• Give them a chance at the American Dream
Many of the people we see working around our state day after day are people who are working for a better life. Maybe they are the children of someone who came earlier, or maybe they have children who want a chance to live the American dream. People who are working productively in our society should have a chance to move toward citizenship. We need to support the President's plans for immigration reform.

  • It's Time to Fix Immigration
My mother emigrated from New Brunswick, Canada, to the US at 16 to help her parents and her 10 younger siblings. The US's Great Depression was starting to affect Canada, but her uncle had done well in the US as a barber and rental property owner. The new immigrants, and their children, many born in the US, are also helping their families and helping the US by taking the jobs even young Americans won't do.

  • DERECHOS IGUALES PARA LOS LATINOS
Yes. I'm an immigrant, got my citizenship in 1965. I believe it will help other immigrants in becoming solid citizens, and getting even footing - to the American nation's benefit - in this ' land of opportunity.'

  • The Foundation of the United States..."Family!"
I am concerned about the safety and well-being of families which are at risk of being torn apart by the broken immigration system. By keeping families together, Congress can help immigrants to integrate quickly, invest in local communities, and support the U.S. economy as taxpayers and entrepreneurs.

  • Pass the New York Dream Act
America is a nation of immigrants. It is imperative that we advance educational opportunities for the children of undocumented parents, and who have grown up and continue to live in New York State. These children cannot be expected to live on the fringes of society because they lack the economic opportunities to advance their lives. Assistance with the costs of higher education through scholarship opportunities is essential to help the hard-working children of immigrants break the cycle of poverty and become vibrant members of an engaged and enlightened community. These opportunities will not only assist recipients, their families and ultimately their communities but will also help motivate children by giving them Hope. Investing in education for students with limited opportunities and resources is an investment in our future.

  • Immigration Reform - Backlogs
My family has waited 13 years and counting to come into the country, legally. And with retrogression, the backlog might only get longer. Millions of people, especially those of Mexico and the Phillipines, live in the hope of being reunited with family, and sometimes die in despair without their dream coming true. In his inaugural address, President Obama made it known that Immigration reform will be a priority for 2013, for the illegal immigrants. Powell Job's launched a website for undocumented immigrants, the Dream Act. But how about for those who have been seperated for months, years, or even decades due to immigration backlogs? The ones who have been patiently waiting to come into the country legally. Shouldn't waiting to get into the country legally be more rewarded? We need Immigration reform to unite families who have been forced to live apart for 5,10 or even 20 years due to backlogs! We need the government to focus on these individuals as well.

  • Impeachment Not Amnesty
100 million Americans above the age of 20 did not vote in the election this year. let us take control of Our Government by sending them the message we should have sent them 30 years ago. Our Country is Our Country and our elected Officials have NO Right to give amnesty to people who will hold duo citizenship, break our laws, steal from our tax money. Let USA IMPEACH these elected officials who ignore our constitution, their duty to protect Us and their duty to follow OUR laws. IMPEACH THEM NOW or REMOVE THEM FROM OFFICE NOW.

  • Stand with President Obama: Demand a Roadmap to Citizenship for 11 Million Immigrants
For the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States, there's often no line to get into to become a fully participating American citizen. President Obama wants to fix these broken immigration laws, now the question is, "Will Congress join us or stand in the way?" America is a nation of values founded on the idea that all men and women are created equal, no matter what they look like or where they came from. Please sign this petition and tell Congress to provide a straightforward roadmap to citizenship for these 11 million people.
