Permanently Protect Chaco CanyonU.S. Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke recently halted an oil and gas lease sale near Chaco Canyon in order to further review the potential impacts from oil and gas drilling. Drilling in this area would destroy a sacred place that holds incredible importance to Navajo residents living in the area. It also has the potential to contaminate the air, water, and land that the surrounding community relies on, putting their health and well-being at risk. We need to keep the pressure on Secretary Zinke to permanently protect Chaco Canyon from oil and gas drilling. Please sign and share this petition to stand with us.180 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Miranda Carter, Food & Water Watch

Stop Unjust Deportation of Luis Enrique Gonzalez-OrtizMy Husband, Luis Enrique Gonzalez-Ortiz has been in the country for 12 years. A role-model resident, self-employed creator of jobs, neighborhood revitalizer, and positive contributor to the community - and not a criminal - Enrique must be permitted to stay in the U.S. With an approved marriage to U.S. Citizen, Harlon J. Wilson, and more than a decade of working hard, paying income taxes, and contributing to his community, we should be permitted the necessary time to complete our application for the green card and waiver. With an application to renew our "Stay" denied and an ICE-requested travel itinerary to return to the dangers of El Salvador, extreme hardship would be caused both to me as the U.S. Citizen spouse as well as to my spouse, Enrique who would become the target of gang recruitment. Thankfully, the courts have recently agreed to hear our case although immigration judge's hands are tied with the recent unilaterally policy shifts of Attorney General Jeff Sessions. We need an Administrative Closure or Continuance until our green card is received. Sessions recent mandates of immigration judges make our case all the more concerning as we remain caught in limbo. As gay males with a same-sex marriage, we both would be in grave danger if returned to El Salvador, a nation that does not currently protect discrimination against gays nor recognize gay marriage. If U.S. immigration deports Enrique, we will stay together. It is likely I as a white American male would be the target of hate, discrimination, violence, extortion, and possibly death if forced to leave this country to be with my husband in his native homeland of El Salvador. Our full story is available at: http://deportinglove.com. Please review the details to learn of how U.S. immigration officials got it all wrong in this case. Enrique was seeking relief from the dangers of his land but did not know and adequately understand the communication at the border. While in processing, border officers refused to retrieve his Indiana-based Uncle's U.S. postal address from the pocket of the jacket that officials had locked away. Thus, it is unclear where a 2006 Notice to Appear was sent. Without receipt of the notice, he was unaware of a court date and did not appear to a 2006 hearing. A deportation was ordered at that time. We did not discover the order until our 2014 marriage and subsequent filing for legalization. Please consider hearing our story as we work towards changing laws. Immigration must be reformed to be more human-centered including amnesty for those already living in and contributing to the country. Please Stop the Deportation of Luis Enrique Gonzalez Ortiz. Please use every means, including the creation of a "Personal Bill," injunction, or every other possible option to remove Enrique's unjust deportation order. Please help us Stop the Deportation of my husband. Learn More at: http://www.deportinglove.com/2018/05/in-news-local-station-shares-our-story.html645 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Harlon J. Wilson

Stop the DOJ from erasing LGBTQ teens from the National Crime Victimization SurveyThe Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Statistics has requested a revision to the National Crime Victimization Survey information collection that raises the minimum age at which respondents will be administered questions on their sexual orientation and gender identity. Per the requested change, the minimum age for these questions will be raised from 16 to 18 due to concerns about the "potential sensitivity" of these questions for young teens. Join Northwestern University's Institute for Sexual and Gender Minority Health (ISGMH) faculty and staff in explaining why the requested change in procedure would be extremely detrimental to the health and safety of sexual and gender minority (SGM) youth. ISGMH has conducted numerous peer-reviewed studies on this topic, and there is no evidence that teens are uncomfortable answering questions about their sexual orientation or gender identity - in fact, they reported being more comfortable doing so than posting their pictures on social media or going to the eye doctor. There is mounting evidence that SGM youth are at grave risk for violence and victimization, yet they are barely represented in research. This void in research means that every opportunity to collect data is crucially needed in order to understand their experiences. In eliminating questions that assess SGM status among adolescents under 18, the DOJ is rendering SGM adolescent victims of crime nearly invisible, which in turn diminishes efforts to identify and provide targeted resources for these youth. View ISGMH's complete letter here: https://isgmh.northwestern.edu/2018/05/08/isgmh-submits-formal-response-to-proposed-changes-to-the-national-crime-victimization-survey/ UPDATE: ISGMH delivered 176 petition signatures to Jennifer Truman on May 11. We encourage you to continue signing this petition and speaking out against the DOJ's proposed changes to the National Crime Victimization Survey.1,735 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Zaina Awad

Keep Jordan ConnerJordan Conner is a fellow VIPKid teacher whose job was taken away because of a policy change stating that all teachers should have Bachelor's degrees. He has been here 3 years and has taught 5000+ classes. I've been with the company for one year, but I can bet you that he is a better teacher than I am due to his comprehensive experience with this company. VIPKid has always shown great integrity and I'd love to see them honor the years Jordan Conner has contributed.178 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Kellie

PDUTERTE MUST RESIGNPDUTERTE MUST RESIGN! The Philippines was on the way up to Progress during PNoy term. President Benigno "NoyNoy" Aquino made the Philippines to stand up from Sick Man in ASIA to be the new emerging TIGER ECONOMY not only in ASIA but worldwide. PNoy turned over P1.3-Trillion of Government Funds to PDuterte inspite of a very low budget allocations to operate the government. When PDuterte took over the administration he cranked-up the government operating budget allocation to tenfold compared to the previous administration of PNoy. Unfortunately PDuterte is not capable of running the government or not capable to maintain the economic momentum of the previous admin of PNoy resulting to negative progress to all economic sectors of PH. The human rights violations of his drug war killings was unacceptable to the whole world community and his bickering to our allies nations and the whole United Nations was a negative factor to gain support economically. His treasonous act of not standing and do nothing but give the Phlippine rights of ownership of WPS territory to China even to the fact of the favorable case winning decision of the UN Permanent Court in Hague. PDuterte is not an economic leader but he is a self confessed killer, a criminal of crime against humanity, a self confessed bipolar psychopath, a self confessed fentanyl drug addict, a self confessed thief as corrupt government official that wont sign a bank waiver, a self confessed womanizer, a self confessed crook as prosecutor planting evidences of a planted crime and many believed that is why the innocent Senator De Lima is now still in detention. He fooled the 16-million voters of his election promises that even just one of them did not materialize much more his resignation as President within 3-6 months if he cannot solve the drug problem and criminality. His drug war has been proven fake by his protection to the druglords and the rise of supply of illegal drugs coming from China and passing thru his government BOC. The whole Mindanao is still under his dictatorship because of Martial Law extension without valid reason. PDuterte must resign if not impeach, but the function of our democratic way of government has been curtailed by PDuterte of getting hold of influence in the whole Congress as his stamp pad as seen. Our Senate and the whole Congress is now seen as working not for the People of the Philippines but to the personal will and interest of PDuterte. PDuterte had announced he will personally push for the ouster of CJ-Sereno so that he can replace Sereno with his puppet CJ being seen to complete his dictatorship hold as a strongman of the Philippines. Out of 54-Million registered voters only 16-million voted for PDuterte, with his failure and sins as a President he will surely lose in a SNAP ELECTION. The Clamor of the Filipino People is for PDuterte to resign. To Oust PDuterte is to Save the Philippines! This must be done ASAP! https://www.rt.com/news/418255-duterte-dictator-philippines-government/539 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Juanito E. Memoracion Jr.

Tell Congress: Stop a War with IranDonald Trump and his war cabinet just axed the Iran deal — in defiance of experts across the political spectrum. Stop War with IranDonald Trump's assassination of Iranian general Qassem Soleimani in Iraq is widely being viewed as an act of war. The American people do not want another chapter in the endless war in the Middle East with Iran, a nation of 80 million. Congress has not authorized war with Iran, nor assassination campaigns against Iranian generals and militias in Iraq. Yet Trump is running roughshod over Congress, blocking efforts to rein in his war authorities and taking steps that put the U.S. and Iran on a glidepath toward a messy, regional war. This is a 2002 moment for Congress, which must halt a reckless march to war. There are three steps Congress can take to prevent war with Iran: 1. Clarify that Trump does not have Congressional authorization for a disastrous war of choice with Iran. As tensions rise, this becomes all the more important. 2. Pass legislation to restrict the administration from further escalating its shadow war with Iran. 3. Demand Trump return to the negotiating table and invite in international mediators to forestall a rush to war.55,801 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by Jamal Abdi, National Iranian American Council
