Limit Congress PayMinimum pay for a member of Congress is $174,000 as of 2011. This is an increase of over $30,000 within the past ten years alone! This does not include health benefits, retirement, pension and what they earn from PACs or from shell companies and family members employed by lobbies and PACs. Many members of Congress are millionaires and have seen a growth in personal wealth of about 16% during this recession. It is time to stop the abuse and return to the original intent of "public servant".3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lyssette Salazar

Tell Linda McMahon: Connecticut deserves a debate on jobs nowWhat would you choose: jobs for your community, or a $7 million tax cut for Linda McMahon? And what if that tax cut was funded by eliminating teaching jobs and veterans benefits? Well, that’s "Linda's Plan." It's no wonder her campaign has refused to immediately kick off the general election campaign with a series of debates about jobs. We created a petition to demonstrate public support for such a debate. Add your name to it today.2,462 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Nick Fabiani

TAXESWhy don't we just let the Bush Tax cuts expire and save SS and Medicare and bring down our debt. Shouldn't every American pay a little more to save the middle class and poor?2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Joanne Dobies

Acknowledge your vote.Remember when Iraq voted and came away with the Purple finger to signify the fact they voted. They turned out in overwhelming numbers, Every Middle Eastern Country allowed to vote do so in overwhelming numbers. So do any country other than the United States of America. I propose some type of recognition readily seen to acknowledge those who cast their ballot. Be it Democrat, Republican or Independent. At least they voted.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jim Tomes

Americans for PURE FUELEthanol is bad for the fuel supply, reduces mpg, costs more than its worth, diverts corn from the food supply, corrodes engine parts. In short- ethanol for transportation fuel is hurting, not helping America. I've replaced two chainsaw and three string trimmer carbs because of ethanol corrosion. Never mind lawn mower and boat engines. At least offer the option of pure gasoline.40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Chainsaw Johnny

Unseal the Warren Commission ReportEveryone involved in the assassination of President John F. Kennedy is dead by now. But many of us affected by that terrible day in Dallas are still alive and wondering. WE WANT TO KNOW THE TRUTH! OUR LIVES WERE CHANGED, OUR HISTORY WAS CHANGED! We just want to know the the results of the commission investigation before we die too.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rachel Resnikoff

Pledge for LegislatorsAlmost all Republican legislators are coerced to sign a pledge to vote no on any tax legislation. Our tax code needs to be fluid so it can meet changing needs of our country, and legislators need to work together so that it is fair. Any financial crisis needs to be solved with a combination of refined strategies for revenue AND reduced spending. Most republicans know are fully aware of this but cannot vote intelligently because of the pledge they signed for Grover Norquist. It is crippling our governments ability to function intelligently on behalf of society. See 60 Minutes' piece on Grover Norquist. It's appalling.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Chris Cunningham

Congress: Hold Generic Drug Manufacturers Liable for Injuries to ConsumersThe Supreme Court has ruled (2011) that consumers who are injured from taking generic drugs (70% - 80% of prescriptions) cannot sue for injuries if their sole theory of liability is that the warning label was inadequate. The Doctrine of Preemption prevents them from being sued and they are not required to conduct clinical trials on drugs. My daughter took a generic version of Chlomid, a fertility pill which is linked to birth defects and as a result, my granddaughter (now age 5) was born with heart defects and other complications. She has undergone two open heart surgeries and will need more. There is no legal recourse because she was given a generic drug by the pharmacist; a decision my daughter had no voice in.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by carla sommers

Stop our dependence on foreign oil now!Our dependence on foreign fuel has involved us in multiple foreign wars and threatens the very nature of our society. Stop our dependence on foreign fuel now and free our society and economy from the horrible drain that such monitoring, policing, crippling investment causes. Develop environmentally and economically viable alternative fuels that would allow us to break this downward spiraling behavior of having to depend often times hostile foreign concerns.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Tom Sherman
