• Pardon Don Seigleman
Former Alabama governor Seigleman and his family have suffered enough. Don's primary crime is being a popular Democrat in a republican state.

  • Tell Joe Walsh to stop spreading irresponsible accusations
At a town hall last week, Joe Walsh said, "There is a radical strain of Islam in this country, it's not just over there, trying to kill Americans every week. It is a real threat, and it is a threat that is much more at home now than it was right after 9/11. It's here. It's in Elk Grove, it's in Addison, it's in Elgin, it's here.” Elected officials carry the weight of their office when they speak and they have a responsibility to choose their words wisely. Walsh’s hyperbole and extreme rhetoric isn’t just offensive–it creates a climate of danger and fear.

  • Publicly Funded Elections
Elections should be funded only by public moneys. That way our elected representatives will know that their performance must be in the public's interest, and the public can expect their elected representatives to represent them as should be done in our country.

  • The right of "we the people" to vote
The efforts presently underway in a number of states to disenfranchise selected categories of voters, particularly minorities and the elderly are morally wrong and should be illegal.

  • Release all census forms 10 years after they are taken
Millions of people have started researching their family tree and are interested in not only the past but also locating and connecting with family members. Releasing the census records would aid and assist in documenting family history and connect with living family members. I have located and connected with a few paternal relatives and I am searching for more.

  • More debates. More parties.
As the campaigns grind inexorably towards election day, most of the candidates for office are ignored by the media. It is time for any brave media outlet to fill the void in American politics. Don't complain that you were not invited to host a debate, Invite the third party candidates to debate. More voices, more better.

  • California Gun Control- Support of SB249
In light of the recent Sikh Massacre in Oak Creek Wisconsin and the Movie Theater Massacre in Aurora Colorado, We believe it is essential to strengthen our expiating assault weapon ban legislation here in California for the protection of our citizens. California Senator Leland Yee's Gun Control Bill SB 249 is an honest attempt to do this and needs to enacted, in this Election Year.

  • Politicians: Save Our Climate for Our Children and Grandchildren.
I have four grandchildren whose life prospects are dismal if global warming due to green house gases continues to be effectively ignored. The behavior of the US House, Senate, and President is unbelievable in the face of this threat. We should not vote for any politician who does not make clear his or her support for effective action on global warming. This is in fact a national defense issue.

  • Iowa State Fair Board: Publicly Denounce Hank Williams, Jr.'s Ugly Remarks Made During His August...
Hank Williams Jr. played to a crowd of nearly 8,500 Friday night, August 17th, at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand. Following the song “We Don’t Apologize For America” a chant of “USA, USA” broke out amongst the crowd. Williams smiled, telling the crowd that he was their mouth piece, adding: “We’ve got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the U.S. and we hate him!” The Fair Board had to have known what they were signing on for when they booked this performer. They apparently did so with no regard for the values celebrated by the Iowa State Fair. Let them know that they need to publicly denounce Williams' ugly remarks and apologize to the people of Iowa for including this performer in this year's Grandstand line-up. The Board needs to acknowledge its serious lapse in judgment in scheduling this show and to promise that Hank Williams, Jr. will not be welcomed back to the Fair in the future.
