i worked with the company for about a year, and as much as i loved working for them, their energy harvesting practices hung in the back of my mind, possibly in other employees minds as well. they have a lot of influence, and are able to make this transition smooth as well as effective. focusing on renewable energy right now is vital to the health and wellbeing of not,only our planet, but humanity as a whole. loews hotels has a bit of influence on other corporations and companies and if they start using green energy then hopefully others will see the benefits and follow suit. lead by example!

This proposed development is of great concern for residents living by the drain and the surrounding neighborhoods. The Sterling Heights government needs to hear the residents and STOP THIS PROJECT NOW. Our own backyards will no longer be safe places for our children to play. This conversion from a natural area to a public area is going to diminish the quality of life for our residents. It will cause increase of crime, loss of privacy, safety concerns, and it is an unnecessary amenity. The money should be spent for real necessities in our city.

Representative Duncan Hunter must resign immediately. Recently, Duncan spoke publicly about participating in the shooting of civilians while in combat and has defended the actions of other service members accused of war crimes. He did not do this by stating that they were innocent, but instead that the war crimes themselves were not significant. This is abhorrent. Not only that, but Duncan Hunter has also been accused of using his campaign funds for personal use, including paying for his children's school tuition, taking overly lavish vacations, and to fund at least five extramarital affairs. Duncan Hunter used his campaign funds to pay for Uber rides, hotels, and drinks for five separate relationships he was maintaining outside of his marriage. This is absolutely egregious. Duncan Hunter's affronts to the public do not stop there. He has made blatantly Islamophobic comments against his former opponent in 2018, making wild, unfounded, and racist claims that the Democratic nominee for the seat was tied to what Hunter considers extremist Muslim groups. This man has no business serving in the U.S. Congress. I have lived in Representative Hunter's district for 15 years, and I do not want my Congressman to be someone who casually dismisses serious ethical breaches like firing upon civilians during combat, using campaign funds to pay for his personal needs and extramarital affairs, and using fear-mongering and Islamophobic comments to win. Duncan Hunter should resign from office immediately.

I am 15 years old. I care about the future of our planet, as it is our future. Public lands preserve nature for the future, preserve the past, and provide social, economic, and spiritual benefits today. But our public lands are underfunded, meaning that there isn’t enough staff or money to protect them. Between 2011 and 2017 the National Park Service lost 11 percent of its staff while receiving 19 percent more visitors. With better funding, we could care properly for our National Parks, National Monuments, and National Forests. I am a student at John J. Pershing. I am a 7th grader which is about to be separated from my Dual Language program. We had this program for 2 years and it is important to my classmates in 709 because it helps them learn English. This program should continue because it helps the students that don't know English learn English better. It also helps students that know English well to also learn Spanish.

There are over 5 million children in the United States with at least one undocumented parent. Currently there are over 5,100 active deportation cases across the state of Oregon and more than 71,000 Oregon children are at risk of losing a parent to deportation. This forced separation has enormous consequences for our students, their families and our education communities. The 71,000 Oregon children and youth living under the threat of being forcibly removed from a loving and capable parent experience enormous education disparities. These young people experience high levels of anxiety and depression, which effects their ability to participate in academic activities. Additionally, the very legitimate fear of being stopped by ICE and detained in the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma keeps many parents from being able to actively engage with the school community. Children and youth who are at risk of losing a parent are less likely to be able to participate in after-school activities or supplemental academic support, lowering their academic success rates and their over-all satisfaction with their education experience. These kids are also disproportionately represented in chronic absenteeism and following the forced removal of a parent, are ten times more likely to drop out than their peers. Educators from all around the state can describe the horrible impact of forced removal on their students and their school communities. Ten-year-old students being sent to school with their passport to prove they are citizens. Six-year-old children defending themselves in court with no attorney. Children arriving home after school only to find the house empty and learning their parents will never return. These are not stories happening in other countries, or only on the southern border. They happen in Oregon every day. Educators stand against the senseless destruction of loving families. We stand against Oregon children and youth being caught in the crosshairs of federal policy. We stand for an Oregon where every child is valued and safe, free to pursue their education and future free from the violence of family separation. We urge our state leaders to vote yes for the Immigrant Defense Fund.
