RI Governor Raimondo, Please Endorse and Enforce Our Forgotten Lyme Laws.Dear Governor Raimondo, In 2002 and 2004 Rhode Island passed two new laws guaranteeing doctors the freedom to treat Lyme disease as they clinically see fit as long as it is well documented. RI GL § 5-37.5-4. In addition, insurance payments for these treatments shall not be denied “because such treatment may be characterized as unproven, experimental, or investigational in nature.” RI GL 27-18/29/20 “Mandatory coverage for certain Lyme disease treatments.” However, these lawfully enacted rights and freedoms have been purposefully obscured, denied, and totally disregarded since their enactment. This failure to regard the law has caused truly unmeasurable amounts of physical, financial, emotional and spiritual pain and suffering for many citizens in the state of Rhode Island. Total individual financial burdens in our state reach well into the millions of dollars, expenses paid out of pocket for treatments and medicines denied and “forbidden”. Doctors continue to live in fear, with many refusing any Lyme patient, and others working “under the radar”. We ask that you insure enforcement of our Lyme laws, and thereby fully establish our rights and freedoms for competent, compassionate and fear free care for the tick borne diseases in Rhode Island. Thank You/Signed Your Name --------------------- National and international signatures welcome! And please do comment, particularly if you, your family members, animals and pets, friends or acquaintances live, work and/or “play” in Rhode Island and have been challenged by the inability of our medical delivery system to deliver, accurate, humane and compassionate care for our tick borne diseases. And please, do share, good numbers do count, and every one of your signatures are important. To Good Health, And Thank You... Obama: Do not follow the Clintons' Path, Reject Wall Street Speaker FeesThe Obamas can, and judging by their recent book deals will, earn lots of money. They need not do it by accepting speaker fees from Wall Street firms. Obama should cancel his September speech and not accept the $400,000 fee from Cantor Fitzgerald.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stefan Johnson

Ask President Obama to Donate His $400,000 Speaking Fee to the ACLU & Planned ParenthoodThere is a lot of negative publicity about President Obama's Speaking fees. The President could lead us by example by donating to the ACLU, NAACP LDF, SPLC, and Planned Parenthood. Other public figures should do the same with their personal millions of dollars. There are many Americans who never see $400,000 in their lifetimes. Use this money for the public good.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Emma Gold

Make Florida Law Enforcement Disclose Cell Phone SurveillanceThe practice of secretly gathering private information without cause is a violation of the 4th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Law enforcement officials have abused the power that these tools give them, which threatens the very foundation of our freedom. This practice must be stopped immediately.40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Adam S. Boarman

Boycott Fox NewsIt is about the improper precedent of rewarding those who have created a predatory environment at Fox News. Such behavior should not be rewarded with contract payouts or by making settlements to keep those who have been victimized silent.22 of 100 SignaturesCreated by nancy friedman

Sanction United Airlines and protect all passengers immediatelyYesterday, United Airlines and Chicago aviation police officers forcibly removed a passenger from a flight that the airline overbooked—pulling him from his seat and dragging him through the aisles. Video captured by outraged passengers shows the man, with a bloody face, being dragged through the plane. United Airlines, which overbooked the flight, had chosen the man, it said, at random—and the man, who other passengers say is a doctor who needed to return home to see patients, refused to leave. This is the latest alarming incident involving passengers having their basic rights and freedoms infringed upon on a domestic flight. People of color also bear the brunt of deteriorating rights on domestic flights—that this passenger, who identifies as being Chinese, was treated this way follows the many instances of people of color being mistreated on domestic flights. The industry must be regulated to protect passengers. United Airlines issued a blanket apology to all of the passengers on the flight, and CEO Oscar Munoz released a statement saying they would call for a "detailed review" of the actions of their employees. But that is not enough. The United States Department of Transportation oversees the airline industry. It's time for the U.S. DOT to reign in the airline corporations and law enforcement officers who act outside of human decency. The U.S. DOT must sanction United Airlines and immediately adopt a passenger bill of rights that ensures all passengers can travel without fear of humiliation, harassment, or assault.16,244 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Corinne Ball
