Accessiblity for state parksLoving nature has always been an important part of my life. But now that I am in a wheelchair at the age of 18, needing to be amongst nature is vital to my physical and mental health. Nature provides JOY, RESPITE, and PEACE to many who seek out its beauty. Individuals with physical disabilities, such as myself, don't always have access to their state or national parks due to the lack of ACCESSIBILITY for all state and national parks. I would like to appeal to all physically challenged individuals and those who care about them to sign this petition.102 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Claire Weyand

Help Keep Warwick Neck kids safe! Our Neighborhood over the past several years has had many delivery trucks take down our power lines to our homes, take out our trees, driving on our lawns to bypass opposite traffic, speeding, drag racing and throwing litter on our lawns. This needs to stop! We have asked to have speed bumps put in place and police presence. The cost of the police presence each day and the cost of the speed bumps eventually cost more in the end than actually having a road paved. This is one great reason as to why the City Of Warwick should take over the entrance to the club (Chatfield Street) and keep its taxpayers and their families safe! On Clifton Ave alone, there are 8 children who can't ride their bikes, play basketball, or even go for a walk because the traffic is out of control! I have spoken to Joe Noel on many occasions and he is willing to gift the road to the city. Let's sign this and get the correct street paved and taken over by the city! We pay enough in taxes to live in Warwick, let's be able to enjoy it at least!20 of 100 SignaturesCreated by erin

Vote NO on the proposed 110 foot Office Tower at 218 S. Lamar / Shlotzsky's siteThe Butler Shores & Zilker Park communities want Austin City Council to adhere to the Waterfront Overlay Ordinance height limit of 60 feet. We are opposed to: - the city granting an exception to the 60-foot height limit - the city building an office tower at the expense of providing more housing choices - the city accelerating displacement of existing businesses on Barton Springs Road This is a neighborhood and is also the gateway to Zilker Park. The area is also set to become a Cultural Arts District with the relocation of the Dougherty Arts Center. Please say NO to anything in the area that exceeds the WOO height limit.106 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kristin L McCollam

Stop the Widening of I-495/I-270On December 18, the three-member Board of Public Works is scheduled to take a vote on amendments for the controversial $11 billion I-495 Beltway/I-270 widening project. If passed, amendments would allow the state to take properties before environmental review; backtrack on the promise to share revenue for transit; change the project phasing; and expedite the construction schedule. We all want congestion relief, but the current plan will not provide it. In other communities, high-toll “luxury lanes” are not attractive to wealthy commuters unless standard lanes have significant backups. To reduce congestion, we must focus on moving people, not automobiles, and significantly incorporate viable transit into the project. We also have significant concerns about the nearly 1,500 homes that could be impacted by the combined project. And the project as planned will undo millions of dollars in downcounty stormwater projects and destroy parks and streams. To reduce congestion, we must focus on moving people, not automobiles. For all of these reasons, it will be a terrible mistake if the Board of Public Works (Governor Hogan, Comptroller Franchot and Treasurer Kopp) approves these amendments next week. This project cannot be allowed to go forward without a traffic study showing that it will work, without a fiscal analysis, and without an Environmental Impact Statement.6,173 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Tom Hucker

We say NO to Industry City's Rezoning of Sunset ParkSunset Park has the largest, working-class industrial waterfront in Brooklyn, but Industry City wants to turn it into a playground for the rich. Industry City wants to change current zoning to build large chain retail stores and luxury hotels, which may lead to luxury housing. We must protect long-time residents, workers, and small, locally-owned businesses from rising rents and displacement. This is our neighborhood. We should be deciding the future of our waterfront and neighborhood, not private developers like Industry City. Centennial Park Mobile Home Noise BarrierVehicles are traveling extremely close to our homes and will be even closer once the MN pass lane is built. A semi-truck just flew off the side of the road and would have struck one of our homes except there was a pile of wood chippings from the tree and bush removal to build the new lane.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Preston

CHANGE the NAME of Jefferson Davis Hwy in Stafford County, VAAs I drive south through Stafford County on I-95, just before the Garrisonville Road exit, I always see the huge sign that says “To Jefferson Davis Highway” and it just rattles me. What a way to welcome folks to the county. Why do we still have a primary highway in Stafford County that honors a racist traitor who led the fight to take up arms against our nation, in order to preserve the savage system of slavery? We still live with the terrible legacy of slavery, the ruthless and once-legal system of terror that represents America’s greatest shame. I was in Charlottesville on Aug. 12, 2017, peacefully protesting against the Neo-Nazis and the Unite the Right Rally. I experienced the hate personally and it needs to stop now. We live in a post-Charlottesville time. And the vast majority of Stafford County, VA, residents no longer want to honor the Confederacy atrocity or the racist legacy of Jefferson Davis. Change the name of the highway now!57 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Bill Johnson-Miles

Let's Do Lido Landscaping RIGHT!Background It has come to our attention that Lido Island Community Association (LICA) Board of Directors (Board) and the Major Capital Improvements Committee (MCIC) have requested permission from the City of Newport Beach to redesign the medians, the windows to the bay and other public spaces on the island. The cost is estimated upwards of $100,000. Due to this cost and the extent of the proposed landscape changes, we, the undersigned, request such improvements undergo further and more comprehensive input from residents. An island-wide improvement is planned. However, information has been shared inequitably among residents about proposed changes. In February, Lido Isle residents whose homes border the landscaped islands located on Piazza Lido received a hand-delivered flyer informing them of an MCIC decision to re-landscape the Piazza medians. The flyer also invited these particular residents to attend a February 26 meeting at the Clubhouse to review proposed plans for Piazza Lido only. For most recipients, this notice was the first news of the project although meeting minutes of LICA Board (2/13/19) and MCIC (1/31/19) appear in the March 2019 Lido Islander. Residents living on other streets, i.e.non-recipients of the flyer, were given no notice of the February 26 meeting. To wit, the landscaping of the Piazza Lido medians is part of a larger plan to re-landscape all medians on Lido (Via Antibes; Via Genoa and Via San Remo) as well as parks off main streets on the island (Via Firenze, Koron/Soud, Orvieto/Soud, Waziers/Soud, Antibes/Nord). While efforts to improve the island landscapes are appreciated, many of the residents whose homes face the medians as well as others who pass by them daily, have specific concerns about the proposed improvements. At the same time, updating the Landscape Design Guidelines for Lido Isle is crucial. These guidelines will bring a comprehensive design to all landscapes on Lido in conformance with City standards and will serve as a template for future island improvements. Islanders deserve attractive landscapes consistent with other areas of comparable property values overseen by homeowner’s associations, for example, Newport Coast and Emerald Bay. Any proposed design should be in keeping with Lido’s Mediterranean heritage and consider water-wise garden practices as is consistent with Mediterranean landscapes. All Lido property owners’ dues ensure them input into decisions made in their interest. With the extraordinary resources available on Lido we should be setting the highest standard for innovation, conservation, and aesthetics within the City and beyond. While the undersigned appreciate the time and effort LICA has expended on these projects, we request further community-wide discussions before moving forward on any landscaping projects now under consideration. These issues affect all Lido residents. Concerns include the establishment of updated design guidelines by qualified professionals that provide for unity of design and plantings on Lido in conformance with City standards as well as equitable input by residents.39 of 100 SignaturesCreated by heather hendrickson

Protect Our Food Stamp ProgramPromise the Children supports the development of healthy children and families. Our nation's Food Stamp Program is an anti-hunger program whose only purpose is to help our most vulnerable neighbors eat. Restricting food stamps will only lead to more hunger and homelessness and these proposed cuts should be stopped.38 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Promise the Children
