• Pass the National Criminal Justice Commission Act
America has an addiction to incarceration with nearly 25 percent of the world's prisoners. This has drained government resources and destroyed the family structure. It is time for America to be smart on crime since the tough on crime tactics has proven to be very costly revenge.

  • End Corporate Control of Government
Last year the Supreme Court ruled corporations could spend billioms on political campaigns. Soon they will have bought enough politicans to control Comgress; to win both general AND primary elections; and therefore to "select" the candidates. They will then have complete control of "our" government, The result---A government of, by, and for the corporations.

  • Reduce Government Spending.
Spending needs to stop on agricultural subsidies, corporate welfare, and tax credits for favored industries. Excessive Government spending reduces labor force participation, increases unemployment, and reduces productivity. Agricultural subsidies is when the government funds farmers. They give crop incentives and control cost. Corporate welfare is basically financial aide for large corporations. This including three major business benefits that come in the forms of special tax breaks, trade policies, and spending programs. Tax breaks are special tax benefits for certain industries/situations. Trade policies regulate the direction and regulation of trade throughout the world. Spending programs are now 125 separate programs to subsidies to particular industries and firms and that the price tag exceeds $85 billion per year. Cutting funding will force businesses to get off their annual goal of $85 billion a year. Being able to trade for supplies while creating jobs to create different new cheaper products. This will also cut the amount of taxes that have been heightened because of these expenditures. Even though the ideals in Washington states that the United States needs an even closer alliance between business and politics, the reality is that both government and the marketplace would work better if they kept a healthy distance from each other. Right now the government is almost 15 trillion dollars in debt. This money is borrowed from other countries. If something doesn't change everyone in America will learn this the hard way.

  • MoveOn, please stop.
MoveOn.org is sending emails to supporters attempting to garner donations by playing on the sympathies of their base with #OWS. Moreover, they're doing their level best to shape the image of the protests to fit with their narrow political goals. This has to stop.

  • Mr. President: make the RBOB Gambit and stop food and fuel speculation.
The RBOB Gambit is simply this: The country is suffering a major financial slowdown precipitated by a drastic increase in the price of oil and thereby gasoline (the RBOB contract can be said to be the wholesale price of gas) caused by massive speculation in the commodities and futures markets. Laws have been written and rewritten for decades to stop this very problem, the most recent being the Dodd – Frank Act. The CFTC by the actions of its commissioners have failed in their duty to enforce these laws. The CFTC is part of the executive branch and thereby under the direct control of the President. By exercising the power of his office, Barak Obama has the means to revive the economy, increase employment, stem the tide of bankruptcies and home foreclosures, reduce basic food and energy prices for billions around the world and thereby help revive the world’s economic engine. Requiring the CFTC to pass rules to ensure that commodities markets are free of excessive speculation as required by the congress is not only his purview it is his duty. It is legal, requires no new legislation, can be done in weeks not months, costs nothing, and will return hundreds of billions of dollars of purchasing power to American consumers that will drive growth. This singular act of presidential leadership will signal to everyone that the president has the interest of the Main Street rather than Wall Street as his primary focus. Expedient execution of the RBOB Gambit will change the political discussion in the country and probably secure re-election of him while helping the Democrats at the polls. • Tell Amazon to Onshore Customer Service Jobs
Amazon.com is one of America's biggest retailers. They earn a nice living off of American consumers, but they off-shore their customer service jobs to India and Asia. It's time to tell Jeff Bezos that ON-SHORING jobs is what Americans buying from him want. Sign the petition to get Amazon.com to bring jobs back to the United States. We can't buy if we can't work!

  • PETITION FOR MORE PEDESTRIAN AND BICYCLIST ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA, THE THIR...
Jacksonville! Stand in unity that our voice be heard! Join The Jacksonville Bicycle Coalition in the campaign for safer streets for the citizens and children of this city. Jacksonville, Florida is the third most dangerous city in the nation regarding pedestrians and cyclists. With regards to Florida in general, Jacksonville’s low ranking in safety is indicative of the rest of the state. According to Transportation for America’s “Dangerous By Design” 2011 study, the top four most dangerous cities in America are all located in Florida - 1) the areas of Orlando / Kissimmee, 2) the areas of Tampa / St. Petersburg / Clearwater, 3) Jacksonville, and 4) the areas of Miami / Fort Lauderdale / Pompano Beach. As a citizen of the City of Jacksonville - the city we all adore for its aesthetics, its culture, its undeniable potential - I ask of you, please consider supporting this cause by signing this petition. This petition will be given to our Mayor and State Representative. With enough signatures, we hope to have this issue placed as a higher priority for city and state improvements. If every other respectable metropolitan area of this country can have proper road infrastructure for various means of transportation, then certainly Jacksonville should be no exception!

  • PTO's not CEO's
The Michigan Legislature has slashed school funding in order to give 1.8 Billion dollars worth of tax cuts to corporations. Not one job has been created, but thousands have been lost. With the realization of 285 million dollars in unexpected revenue, it is time for the Legislature to restore K-12 school funding, and to stop attacking the labor rights of public sector employees.

  • Citizens Opposed to U.S. Department of Justice Approval of the Proposed 2012 Redistricting Plan f...
On Sept. 12, 2011 Beaufort County Council approved a 2012 redistricting plan for the Beaufort County School Board that will require 10 of the 11 current incumbent school board members to run for re-election in 2012, although several of them were just elected in 2010. We believe that the plan was designed primarily to dismantle the majority-Black leadership of the school board, although 3 of the 6 African-Americans members don't represent majority-Black districts. Also, requiring 10 incumbent school board members to run in the same year erases the safeguards created by staggered elections, and will disrupt the stability of the school district's governing body. We ask that the DOJ reject the plan because it threatens to undermine minority voting strength; drastically reduces Black representation on both the school board and county council board with an impact that is both draconian and punitive for Black elected officials who're not Republicans.
