• Wendy Kelley:Directer of Arkansas Department of Corrections
We the people and the families of incarcerated in the state of Arkansas demand the removal of Wendy Kelley as director of Arkansas Department of Corrections and associated Deputy Directors Dale Reed and Dexter Payne. In the collaboration of these individuals, incarcerated men and women in the state prison system are deprived of humane living conditions, adequate medical care, and safety and protection from harm. Grievances filed by inmates are always deemed without merit even in severe situations. These employees of Arkansas Department of Corrections take it upon themselves to punish families of incarcerated individuals by withholding mail, falsifying information in files, accusing family members of violating ADC policy without allowing "Due Process", restricting visitation, phone calls, and video visits, therefore depriving family dynamics with significant others, parents, siblings, and children. This in return affects the inmates psychologically, causing undue stress and mental anguish, which violates prison rights along with citizens rights. In numerous situations when a family member contacts these individuals, they are treated rudely and lied to. These deaths occurring in the system are not by family, they're by staff, for which administration does not want to be held accountable. Assaults in units by staff and other inmates show lack of interventions to prevent these occurrences. Numerous falsified disciplinaries are overlooked and pushed aside in order to condemn inmates to solitary confinement, which in return causes PTSD and other disorders. We the families demand accountability and transparency of the Arkansas Department of Corrections Administrations and staff. Ms. Kelley herself being a lawyer holding a license in this state violates civil rights to prisoners and families. It is time our legislators take action and demand removal and replacement of these individuals, no more covering up their infraction on human beings incarcerated and their families. Numerous time inhumane conditions, assaults, PREA violations go unrecognized or undocumented in order to keep their ACA accreditation, on which Ms. Kelley is on the board of ACA, which is a conflict of interest. We the families of the incarcerated demand to be heard and changes to be made accordingly by the replacement of these directors. We demand better conditions for all inmates, humane treatment, adequate medical care, improved mental health care with a licensed trained therapist, the safety of all inmates, and respect to families of the incarcerated.

  • Congress needs to start the impeachment proceedings
Every American has been affected in one way or another by this administration‘s behavior. His supporters do not realized that his tax cuts hurt the poor and middle class (themselves) and blessed the rich that want to keep him in power. Our country has never been so divided. This was absolutely done by Putin’s design and Trumps purposeful demonization of Democrats and immigrants) . If the facts don’t come out, the people will never know the truth and our country will never heal. Trump has gotten away with corruption his entire life but now in his position of power on the world stage, propped up by all of his enablers, there are dire consequences for us all. He must be stopped and we must seek to be a united country of laws again. We can only do that by exposing the truth. Please join me and let our leaders know that we are not ready to just look to 2020 and ignore Mueller's findings. Russia is a threat, Trump is a threat and even worse, he believes he’s above the law.

  • Sarah Huckabee Sanders lies to the American public and must be fired
I am shocked at Sarah Huckabee Sanders' unembarrassed mendacity and that she doesn't seem to care that she is exposed as a liar on an almost daily basis. We cannot have such a person serving as the spokesperson of the White House.

  • Street legalize the use of SXS/UTVs in Mississippi
If you want to be legally able to license and drive your Sxs/Utv’s on the roads of Mississippi, please sign this petition. Thank you! Would expect some rules such as insurance , turn signals/hand signals, horn, headlights, tail lights, brake lights, license, speedometer... Some states (like South Dakota, Arizona, Utah, and Montana) are far more relaxed with such concepts than tightly regulated states like New York or California. Of course even in those areas where taking an ATV (or UTV) on the street legally is possible, the requirements to make it happen vary greatly. Some require only a plate and registration, others demanding automotive insurance, inspection, motorcycle license and so on.

The 'Driver's License for all' bill (HF1500) has passed in the House. We, your constituents, call upon you to support this initiative by passing a bill with similar language in the Senate. This is a matter of public safety because every driver in our community should be educated, safe and insured.

  • Fight William Barr's immigration reversal
Last Tuesday, Attorney General William Barr issued an order that reverses current immigration policy. This order directs immigration judges to deny migrants a chance to post bail. This would affect adult asylum seekers traveling alone who enter this country at a place other than an established port of entry from being allowed a bond hearing regardless of whether or not they pass a credible fear interview. This order, expected to go into effect in 90 days allowing ICE time to increase bed space, will unilaterally expand mass incarceration. Forcing thousands of people to languish in public and private detention facilities is a design to cause asylum seekers to give up hope and return to the very situations from which they flee. Such a ruling flies in the face of the 1951 Refugee Convention that prohibits the penalizing of asylum seekers based on their manner of entry.

In order to be punished in the state of Florida, you must dump 15 pounds of trash and all you will receive is a 100 dollar fine. We propose that any amount of trash is worth being pegged as a higher offense.

  • California Pension Funds Should Divest from Fossil Fuels (IF YOU ARE A MEMBER OF CALSTRS OR CALPE...
CalSTRS, the $220-billion retirement system for California public school teachers, invests almost $7 billion in the polluting oil and gas industries. This includes investing $750 million in Exxon, a company that plans to triple its oil production in the next 10 years and funds campaigns to deny the science of climate change. CalPERS—whose members work in California’s public sector on the state, county, and municipal levels—is the largest public pension fund in the United States. In fact, globally CalPERS ranks 7th in the world, larger than many national pension funds. It’s big, with a $347 billion investment portfolio, and when CalPERS moves, other investors follow. The most recent figures suggest CalPERS has an estimated $7 billion invested in fossil fuels. According to the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA), the oil and gas sector last year placed “dead last” in the Standard & Poor’s 500, an index of 500 of the largest US publicly traded companies. Last year’s dismal performance follows a ten-year downward trend for the fossil fuel industry. In fact, for the last seven years, some funds without fossil fuel investments have outperformed those with fossil fuels. The writing is on the wall—if we continue to invest in the fossil fuel industry, we jeopardize our finances and, most importantly, our survival. Carbon Tracker, an independent financial think tank that analyzes the impact of energy transition on capital markets, warns investors of being stuck with “stranded assets” –worthless or near worthless financial holdings –as industrial economies transition to renewables and less developed countries leapfrog fossil fuels to embrace solar and wind. California lawmakers recognize the need to get off fossil fuels. Under the rules set forth by the California Public Utilities Commission and the mandates of SB100, the State must source 100% of its electricity from renewables by 2045. Exxon, with less than 1% of its business in renewables, will presumably fail to meet the State of California’s 33% benchmark for 2020. BP, Shell, Chevron, Conoco-Phillips and the other oil and gas giants—all with less than 3% invested in renewables—are also failing to transition. Investment managers and policymakers may argue it is more productive to engage than to disengage –to stay invested in the fossil fuel industry in the hopes of influencing it, but there is no evidence yet of a company abandoning its core business, e.g., extracting, producing and distributing fossil fuels, based on shareholder engagement. And there is precedent for divestment. Over $6 trillion in funds have already been divested from fossil fuels. A few of the largest divesting entities include: the trillion-dollar Norwegian Sovereign Wealth Fund; Rockefeller Brothers Fund; World Council of Churches; AXA, a French multinational insurance firm; the City of New York; the City of London; and Ireland. In the face of global climate chaos—wildfires, drought, famine, floods, mass migration—the UN Secretary-General has issued a call to all pension funds to divest from the fossil fuel industry. It is time for CalSTRS and CalPERS to divest from fossil fuels. This petition was created by Marcy Winograd, Jane Vosburg, Deborah Silvey, Sandy Emerson, and Cynthia Kaufman—retired public school teachers and/or members of Fossil Free California (Fossilfreeca.org).

  • Rep. Mike Quigley: filed Articles of Impeachment or retire
From 2009-16, Rep. Mike Quigley had an undistinguished career in U.S. House. Then after Donald Trump was elected President, Quigley was frequently on television insinuating there was classified information that suggested Trump's connections with foreign entities was troubling and nefarious. Now that the Mueller Report has been released, it's time for Congress to try Donald Trump. If Quigley does not support filing Articles of Impeachment then he's been a misleading partisan hack all this time and he should be replaced by someone more capable.

  • William Barr Should Resign Now
After such a biased and unjust summary of the Mueller Report and now a biased and unprecedented press conference to mis-lead the American People further, this sub-standard Attorney General should resign. He is supposed to protect the Constitution, not represent the president, especially this particular one, who exhibits no respect for the Rule of Law.
