Although there is a National Marine Sanctuary for Humpback Whales in Hawaii, the Sanctuary has no regulations or protection for these endangered whales or their habitat. Hundreds of thousands of whales are dying annually from net entanglement, vessel strikes, military Sonar and other acoustic impacts, pollution, and fisheries by-catch. There are other human caused threats to whales including habitat degradation, and ocean acidification. The State of Hawaii co-manages the “Sanctuary”. Local fishermen have been pressuring State politicians to reject all regulations for the sanctuary, leaving whales and their habitat unprotected. The state politicians need to hear from the rest of us who do want regulations. Published research documents that our Ocean ecosystem is dying, and that protection such as speed limits, No-take Marine Protected Areas and pollution controls do help significantly. Help us be voice for the whales and get some protection for this endangered species in their mating and nursery grounds. What's the point of having a sanctuary if it's not safe? We are all responsible of the future of our kids, whether we have, we are planning on having or we simply want a better future for the next generation. So, it is important to denounce societal behavior that can put them at risk.

Hats should be allowed in school, because I use hats as a way to express myself. There should be a limit, I understand, because if a student goes to school in a ski mask and does something illegal, the police will have a hard time catching him/her. Our animal control and shelters are being overwhelmed due to the overproduction of puppy mills. Which means they can not be used for their original purposes. They were created to take in strays until their owners can claim them, (or re-home them, if not), and to save pets from abusive conditions. What they are now being forced to do is EUTHANIZE MILLIONS OF PETS EVERY YEAR. This is not humane and is no longer acceptable. PUPPY MILLS ARE GLUTTING THE SYSTEM!

In the heart of the Forest Hills/Woodbourne neighborhood lies three neglected city owned land plots. This Jamaica Plain neighborhood is very dog friendly, but lacks a dog park or off-leash dog area. Dog owners take advantage of green spaces like nearby Parkman Playground or Forest Hills Cemetery. However, maintaining leash laws means recognizing the realities of shared spaces. Turn the Barlow Street plots into a dog park because securing the safety of everyone in the community should be a priority.

Twelve years ago, a group of vegetarians, most of whom were Hindus and Buddhists, successfully sued McDonald's for putting beef broth into its so-called "vegetarian" French fries. McDonald's agreed to apologize and give over 10 million dollars. But twelve years later, they're still cooked in it! It's disgraceful, unfair to vegetarians, and must be stopped!

I have seen the affects of alcohol has on a drunk driver who killed someone, and left him severly hurt, devestated, and in jail. I also have seen a drunk driver kill a friend of mine.

End, once and for all the "deregulation" of electricity in TX. Electricity is not a competitive market, we don't have to be "sold" on buying electricity--thus every add that's run is a waste of resources. The real monopolies were not dissolved, but were insulated by deregulation.
