who want to cut education funding. This is wrong!2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Ken Budz

More funding for the Education of Homeless ChildrenI am asking our state representatives and community leaders in Minnesota to allocate more funding for the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and programs for homeless families. In Minnesota, the challenge of homelessness for families has grown more striking in recent years. In 2012, The Wilder Research Center found that homeless families and children made up the largest segment of homeless people in Minnesota. Homeless children, in particular, have disproportionate negative academics experiences, including high rates of transferring schools, absenteeism, and grade repetition, among other barriers. The McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act provides federal funds for states to build awareness of the needs of these children and families who face homelessness. The McKinney-Vento Act also guarantees immediate enrollment to a school of choice and stability for homeless students and families. Yet the reality is not all districts implement this law nor have an active homeless liaison. Also, many districts struggle to pay for the transportation of their students from temporary residences to schools miles away. It is, thus, imperative that every school district is aware and well-educated about this law or the stigma attached with homelessness will continue. Therefore, I ask that we support more funding for the McKinney-Vento Act, more trained liaisons, and more community partnerships to eliminate this stigma for students and their families.75 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jessica Hunt

Allow Schools to Opt Out of the Triborough AmendmentNew Yorkers pay the highest cost per student for education in the Country and each year education continues to gets more expensive. The key driver of this out of control spending is the Triborough Amendment. It allows employee contracts to remain in effect until a new contract is negotiated giving unions little incentive to negotiate. School Districts should be allowed to opt out of the Triborough Amendment.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Felix Procacci

Give Schenectady City School District Our Fair Share. Fix inequities in state aid. Some of the poorest and neediest school districts in New York State, including Schenectady, are not getting even close to the state median level of funding, which is 82%. Meanwhile, many districts, including many wealthier districts, are receiving much higher percentages of their full funding amount. Some receive 100% or more.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Princella Learry

At one point in my life a couple of years back, i played the recorder and was actually pretty good at it.This may not seem like a lot to you but it is to me.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Why Should we have UFO Phil

Stop Bill 399 From Destroying Clayton County SchoolsSadly, Rep. David Knight House Bill 399 to undermine the taxing authority of the Clayton County government has passed the house and is making its way to the senate. If this bill becomes law it means a loss of $15 million in revenue that fund our schools. It will bleed our educational system and further stagnant our economic recovery. We must make defeating this bill our top priority.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Josephine Slaton
