Corporate power and wealthy individuals control the federal government through paid lobbyists. We all know this and the only way to return power to the electorate is through public financing alone.

After my mother died in front of my face at the age of 14 I was left to fend for myself in the streets with no guidance or positive role models. Not surprisingly, by the youthful age of 19 I was charged and subsequently convicted/sentenced as a first time non-violent felony offender for unlawful possession of a controlled substance in the 4th/5th degree and sentenced to 6 years in prison, and a lifetime of state sponsored legal discrimination in virtually every sector of my life (e.g., I can not get a decent/affordable apartment or decent job to feed my family because of this blemish on my record from when I was just a teenager). I have not been charged with or convicted of a felony crime since, and I am hereby calling on Governor Cuomo and the State Legislature to give me and the hundreds of thousands of other real New Yorkers like me a "second chance" at being a "first class citizen". As the political climates tend to change in Albany every 4 years or so, this may be our only last chance to get this legislation passed AND I NEED YOUR HELP BY SIGNING THIS PETITION AND VOICING YOUR SUPPORT FOR THIS MEASURE!

To give juvenile offedenders who were charged as adults doing life sentences after doing 20 plus years a second chance, for a child's mind is not fully developed, therefore he or she should not be charged as an adult when in all actuality they are not.

This is a letter for the administration at the University of Kansas for Kansas and Missouri fans alike to show their support for continuing the second oldest rivalry in the country.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure CEO & Founder, Nancy Brinker, and the rest of the nine-member board, have put the entire organization at risk through blantant partisanship, deceit, departure from the organization's mission, and abuse of the public's trust. The 120 affiliate chapters, the millions of men and women who have run in their races, and the people the organization serves deserve leadership they can trust to put politics aside and put healthcare first. The organization can not maintain its leadership position so long as Brinker and the current board remain in place. It is time for them all to resign and time for the public to demand it.

Currently, capital gains and dividens are taxed at lower rates than wages. There is no reason for this. The only thing special about capital gains is that rich people have them: that's why they're always pushing for lower tax rates on them. The same tax rates should apply to all income, regardless of source.

Been trying to get loan modification with Wachovia/Wells Fargo for 20 months and getting the runaround/denied ie:" Don't earn enough, earn to much, home value went down in value".... My home of 51 years is in foreclosure and up for auction for the 7th time since May 2010 on 03/05/12. Am 61 years olds, not in good health and working 2 jobs. I want Wachovia to do the right thing being that they put me in this situation AND I want to stay in my home!

There is way too much "pork" attached to bills for someone's special interest and we the people end up footing the cost. The president is the closest to the people and therefore the most responsive (polls, headlines, media, internet) which would make the voice of "WE THE PEOPLE" more heard. It would stop most of the illegitimate "add ons" which cause a great deal of the fiscal problems.

Choices on the presidential ballot. Normally there is a choice between two candidates - maybe three if there s an independent. There should be a 'none of the above' choice so those who cannot in good conscience vote for any of the listed candidates could still vote and have their vote counted.

Recently it has come to the attention of Pokemon fans that the original 6 games (Red Version, Blue Version, Yellow Version, Gold Version, Silver Version and Crystal Version) have a certain battery life built into them. That battery life lasts around 12-15 and most batteries will expire this year, preventing anyone from playing the original cartridges properly. While these cartridges may be lost forever, the games can still be preserved. This petition is to raise awareness to Nintendo and Game Freak about the demand for a re-release of the original 6 Pokemon games in their original format. This re-release would not be on a cartridge but would be downloadable content from the DSi/3DS e-shop, where anyone could purchase the games and download them. This would not only preserve the games, but the memories that go along with them. The re-release of these games would benefit not only Pokemon fans who wish to revisit the original series (and newcomers who want to experience it for the first time) but would also benefit Nintendo and Game Freak for the sales of these games would fly through the roof.
