AFLAC came to my work place to try to sell their product. The same-sex couples who are married were denied the ability to purchase an AFLAC product that would cover themselves and their family (Spouse and children). They could purchase a product that would cover themselves and the children however because AFLAC had not yet changed its policy the non-covered spouse would have to buy an individual product to receive the benefits. The state where I live passed the Marriage Equity Act in the summer of 2011.

Washington, DC is the only capital in the free world that denies its citizens voting representation in national government. Citizens from all the 435 congressional districts vote for a representative and two senators. Why are we treated differently? I been a cab driver for 3 years. The PPA, the authority that regulates cabs in philadelphia revoked my license because I have used Square to accept credit card payment. No fraud was involved, The PPA insisted that i have to use the credit card machine in the cab. Since I am an Independent Contractor, I do not believe this is valid.
