  • Bryan Fischer-Rescind Your Comments on Rape
Free speech is one thing, but making ignorant and dangerous comments that could effect the rights and health of the nation's women is absolutely unacceptable. Take a look at this link for a more detailed description of what Fischer stated: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/21/bryan-fischer-todd-akin-legitimate-rape-absolutely-right_n_1818285.html Allowing comments like these to flow about freely will nearly guarantee survivors being shamed, medical access being denied, and further spread misinformation throughout an already uninformed populous. If people were to hear these comments and believe them, what would happen?

  • NO I.D reqired for American citizens to vote for President of U.S.A
No American citizen should need a Photo I.D in order to vote for United States President. As long as you are 18 years old and a citizen it should be a right for any person, race, sex, to vote, without limitations. To many people have died, bleed, lost their lives in American history for any political view to stop any citizen the God given right to vote for the highest office in this land or any or political office. We should demand as a Country that as long as you are a United States citizen you should have the right to vote without limitations in the 21century.

  • "Blackfeet Tribal Business Council: Enforce Ordinance 67
The Blackfeet Constitution under Article VI-Powers of the Council, Amendment VI, reads in part under (k) that the powers of the council are responsible for the safeguarding and peace of the residents of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. It is therefore your responsibility to enact the laws that ensure the safeguarding and peace of the residents of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation; not limited to the membership only, but also yourselves as duly elected officials representing all 16,000 plus members by enforcing such laws. As members of the Blackfeet Nation we understand the Civil Liberties of all Blackfeet members which states that all members of the tribe may enjoy without hindrance freedom of worship, conscience, speech, press, assembly and association, but we also see the need to enforce Ordinance 67 that states; "Whoever forcibly assaults, threatens, practices intimidation upon, or interferes with any Blackfeet Tribal Business Council, upon conviction be fined $500.00 and six months imprisonment in the Blackfeet jail" for the purposes of safeguarding and keeping the peace not only to ensure your safety, but the safety of all members of the Blackfeet Nation before it escalates and brings harm to not only yourselves or your families, but also to any individual member or families of the Blackfeet Nation.

  • Federal Government. "Stop Taxing Seniors 70+ With Income Less Than $75,000 Annually"
In assisting seniors preparing their taxes, it affects them because they are already struggling; finding extra money to pay taxes affects their entire way of living. It is literally taking food out of their mouths and each year that it lingers by the next tax year it becomes compounded & their is absolutely no way out. It is so unfair that you have worked & been able to retire with a few dollars & the government thanks you by taking what little you have left. It's "unfair" that seniors with little income are scared into paying taxes with money they don't have. Paying taxes for seniors with minimum income pushes them over the edge & can be another reason for stress which lead to early death. I see it ever year & each year I see the tears & stress when they are told they owe taxes.

  • Governor Branstad, please support the Iowa farmers
Over the course of the last several weeks, our governor has been asked about what he and our state will do to assist in the drought that will affect all of the farmers in our state, which in turn will affect communities and businesses. He avoids that direct question, and then launches into an attack of the President and brings the conversation down to partisan politics. Keep to the topic, Governor, and avoid partisanship politics on this state and midwest topic.

  • Victoria S. Nealy: Racial and gender disparities in Mississippi's sentencing
My niece Victoria Shante Nealy was wrongfully sentenced up to 10 years in prison for a crime she was forced to plead guilty without an attorney present. The Mississippi judge sentenced her to 10 years and suspended 7, thus with 3 years to serve. This sentencing is racially motivated at best. Victoria is an African-American female, single, with two beautiful little girls who is a wonderful mother and hardworker. She was working several jobs to support her children and ill mother. She is a christian woman who will do anything to help others with an infectious personality. She has never been arrested before, no previous criminal record. She paid the money back but still was given a harsh and cruel sentence. The same crime was committed by several white females in Meridian, Mississippi but were given only probation with no jail or prison time serve. Indeed, my niece's wrongful sentencing has devastated my family to say the least. We are outraged by this verdict. We are calling on the judge, Lester Williamson to overturn the sentencing of my niece and set her free immediately. We are demanding that the racially motivated unequal sentencing of African Americans, especially African-American females to end in Mississippi's criminal justice system so that innocent people of color will not become part of a growing and evil prison industrial complex. Shalom.

  • Remove restrictions that prohibit or limit clotheslines
20% of Americans live in subdivisions that restrict or prohibit the use of clotheslines. I have been trying to get the right to dry for 5 years without success. I continue to be fined for having my clothesline visible. Clothes dryers are the second highest user of residential energy that also contributes to global warming. For the greater good, we all need to be able to conserve by using the simple benign clothesline.

  • Make Election Day a Federal Holiday
Each State in our Union currently sets their own voting policies and procedures and most of them attempt to make access to the polls easier for voters. Since election day is always on a Tuesday, the policy of early voting attempted to aid those unable to get to the polls during normal working hours. Recently, there have been efforts to curtail access to the polls, to make it harder and harder to cast a vote.. This petition would help every voter who works for a living.

  • Proscecute Pentagon Child Pornography Viewers
5,200 people in the Pentagon have been paying and viewing child pornography and with their security clearences have been immune from investigation or prosecution! This is wrong and we cannot expect to force other countries to stop this abuse when our own govenment officials are the very culprits that let this crime continue. As a mom I am appalled and disgusted that this came to light two years agoo and to date nothing has been done .
