• Be Prudent About Strip Searches
City and county governments need to be urged to limit strip searches to persons suspected of involvement in drugs or violence. The Supreme Court has approved strip searches of everyone arrested, for no matter how minor a violation, but because it's legal doesn't make it right. Indeed, in the current overheated atmosphere of the national security state, with indefinite detention, arrests for peaceful protests, and SWAT teams proliferating, we need to cool off--and rebuke the Supreme Court for scrapping the Fourth Amendment.

  • Impeachment of Obama for taking war delcaration from UN/NATO?
The president of the US should only declare war after it is approved by Congress. Its a high crime and treasonous for any president to take orders or war declaration from any other government body.

  • Arrest George Zimmerman for Disobeying a Police Officer
Facts about the George Zimmerman’ actions He was a private citizen cruising his complex looking for a "crime" to stop. When he saw Trayvon Martin, he chooses to take the opportunity to “act like a cop”. He called the non-emergency police department desk and he talked with an officer who new him by name. The officer took his information and dispatched a police officer to investigate the complaint. After the police officer told Zimmerman that an officer was on the way, the police officer determined that Zimmerman was pursuing the youth. The officer told Zimmerman NOT TO DO THAT. Florida law makes it a crime punishable by up to 1 year in jail for Disobeying a Police Officer. His actions prove he committed a crime at that time. Let the courts find him guilty. How can Zimmerman use the Stand Your Ground Law as a way to claim self-defense when his actions were a crime?

  • Amend Loan Forgiveness Cap in Student Loan Forgiveness Act of 2012
The Student Loan Forgiveness Act of 2012 (H.R. 4170) effectively addresses many issues related to financial aid and college costs, including capping the interest rates on Federal Direct Loans at 3.4 percent, changing the term of repayment for those in the public service loan forgiveness program from 10 years to 5 years, and opening up eligibility for forgiveness for all student loan holders. This act places a cap of $45,520 on the amount of student loans eligible for forgiveness, which reasonably addresses the cost of financing an undergraduate education. Students entering the public service professions will most likely need to earn a graduate degree to qualify for an entry-level position. One possible solution to address this concern would be to increase the loan forgiveness cap for those participating in the public service loan forgiveness program to include the cost of financing a graduate education.

  • "Take profit out of health care"
Health care should not be about profit. It should be about compassion and caring for people. Congress should pass a public option.

  • Sandra Fluke for President
Ms Sandra Fluke is such an awesome woman! She would be a fantastic president. Barack Obama will be termed out in 2016. Sandra must be on the ballot then! No other woman I've seen has such a passion for women's rights and sexual freedom. After Mr Obama has finished his work so many opressed people will be liberated. Wouldn't it be the ultimate in liberation to have Sandra follow it up? I am just so excited about this!

  • Unite for democratic elections
A democratic government is a reflection of the collective public will. In the US, one of the main factors keeping us from this ideal is the untoward influence of corporations and other non-citizen entities. We don't have to wait for our government to pass campaign finance reform- we can wield our collective power in this presidential election in 2012. Sign and share to take back our democracy.

  • Student Loans
There is no better way to stimulate our economy than by canceling all student loans. Too many people are under the burden of Student Loans. Many would have included them when they filed Bankruptcy but were not allowed to include Student Loans. The President and Congress have bailed out banks for far more than the amount outstanding for student loans. If so many graduates were not under the pressure of Student Loans, they would be able to buy cars, homes, and food for their families. Let's let our graduates begin a life of involvement in their communities. Vote for the cancelation of ALL Student Loans.

  • Worlds Oceans
I feel we need more attention going towards cleaning the oceans and protecting fish breeding. There are very few protected breeding sites for fish, with protecting mating cites we can prevent the worlds oceans from going dry! Apple had a fantastic year in '11, a good slogan could be "Jobs for Jobs," saving the ocean and feeding you brain food! (needed to use the products!)

  • U.S. Supreme Court Declares Open Season On Strip Searches
The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that police and law enforcement agencies can now conduct invasive strip searches for ANY OFFENSE, if the suspect is being introduced to a prison population. It no longer requires that the officer have a reasonable suspicion of hidden contraband or weapons. This pertains not only to federal and state penitentiaries, BUT ALSO local precinct holding cells and detention centers. AND, you do NOT have to be convicted of a crime; it can apply if you have been arrested or detained and are awaiting a magistrate or hearing. People have been detained and strip-searched for offenses as minor as: -driving with an inoperable headlight; -failing to stop at a stop sign; -having outstanding parking tickets; -driving with a noisy muffler; -violating a dog leash law; -failing to pay child support; -riding a bicycle without an audible bell; and -trespassing during a demonstration (and this happened to a nun)
