  • Support the Fight for Good Jobs at AT&T
AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson made a promise to invest in his workforce and create at least 7,000 jobs if the tax bill passed. Well, the bill did pass, and AT&T received a $20 billion windfall. But instead of creating jobs, AT&T has laid off over a thousand workers across the country in the past few months. And the company keeps sending work to low-wage and overseas contractors, devastating families and communities across America. AT&T workers are fighting back. CWA members at AT&T Midwest and AT&T’s national Legacy T division are fighting for fair union contracts and have voted to strike if necessary to secure a deal that guarantees good jobs, affordable healthcare, and a secure retirement.

  • Shut Down Celebrity Insider for False and Defamatory Stories
This is about protecting individuals and organizations from libel and false defamatory stories written by people who not journalists. This is about getting rid of fake news. This site encourages online bullying. I spoke with one of the writers OFF the record and she printed and posted our conversations. I also have a tweet public tweet from Charisse Van Horn telling Bobby Wolfe, the leader of the wolf pack how sexy and talented he is. Interesting how are loyalties and views changed depending on who rejected her and who she may have a chance with...Celebrity Insider and Charisse should be ashamed.

  • NJ Government: Ban Lunch Shaming in New Jersey
Donate at: https://www.gofundme.com/eraselunchdebt-nj In nearly half of America’s school districts, schools are shaming and punishing students because their parents or guardians are unable to pay for their child's lunch bills. In some cases, schools are ordered to withhold lunch. In other, more severe cases, lunch shaming is used; schools publicly single out these children by forcing them to wear wristbands, assigning them chores, or taking away their meal after it has been served to them. Children face the embarrassment of being branded by bracelets or stamps when they are denied the “good lunch” in their own school cafeterias. This horrific practice negatively disrupts a child's life, often leaving permanent scars. To begin tackling this pressing problem, I founded the Lunch Crisis Organization which operates on the basis of three main objectives: raising money towards erasing students’ lunch debt, raising awareness about lunch shaming, and bringing change to the public school lunch system. Though I was able to raise over $13,000, it proved to be merely a band-aid for this crisis -- real change, change on a legislative level, must be more permanent. To bring this permanent change to the public school lunch system, New Jersey and its legislators need to create and pass a bill that will consist of acts to outlaw the cruel practice of lunch shaming and ensure that federal meal assistance is an easier process. New Mexico’s Hunger-Free Students’ Bill of Rights outlaws lunch shaming and directs schools to work with parents to pay their debts or to sign up for federal meal assistance. With New Mexico being one only a few states to pass a bill that has effectively impacted the lunch system, it is my hope that New Jersey will be the next.

  • Adopt a yellow page opt-in only program in New Jersey
The current voluntary Yellow Pages opt-out program is not working, it is merely a publicity stunt. I have opted out from receiving these wasteful books for a few years now, and I KEEP RECEIVING THEM EVERY SINGLE YEAR. The manufacturers keep getting away with it because it is a voluntary program and there are no laws to regulate it. The production of these unnecessary books causes more pollution, wastes natural resources, and wastes public money because municipalities have to deal with recycling them. Lots of them. Most people don't need or use those books, but they continue to be printed and delivered because somebody is making a profit. An opt-in program would prevent excessive books from being printed, and all people who still wanted them would always be able to sign up to continue to receive them. IT'S NOT A BAN on phone books, it is an optimization of resources. Only people who want the books would be receiving them -- it's common sense! I would love to see NJ as the first US State to achieve that. Please let's be environmental leaders again.

  • Oxford, MS - Non-Discrimination Ordinance
Mississippi is one of few states that has yet to secure civil rights protections for everyone. There is no law that explicitly protects individuals from discrimination in housing, employment, education, or the use of public accommodations. Federal protections exist for certain people on the basis of race, sex, and other categories, but the coverage is limited for sexual orientation and gender identity. Oxford is known for being inclusive and diverse. We need to make sure all are welcome in our city. Help us protect our youth and the residents of Oxford by signing this petition for a Non-Discrimination Ordinance.

  • Suddenlink Broadband
I am tired of trying to work from home with an unstable signal while rates keep increasing. 90 days ago, I paid $10 to increase the speed on internet service and 60 days ago Suddenlink decided to implement a rate increase of $8.25 per line. The signal jumps in and out; technicians have been to our home and say everything is fine at the pole; it took 2 weeks for a service call in June so I was without broadband for those 2 weeks. I do not receive a paper statement so was unaware of the latest increase until it took place. Funny, they could send me an email to increase the overall speed of my internet but when it came to a rate increase it was my responsibility to read my statement online since it was on page 3 of the paper billing. I know from Facebook postings in my community that this is not just "my" issue.
