This petition asks Govenor Perry to stop playing politics with the lives of Texans by rejecting millions of dollars from President Obama's Patient Bill of Rights. By accepting the Patient Bill of Rights, Texas, the number one state in the nation for providing poor healthcare to it's citizens, would provide millions of citizens with healthcare and also create more jobs in doing so.

It's about contractors workers who are not paid public holidays/sicktime and vacation. Yes it has affected me in the sense I did not make enough in 1 week to survive. Just because I did not work for 1 and a half day.

Update on SFMTA activities! Our first two requests were met some time ago. At this point, SFMTA has painted itself into such a tight corner by destroying too much and angering too many citizens. There are too many complaints for the Board of Supervisors to ignore. The voters denied the SFMTA any additional sales tax funds that will cut hundreds of thousands of dollars out of their budget. Now they plan to raise the bridge tolls and charge the cash-paying riders more money to take the Muni. The next ballot initiative to consider is PROPOSITION 6 that would repeal the gas bill.

Tie tax breaks to new job creation here in the States rather than giving blanket reductions.

A petition to demand that the Justice Department immediately begin legal proceedings against those states that are illegally trying to subvert the vote of millions of citizens, by trying to suppress their abilities to vote. My 11 year-old twin sons have autism. Autism and food allergy rates have skyrocketed at the same time that genetically modified foods entered our food supply. Genetically modified foods have been linked to toxic and allergic reactions in people; to sick, sterile, and dead livestock; and to damage to virtually every organ studied in lab animals. Like every other American, I should have a right to know if the food I buy for my kids is genetically modified.

Every year our pool offers less and less hours for taxpayers who actually pay for the pool are able to use it. I am an avid swimmer in Florida–I want the pool to be open so I can use it. Once "summer" ends & school begins, the pool closes on saturdays. Once October comes the two nights a week the pool is open from June to October close. The rest of the year: October thru June the pool is open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. I work as a teacher, own a house, so I pay property tax, and cannot use my city's pool! It is ridiculous! Ideas I have thought of is to sue the city because as a resident and tax payer I cannot use my rec center's pool. In the afternoon, the pool is rented out to a private entity. (Citizens used to have 3 lanes to use during the afternoon, now none). Obviously, Florida is hot just about all year long–the pool should be available all year long! 2nd idea, like Gandhi's non-violent actions, I would like to petition citizens who cannot use the pool to escrow the portion of their taxes that go to the operation of the pool until they open the pool, make it accessible to tax payers. Fitness counts, so does a healthy lifestyle! The director of the pool makes a good salary. He should be held accountable to make the pool accessible or lose his job. The president's council agrees that a healthy lifestyle is important. Let's leave the pool open for all citizens of Largo, Florida to use on a daily basis!

Events like First Friday and other special festivities have brought life to Chinatown and revitalized the area, drawing in visitors that support local businesses and keep Chinatown thriving.
