• "Fast Food Restaurants: include first Non GMO Verified menu item"
Eating food with Genetically Modified Organisms has been shown in scientific studies to cause organ failure and tumors in rats. After seeing a family member struggle to survive a liver and kidney transplant I do not want other families to go through this experience. This is why I am challenging fast food chains to have a Non GMO Verified item on their menus.

  • End The City of LA Parking Tickets Scam
If you've ever challenged the fairness of a Los Angeles parking ticket, you know you're in for a long bureaucratic nightmare. First you send them the reason your ticket is unfair. No matter how legitimate your reason, it is seldom if ever accepted. Instead, they order you to pre-pay. This scam is simply a veiled tax on motorists. Most cannot reasonably take all the steps necessary to fight a ticket through the Parking Violations Board and into Court.

  • Tell the President and Congress to Get Behind a Wall Street Speculation Tax
Here’s a way to raise hundreds of billions of dollars, get Wall Street to shoulder more of the responsibility for America’s economic recovery, curb dangerous high-frequency trading, and move the financial markets away from short-term bets and back toward job creation and useful private and public investment. A small tax on sales of stocks, bonds, and complex financial instruments could do all of that, at no noticeable cost to ordinary investors or families.

  • New Hampshire Can’t Wait for Medicaid Expansion!
The Senate voted to pull Medicaid expansion from the state budget, sacrificing billions in federal dollars and hundreds of jobs. This move was pure politics. The Senators who voted this way are willing to leave 58,000 Granite Staters uninsured just so they can say they did everything in their power to defeat "ObamaCare". They claim that accepting the federal funds is a "gamble" even though they know D.C. has always kept its Medicaid promises and even helped states more during tough economic times. The fight's not over yet! The next stop is the Committee of Conference between the Senate and House. Sign the petition below to let your State Senator know that New Hampshire will not miss out on an opportunity to do the right thing in order to help our friends and neighbors here in the Granite State.

  • Rep. Cantor: Stop playing political games and pass immigration reform
As Speaker Boehner's right-hand man, Eric Cantor is one of the most powerful Republicans in the House. Ever since Latino and immigrant voters decided the outcome of the 2012 election, he has talked about the need to fix our broken immigration system. In fact, few Republicans have appeared to embrace this change more than Eric Cantor from Virginia. Earlier this year, Cantor even said about the children of undocumented immigrants, "A good place to start is with the kids. One of the great founding principles of our country was that children would not be punished for the mistakes of their parents." But while Rep. Cantor's rhetoric has changed, his extreme ideology apparently has not. Instead of standing with immigrants when it really counts, he has turned his back on these young people and sided with the extremists in his party. This is DC hypocrisy at its worst! Until last year, nearly a million children of undocumented immigrants were restricted from doing many basic things like driving, going to college, or applying for jobs. Their immigration status forced them to live in the shadows and prevented them from pursuing their American Dream. But last year these young people -- often called DREAMers -- and the entire immigrant community won a huge victory when President Obama announced the deferred action policy which allowed them to finally come out of the shadows and pursue their dreams through a temporary fix to their status. Recently, Rep. Cantor sided with the extremists shamefully trying to dismantle this victory and voted to block all funding to the program and put DREAMers at risk of deportation. While his vote was mostly a symbolic gesture, since there’s no chance the House bill as it is will be passed by the Senate, this was a direct attack on children and young immigrants. Americans are looking for leadership on immigration reform, not more attacks. Please join us in telling Rep. Cantor we're tired of his party's political games. It's time we pass immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship.

  • GOP House Leadership: Stop playing political games and pass immigration reform
House Republicans are at it again. Their recent attack on young immigrants shows just how far they are willing to go to please the extremists in their party. Until last year, nearly a million children of undocumented immigrants were restricted from doing many basic things like driving, going to college, or applying for jobs. Their immigration status forced them to live in shadows and prevented them from pursuing their American Dream. But last year these young people -- often called DREAMers -- and the entire immigrant community won a huge victory when President Obama announced the deferred action policy which allowed them to finally come out of the shadows and pursue their dreams through a temporary fix to their status. Now nearly all Republican members of the House are shamefully trying to dismantle this victory by blocking all funding to the program and putting DREAMers at risk of deportation. While this vote was mostly a symbolic gesture (since there’s no chance the House bill as is will be passed by the Senate), this was a direct attack on children and young immigrants. Our community is looking for leadership on immigration reform, not more attacks. Please join us in telling the GOP House leadership that we're tired of their party's political games. It's time we pass immigration reform with a pathway to citizenship.
