Sign this petition to request the US Congress establish a federal holiday on election day and name it 'We the People Day', with our elections being the only business underway on that day.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Colorado Voter Protection

Delay PA Voter ID LawI don't think the vast number of voters know just how disruptive and dangerous the new Voter ID Law will be if it goes into effect this November. Allow me to share my own eye-opening experience. I have been voting for over 40 years, 20 at my current polling place. But, I decided to check my driver's license against my voter registration after reading some of the stories about folks who may not be able to vote this fall. Turns out, my driver's license identifies me as "Janet A. Gray" and my voter registration identifies me as "Janet G. Gray." A call to the Allegheny County Election Bureau confirmed that because of the discrepancy with my middle initial, I would not be able to vote. Now I must fill out a special form to ensure there will be no problem. So even though I have been voting at the same place for 20 years and am personally recognizable to the polling officials there, I would be prevented from voting in November because of my middle initial. There is no doubt that many voters will be unable to vote in November due to this harsh new law. The state of Pennsylvania first has an obligation to ensure that all citizens who are eligible to vote are able to do so, as is their right, before the law is implemented. That will obviously not be the case in November. Our governor and legislature must halt implementation for a year so all citizens can get the proper ID, and provide free voter ID cards through the election bureaus, local government entities, and by any other means necessary. Since sending my story to friends, I have already heard from a handful who may have the same problem. We are talking about taking the right to vote away from folks who have been voting for 20 years or more. Implementation of this law must be delayed.217 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Jan Gray

Share The roadsI was recently a victim of a hit and run while riding my bicycle on Towana Road. I think the shoulders and roads over there need to expand to allow the flow of traffic along with bicyclers and pedestrians. I also think it is time for Richmond to pass a law mandating that three feet should be the minimum distance when passing a bike, expand the "following too closely" law to include following bicyclers, and that bicycle lanes be expanded throughout the city.289 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Shaun Reardon

Voter SuppressionI am on limited income and in the process of moving. I live in a Republican run town. Money is and makes the Law here, I have found that what I have to say is or has not ever been heard! I live here to take care of my parents, so I have taken a lot and lost a lot. If I would have had money or owned land I may have had a chance for a fair fight.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Gail

No religious Indoctrination in Kentucky SchoolsRecently there are has been a push by Kentucky Republicans to force Kentucky Schools to teach creationism in science classes to indoctrinate what is "faith"and "religion" based dogma as potential truth. My daughter Emily does not need to be assaulted with the "faith" of others insisting a religious myth is true. Public school is not about indoctrinating faith and this needs to be halted. This indoctrination of faith imposes on the sanctity of families to instill in their children that families system of beliefs and means of discerning truth.8 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robert D Moreland

John Boehner please denounce Rep Akin's "Legitimate Rape" commentsWe want Speaker Boehner to take action and denounce Representative Todd Akin's recent comments. In case you missed it, on television 8-19-12, Rep. Akin said that victims of "legitimate rape" hardly ever get pregnant and that "if it's legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down." Rep. Akin has since said he "misspoke," but he continues to believe that women should be forced to carry and give birth to babies that are the result of rape. As speaker of the House, John Boehner should denounce Akin's outrageous "legitimate rape" comments—and he also has the power remove Rep. Akin from the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee.341 of 400 SignaturesCreated by Lucy Owsley

Help Keep Legal Immigrants Out of LimboWith all the national attention on undocumented immigrants, USCIS seems to be getting behind on their paperwork. Hundreds of US Citizens trying to immigrate their families, spouses, and fiances are forced to wait while government workers are backlogged under paperwork. It's time we bring some attention to legal immigration and get things moving. No US Citizen or legal immigrant should be separated from their loved ones any longer than necessary. The current promised processing time for most application is five months and many applications are exceeding 12 months and still outstanding. And that only accounts for the time applicants wait for their petitions to be initially viewed. It can take many months after that until a visa is granted. In the past, some applications were processed in 90 days or less. What's the holdup?253 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Trevor Gast

Pocatello Human Rights City OrdinanceDiscrimination against a person for being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender is wrong. The City of Pocatello should enact a Human Rights City Ordinance to protect all its residents from discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Tell Shell: No FOX news at gas pumps! As TV screens appear in more waiting areas nationwide, captive audiences are prime targets of mis-information. Recently, select Shell gas stations have appeared with a TV screen embedded in each pump, showing a smattering of sports and ads plus, news blurbs from FOX news. This Big Brother type of brainwashing is insidious and alarming.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Virginia Wheaton

IRS: No Free Ride for Election BuyersTo avoid disclosure, billionaires are laundering their campaign donations through so-called 'social welfare' nonprofits (in IRS language, 501c4's). These organizations are tax-exempt and don't have to disclose the names of donors, supposedly because they are charitable, but in reality many of them exist for the purpose of electioneering. That means we the taxpayers are giving a free ride to the wealthy corporations and individuals who are buying our government, while we can't even find out who they are. The IRS could stop this practice by applying strict rules, but they are dragging their feet, saying they 'plan to look at' the problem sometime. We need transparency NOW.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by LM Holmes
