Our Governor Haslam & legislators should over haul TennCare giving Tennessee residents health care with premiums based on income as it was originally set up & successfully survived that way for MANY years until Governor Bredeson single handedly decided to do away with it for people paying premiums even though majority of legislators tried to stop him & wanted to just OVER HAUL it ! TennCare once offered AFFORDABLE healthcare with premiums based on income for people who did not have healthcare thru their work places !

Obesity, Processed Foods, Genetically Altered Foods are creating present and future serious health issues issues. In order to have a nation of healthy people, we need to change what and how we eat. We can't have a healthy U.S. with our present food supply.

Seniors should have the option of getting drug coverage directly through Medicare, which could negotiate for very low prices. Instead, Medicare Part D guarantees huge profits for the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. With Republicans in Congress linking Medicare to the "fiscal cliff," President Obama has the perfect opportunity to make good on his 2008 campaign promise to add a public option for drug coverage.

To truly honor our veterans, we must ensure the people who care for them are respected and feel safe in their workplace. This is often not the case at Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital in Illinois, where dedicated employees have frequently been victimized by widespread harassment, retaliatory actions against those reporting abuses, bullying, and other forms of intimidation. Upper management at Hines has not been responsive in investigating these offenses, which violate Veterans Administration policies, contractual agreements, and the constitutional rights of those victimized. In many instances, members of management have themselves been guilty of these abuses. In other instances they have ignored complaints, dismissed them outright, and used pressure and threats against some employees making these complaints. Instances of bullying and harassment have increased exponentially, with 650 complaints in the past year as verified by Equal Employment Opportunity Commission office records. Hines management has refused to accept accountability or even conduct an open discussion on these issues, despite detailed complaints brought to their attention by employees and representatives of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 781. Members of the National Nurses Union and the Service Employees International Union have also reported similar instances of harassment. Some of the harassment at Hines has been directed against employees who have exposed waste, fraud, and abuse at the facility. This kind of unacceptable behavior adversely affects more than just the employees who have been victimized. Our concern is for our veterans—the men and women who have sacrificed so much for the protection and security of their fellow Americans. When employees are afraid to speak up for improvements in care and efficiency, it’s our veterans who truly pay the price. When a work environment is hostile, good healthcare workers leave. Our nation’s veterans deserve the very best healthcare available, and that cannot be provided under current conditions at Hines. We ask you to join us in demanding accountability and more responsive action from Hines management in addressing complaints from the workforce, disciplining those who have violated proper conduct standards, and working to create a more peaceful and productive working environment.

I'm have the most painful disease known to man and I could get rid of four medications with one legal plant. Disabled people who partake in smoking should not have to feel like a criminal. The prohibition on cannabis needs to end. Anybody with anxiety they give Xanax which when stopped causes seizures and its addicting!!! Wake up and realize there are safer alternatives that are being denied to us over propaganda that the government put out cause of the fiber. Cannabis also is a great strong fiber called "Hemp". But in 36 before the war the oil executives wanted nylon to be the fiber of choice. So instead of natural and stronger we went petroleum and weaker"nylon". This plant is a great medicine and a great fiber to save trees. Please help this state legalize cannabis and tax it like they do tobacco and alcohol.

A concussion is caused by a blow or motion to the head or body that causes the brain to move rapidly inside the skull. The risk for long-term, chronic cognitive, physical, and emotional symptoms associated with the development of post-concussion syndrome and chronic traumatic encephalopathy, as well as the risk for catastrophic injuries or even death, is significant when a concussion or head injury is not properly recognized, evaluated, and managed. Georgia is one of six states that has not adopted a safe return to play statewide guideline.

I feel very strongly that no animals should have antibiotics in their food supply because that will affect the health of human beings. This practice must be outlawed.
