• Let Third Parties Debate
I am Craig Bowden, one of the candidates running for Utah's 1st Congressional District. Several third party candidates, including me, are on the ballot this November but are being excluded from participating in the debates, even though the debates are being held on tax payer funded venues like universities. Supporters feel that in order for true non-partisanship and voter education, ballot qualified candidates should be allowed to debate.

  • Swings Needed at Sweetbriar Creek Park
The Penn Township Community Park at Sweetbriar Creek is a very nice attraction for the residents of Sweetbriar Creek and neighboring communities; however the park is greatly underutilized due to it not holding children’s attention that other parks do. The lack of swings is a common complaint among children in the area that visit this park. We respectfully request Penn Township fund the installation of high back full bucket swings (baby/toddler swings) and belt swings (older children swings) at Penn Township Community Park at Sweetbriar Creek within the next year using existing Township funds that are already in reserve for this purpose.

  • Newnan! Protect Residential Homes in the College-Temple Historic District
We live around the corner from this property, which was condemned by the City of Newnan in the fall of 2013 and should have been torn down (http://www.times-herald.com/local/20140708-Newnan-to-negotiate-for-second-entrance-to-Newnan-Centre). The previous owners were foreclosed and allowed squatters to live in the building without proper sanitation. New apartments are no longer allowed in RU-I zoned districts and the new owners are responsible to those zoning ordinances. The city planning department has already recommended denying the request and we believe that the BZA will do the same provided that the neighborhood shows that we not support the new owner’s request.

  • Jojo Should Be At Home
A dear friend Josephine Gurule, AKA Jojo, is innocent of the charges being brought against her by the state. The substandard representation she has been given by 3 Public Defenders and the tolerance of the Court are proof of the need for oversight.

  • Lift the ban on E-cigs in Greenbrier County
I want the county I live in to change their clean air act so that people can use their electronic cigarettes and personal vaping devices inside. Leave it up to individual business owner to make the choice as to wether or not people can do this in their establishments. By banning them they are forcing people who have quit smoking to have to be in designated smoking areas.

  • Keep Our Neighborhood Safe
Self-storage facilities can increase traffic of individuals carrying large loads they are unaccustomed to transporting and large vehicle traffic, increase illegal and unsafe storage of hazardous chemicals and materials, and invite dangerous individuals and activities into school zones and neighborhoods. Even Self-Storage Association, in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security, sent an alert to self-storage owners and managers about the potential for illegal use of these units in connection with terrorism. Our elementary school and family neighborhood is not an appropriate site for this large industrial facility. Furthermore, the East Rockville Neighborhood Plan, and the Rockville Master Plan call for limiting the Industrial Development of the Southlawn/Redgate area to prevent negative impact on the "character and quality" of the surrounding residential areas. The goals and objectives of the already approved Neighborhood Plan include: -The East Rockville community wishes to retain its existing sense of identity as a quiet, secure, residential neighborhood. -All other land uses adjacent to East Rockville must enhance the community. -Ensure that institutional, commercial, and industrial uses within and adjacent to the community do not impact on the residential quality of life in the neighborhood. This 4-level, 800-900-unit self-storage facility is proposed to be six times the size of the existing structure, negatively impacting the character and quality of our neighborhood, and introduces an ‘unacceptable risk’ to the safety of families and children, and our identity as a safe and secure school zone and neighborhood.

  • kenx video take down!
The reason why i started this petition is because Kenx 50 had said a lot of negative messages which made us angry and we all made videos about him and we feel the need to put stop to it. He talked negative about our race and our culture and the deaf community. He insulted everyone and he made videos on Youtube and Facebook. We wanted his videos to be taken down so that we can be at peace. He is abusing our emotions and we feel that we are vitcim of abuse emotions. To the deaf community, please sign if you agree that Kenx50's videos should be taken down. Thank you for your time.

  • Cut us some Slack
Our Slacklining community is unjustley being asked to take down lines in our local parks and beaches stunting our excersise, balance, and growth. As an up and coming sport for the youth and adults alike our community should be proactive, working with local slack liners to create a designated slack lining area as Santa Monica did for their slack lining community one year ago by granting a small portion of beach for their park to be built.

  • Support Animal Welfare & Human Health: End Cruel Factory-Farming
Millions of factory-farmed animals, such as cows, chickens (including cage-free), and pigs, suffer barbaric conditions and are slaughtered inhumanely, painfully. The cruel practices of factory farming must be ended and replaced with humane, respectful ways of breeding, raising, and killing animals. Animal abuse is illegal in the U.S. yet factory farms are allowed to violate these laws.”

  • Know Your State's Stream Access Laws
Montana's stream access laws are continually being challenged. Most of these challenges are the result of people having no previous knowledge of the existing laws or knowledge that is incomplete or incorrect. The people of Montana like their stream access laws and would like to see them remain unchanged. If you're looking to buy a piece of Montana you should be fully aware of all the laws that may have an impact on your property and learn to live by those laws rather than strive to change them.

  • Jails and Prisons: prisoners are human too
This is about all prisons, not just the ones mentioned here. Now some of these things have been resolved, but it still occurs in other places. This petition is being started for two reasons. My friend is a prisoner at Potosi Correctional Center in Potosi, MO. He and two other prisoners have been written up because the prison officials think that my friend strong armed them into sending money to me. (Which is not true, the other prisoners contact me from my flyers that are circulating in the jail). I do prisoner's services out of my home, prisoners higher me to do research for cases and look up things for them. Now just because I am on my friend's visiting list (which I didn't know I was because in 2006 I got Denied), they think that my friend was involved in a conspiracy to get money in his account . Which is far from the case. I have sent in evidence to the contrary in the form of letters from the ones that hired me. The Caseworker Mike Laden had found all three men not guilty, yet the Warden over turned this action and found them guilty. This is not fair. I know prisoners have done their crime, but at the same time they are human just like everyone else. I am trying to get these guys out of the solitary or seg. The other reason for this petition is the fact St. Louis City Jail, in St. Louis, MO, had an inmate who was called by medical for a medical reason and that inmate didn't respond, so who let's them lay in a cell for 2 1/2 hours without anyone checking on them? ST. LOUIS CITY POLICE....They may deserve to be in jail but they are still human.

  • 20 mph speed limit for streets surrounding North Main Street School
I would like to propose a reduction of the speed limit on the streets surrounding North Main Street in the Village of Monroe. This is a residential area and should not be grim thoroughfare for fast-moving cars and large industrial vehicles. Last year on Halloween a child was hit by a car right near North Main Elementary school. Most of the residents of the area surrounding the school would like to live on a quiet safe street where children can play outside and walk to school safely. The area has significant pedestrian traffic and a large number of students who walk to school. For many of our neighbors walking is the primary mode of transportation. At 20 mph, drivers make eye contact with the people in the street they are passing through. At speeds over 30 mph, drivers disassociate from the area they are passing through – treating it principally as a traffic thoroughfare for getting quickly from A to B, rather than a neighborhood where children are playing. A reduction of the speed limit may result in a decrease of the inappropriate road use. We have large numbers of trucks using our street as a thoroughfare. I have counted up to 25 in an hour. This is hard on our roads and effects the tenor of the community. The North Main is a residential area not an industrial zone.
