• FIGHT SOCIAL SECURITY RIP-OFF--BRING BACK COST-OF-LIVING INCREASES
This is particularly important for people already receiving Social Seurity benefits, or those nearing the benefits age, or those concerned about elderly relatives. For the last two years, the Government has not given cost-of-living increases (COLA) to recipients, even though living costs have risen dramaticaly. In effect, this has amounted to CUTS, and many people are really suffering from it. They are threatening to withhold COLA in 2012, as well. We must protest this disastrous attack on our seniors -- it will create a situation in which people will have to choose between eating or paying rent -- medical prescriptions or winter clothes. At a time when tax cuts are being extended for the rich, it is scandalous to cut benefits for elderly frail people of low income.

  • Respect the President
It's obvious that the Republican party has issues with President Obama but there is no reason for the constant disrespect. It must stop.

  • Take a Stand for State's Rights and Personal Freedom: Co-sponsor HR 2306
For the first time since 1937, lawmakers have introduced a bill into the House of Representatives to end federal marijuana prohibition. Over the past 70+ years, the federal criminalization of marijuana has: 1) Failed to reduce the public’s demand for or access to cannabis. 2) Imposed enormous fiscal and human costs upon the American people. 3) Promoted disrespect for the law. 4) Reinforced ethnic and generational divides between the public and law enforcement. After seven decades of failure, it is time for an alternative approach.

  • Get America Back to Work: Stop the Middle Class Assault!
The Congress, especially the Republican faction of the People's House, should cease and desist from fighting policies that would bring jobs to the workers in this country. It should be a criminal act for our legislators to only look out for the interest of a small population of this country, who just happen to have most of the money in the country.

  • Congressional / Senate Reform Act of 2011
    1. Term Limits. 12 years only, one of the possible options below: A. Two Six-year Senate terms B. Six Two-year House terms C. One Six-year Senate term and three Two-Year House terms 2. No Tenure / No Pension. They collect a salary while in office and receive no pay when they are out of office. 3. All elected officials (past, present & future) participate in Social Security. No longer will Social Security funds be allowed to be accessed for any other purpose than what it was intended for in its origin. All funds in the retirement funds move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and they participate with the American people. 4. Officcials can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all Americans do. 5. Officials will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%. 6. Officials lose their current health care system and participate in the same health care system as the American people. 7. Officials must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people - to include tax laws. 8. All contracts with past and present officials are void effective 1/1/12. The American people did not make this contract with them. They made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress and the Senate is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their terms, then go home and back to work.

  • Want a Real Economic Stimulus and Jobs Plan? Forgive Student Loan Debt!
For over 30 years, the rich have gotten richer, the poor have gotten poorer, and the middle class is slowly but surely being squeezed out of existence. Instead of more of the same corporate welfare/"trickle-down" economics that have been an abysmal failure for the middle class, why not try a trickle-up approach to rebuilding our economy by targeting relief at those most likely to actually help grow the economy?

  • Stop Congress/Senate Health Care Coverage for Life
When our elected officials carry out their term of service in Congress/Senate, they are covered with health care for life which tax payers pay. Let them deal with health care benefits like the rest of America.

  • Save the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act
Rep. Michele Bachmann and Sen. Amy Klobuchar have authored legislation to exempt from the National Wild & Scenic Rivers Act a proposed four-lane freeway bridge over the St. Croix River between Minnesota and Wisconsin. The legislation would create the first such exemption for an intrusion of this magnitude on a river protected under the Act, and create a dangerous precedent for future degradation of other rivers. The proposed $680 million bridge connects a town of 18,000 in Minnesota and an unincorporated township in Wisconsin. It's only six miles from an existing eight-lane interstate freeway bridge crossing the St. Croix River.
