Free Bus SystemThere is a free bus system between remote points in Northern New Mexico, only the times they run do not work for those seeking jobs in Taos or Espanola. Consequently the state loses income they could have from those who could work but have no way of getting in at earlier times from sites like Dixon among others. The state also ends up paying more in entitlements because the people can not get jobs. Now it comes around 10 am so no one can get a job that begins earlier.968 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Janet Sullins

Performance Pay and Benefits for CongressCongress has repeatedly given themselves raises over the past twenty years when most of us have seen a steady erosion in pay and benefits. One of Congress's jobs is to ammend and approve the President's budget- something they have repeatedly failed to do in a timely fashion for years. This petition is to link Congressional pay and benefits to their performance while in Congress.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael D. Fields

Support the prevention of childhood lead poisoningChildhood lead poisoning remains a major public health problem in the U.S.; however, the U.S. Senate is proposing to eliminate funding to the CDC for public health programs to eliminate this terrible health problem. Currently, CDC spends about $30 million to support state programs that design and operate programs that target the elimination of the problem. Childhood lead poisoning costs billions. Studies show that every lead poisoning prevention dollar saves money and allows productive lives.61 of 100 SignaturesCreated by John Steward

Fix "Citizens United" RulingH.J. Res. 78, offered by Rep. Donna Edwards of Maryland, seeks to change the Constitution to allow limits to corporate spending on campaigns. This is the only means to reverse the ill-fated Citizens United decision by the Supreme Court, allowing unlimited corporate spending on campaigns for public office. There is a mirror proposal in the Senate made by John Conyers of Michigan.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jeffrey Hobbs

Parity for Homeowners ExclusionThe exclusion from capital gains tax when a property sells is unfair to single people. Here's why: If a property is jointly owned (marrieds) each gets a $250 K exclusion for a total of $500 K while a single owner only gets $250 K excluded even though that single owner worked just as hard or harder to meet mortgage obligations27 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Barbara Nelson

Request that Maine and New Hampshire Re-Investigate the Chad Evans caseChad Emery Evans was wrongfully convicted in December, 2001 in New Hampshire of the murder of Kassidy Bortner, the 21-month old daughter of his girlfriend, Amanda Bortner. Chad is now in his eleventh year of a 43 years-to-life sentence. This petition requests that the State New Hampshire re-investigate the case, because there was much that was missed the first time, and much that Chad's jury did not see.
