Over 1/2 million legally registered voters in PA are at risk for losing their right to vote this November. Getting a Pennsylvania State ID is especially difficult for seniors, who in many cases have been voting legally for decades. PennDOT locations are not convenient for non-drivers and their hours are limited causing excessively long waits. We respectfully ask for a "stay of execution" of this law until after the election to give everyone the time to comply. Rep. Metcalfe said: "I don’t believe any legitimate voter that actually wants to exercise that right and takes on the according responsibility that goes with that right to secure their photo ID will be disenfranchised... If individuals are too lazy, the state can’t fix that." Yes, but maybe us, as voters, can fix stupid. This law doesn't stop fraud, it only stops voting. We cannot count on the Courts. The Dept of State keeps changing the requirements, confusing everyone. We, the people, have to take action so please sign and share so the PA assembly pays attention when it is delivered to them in Harrisburg next week. Employers that hold over 30 employees should be mandated to pay their full time female employees who have worked for them over a year a min of 6 weeks of maternity leave. There are many employers who currently do provide paid maternity leave to their employees but many who do not. Government employees currently have to use their sick/vacation time in order to take maternity leave. If they do not have the time they may be allowed to take advance leave that must be paid back when they return to work. The other option if you do not have vacation or sick time is to take leave without pay. Missing even one paycheck can send a family into poverty. Also when you are on leave without pay the government does pay your health insurance premiums but they make you pay them back when you return to work. This of course will put the family in further debt. So again, I am pushing for all employers, including the federal government to pay their female employees 6 weeks of paid maternity leave at their regular rate of pay.

Many wealthy Americans are avoiding taxes by stashing their money in Swiss bank accounts and other offshore accounts. How is this fair? If any American makes money in any financial account anywhere in the world they should declare that as income and pay their fair share of taxes.

I've seen in NY how employees who reach an agreement on unpaid wages, or overtime with an employer, receive their settlement pay, but this is heavely burdened by unpaid taxes, which is not the employee's fault. I think that the necessary legislative modification should be made in this respect, and make the employers pay those deductions instead of the workers. In this sense, it is the employers who illegally retain wages by not paying regular minimum wage or over time,and therefore avoding taxes, which means that they broke the labor law primarily. So, when a settlement supervised by a court, or court ruling is achieved, the corresponding employees' tax withholdings that were not deducted in time due to the employer broke the labor law, should be transferred to the employer as a punishment for all the time they did not legally pay minimum wage or overtime, and let the worker obtain a just and compensatory relief, instead of a thin check after taxes which wouldn't reflect the hardship many workers go through due to the employer primarily breaking of the law. This proposal may involve legal intricacies for it involves not only the Labor Law but the IRS and other possible legal codes. However, I am certain that the employer should not be left off the hook once again, especially when it comes to employ undocumented workers.

Unfortunately, the IUCN leadership has ignored or whitewashed the naval base. The Voter Protection Law

Fox News revealed the identity of Navy SEAL involved in the Osama Bin Laden raid which put his life in danger and jeapradized our National Security. DOJ needs to take action at Fox news for this breach.

Other developed countries watch our health care debate and shake their heads. Most of them have cradle to grave coverage based on the reduced costs that single payer insurance provides. Health, like energy and democracy should not be cash cows for corporations. So called "Obama Care" merely hands the HMO's more customers. It does not reduce costs or allow citizens and doctors to make health care decisions.

We have seen enough of this uncontrollable and dastardly form of energy to know that nuclear power is indeed a deal made with the devil. 3 Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima have made it clear that no one can guarantee nuclear safety either in its operations or its disposal. A human being who lives a few decades cannot say what will happen to nuclear waste that lasts up to 250,000 years!

I spent 3 nights in jail for possession of a small amount of marijuana. I'm 59 years old and have smoked every day for the last 43 years proving that no "War on Drugs" works so why don't we quit wasting our resourses and legalize it already.

Since the Supreme Court's unfortunate and unwise decision to allow unlimited contributions from corporations AND without the requirement to reveal the sources, our political system has been poisoned by Big Money. In the capitalist business realm the rule is one dollar one vote. We cannot allow this rule to preside in the democratic realm. We must keep the one PERSON one vote rule as our guiding principle.
