Cruel abuse in the TDCJ Ferguson unit in Midway, Texas: My son is an inmate at this unit and after multiple pleas to everyone, I could think of this is my last resolve! The heat is being used as a form of torture. The 8th Amendment Rights states "no cruel and unusual punishment shall be exhibited." We beg of you for help for all the men and woman suffering.

  • #BoycottWalmart FOR "MAGA" Merchandise!
On July 3rd, 2018, there was a #BoycottWalmart when shoppers saw merchandise reading "Impeach 45" available online from the superstore. We need to #BoycottWalmart because Walmart sells merchandise reading "Make America Great Again"- a campaign slogan from Donald Trump. This slogan is being adapted by hate groups to justify their violent attacks on non-white Americans. "MAGA" merchandise and other hate symbols are being worn by the alt-right hate groups and Walmart contributes to promoting their image. Walmart proved today by removing the shirts reading "Impeach 45" Walmart is selectively choosing which shoppers' 1st Amendment rights matter more than others. Americans need to have their voices heard. Walmart needs to pull all products saying "Make America Great Again." Walmart is a store for all Americans and should not sell one version of politics to their shoppers. Despite a recent shooting in a Walmart store in Tumwater, Washington past June, 2018- Walmart continues to sell guns despite the rise in mass shootings. #BoycottWalmart for not taking a stand against the violence and racism the "Make America Great Again" merchandise sends to hate groups by a current president who claimed racist protesters were "good people" just last August, 2017. #BoycottWalmart for selling MAGA merchandise and guns while the current President has not made an effort to stop mass shootings. Walmart, like President Trump, has made no effort to stop gun violence in America. #BoycottWalmart until they stop selling the politically, racially charged "Make America Great Again" merchandise. Please sign and share this petition to make every executive at Walmart hear our voices loud and clear!

  • Wells Fargo, stop financing prison corporations profiting off the pain and separation of families!
Let's use the power of our consumer voices to cut off the corporate money behind Trump’s unconscionable immigration policies! Tell Wells Fargo to STOP financing CoreCivic and GEO Group, private prison corporations that are profiting off the pain and separation of families. Why target Wells Fargo and private prison companies? Private prison companies are not only making huge profits from the incarceration and detention of immigrants, they are also a huge political force in lobbying for the legislation and policies that criminalize immigrants and communities of color in the U.S. [1][2] But private prisons are not the only ones making money here. Two of the private prison industry leaders, CoreCivic and GEO Group, depend on debt financing from Wells Fargo and other banks to conduct their day-to-day business operations, finance new facilities, and acquire smaller companies. This is a big deal. An analysis of U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings over the past 10 years, shows that Wells Fargo has played a leading role in financing these debts.[3][4] Follow the money. As consumers, we have the power to stop this! Wells Fargo needs consumers like you and me in order to keep their business afloat, so our voices are powerful. We can demand that Wells Fargo stop financing private prisons, and thereby stop the construction of new private prisons to house immigrant children and families, stem the political power of private prison lobbyists, and send a warning message to other banks that consumers will not tolerate the use of their deposits to finance the private prison industry. Imprisoning children with families is still imprisoning children! Studies have shown that detention, even with families, is traumatic for children and can have long term health and developmental effects. [5] It’s time for everyone who cares about our democracy and the future direction of our country to use our voices, our votes, and the power of our pocketbooks to fight against human rights abuses in the name of immigration enforcement. Wells Fargo MUST stop financing this pain! There are alternatives to detention that are not only more compassionate for children and families, but also more fiscally responsible. In FY18, the Department of Homeland Security estimated that it cost on average $319.37 dollars a day, per family member, to incarcerate a family on the border. On the other hand, with the Family Case Management Program, (which the Trump administration terminated in 2017), children and their parents were provided with individualized family service plans, and had a proven 100% success rate ensuring the family attend their hearings, and it cost only $36, per family, per day![6] We believe that families seeking safety in our country need protection and opportunity. Children deserve to be with their families outside of cages and they deserve to have their rights protected. Join us today in telling Wells Fargo that they MUST stop the financing of CoreCivic and GEO Group. They MUST stop financing pain for corporate gain! • Corporations Are Not People Too
In Citizens United (for-profit corporations given the right of free speech) and Hobby Lobby (for-profit corporations given the right of religious freedom), the Supreme Court fundamentally changed the relationship between corporate interests and individual interests, increasing by orders of magnitude the power of corporations over our lives and our government. The most expeditious way to address this imbalance is to deny those individual rights to California corporations and corporations doing business in California (i.e., the 5th largest economy in the world).

  • Stop the hunt for baby Rain!
Law enforcement in North Carolina is devoting substantial resources in the search for Rain, a baby goat rescued from a meat farm. Rain was suffering from pneumonia at a meat farm where animals had previously been seen collapsed on the ground in their own filth. Rain received emergency medical care and is today happy and healthy. But the Sheriff in Transylvania County is now threatening animal caretakers with felonies -- including a mother with two children -- unless Rain is sent back for slaughter. I have played with goats, and they have the same feelings as a dog or cat. I don’t want to see Rain, who has already suffered so much, sent back to an abusive place, and I’m respectfully asking the Sheriff to call off the hunt for Rain and drop all charges against activists who helped to rescue him.

  • End the New Jersey Bear Hunt
The NJ BEAR Group and our coalition of supporters asks Governor Murphy to honor his sacred promise and put a moratorium on the New Jersey bear hunt. We also ask our NJ legislature to enact and embrace bear smart legislation (for example Pedals Law). This legislation includes educating residents on ways to peacefully coexist with black bears. Containment of artificial food sources like garbage and bird feeders is key. Hunters are allowed to bait and shoot all bears including mothers and cubs with human food including doughnuts. Bows and arrows are allowed. This is cruel as this weapon has about a 50% wounding rate. • Tell Congressman Jeff Denham #No Vote
This petition is to delay an appointment of a Supreme Court Justice to replace Justice Kennedy until after the November general election. The people must be able to vote for the candidate who best represents the majority. The wrong Justice could mean an end to Roe v Wade, LGBQT and immigrant rights and healthcare. In addition there will be an increase in more harsher and unequal laws on criminal justice sentencing and voting rights.
