  • Employment Arbitration Reform
Employer contracts often contain requirements that all parties settle disputes through an artibtration process. The arbitration process is unfairly skewed in favor of employers and businesses who set up and pay for this employment requirement. This reform would place all employment arbitration negotiations and final determinations in the state's Fair Employment and Housing Department paid for with unbiased state funding.

  • Energy companies must be accountable for liability to citizens and the environment injured by them.’
The U.S. House and Senate introduced bills that allow energy corporations to hide from liability when they damage the environment or hurt citizens. These Republican sponsored bills (s2264 and hr4345) provide "liability protection for claims based on the design, manufacture, sale, offer for sale, introduction into commerce, or use of certain fuels and fuel additives, and for other purposes." Tell Congress that corporate accountability is essential to protect public health and the environment, because it encourages attention to these issues in corporate strategic and operational decision-making.

  • Control Oil Costs
As President of the U.S., G.W. Bush took the regulatory cap off of Oil prices in this country. He realized by doing so he could make tons of money for the good ole boys pumping oil from Texas. He also knew that the next president would be a Democrat who would have to try to clean up the mess he would be leaving behind. Well, here we are all these years later still trying to get some kind of handle on the price of crude. Everyone knows there is no explanation for the prices of oil based fuel to be what they are today. It is pure uncontrollable greed that has driven this crisis. The only way any of us will live long enough to see a change to the present prices is to tell our government we MUST regain control and capp the price of oil back to something we can all live with again. example would be .99 cents a gallon for gasoline.

  • Oppose HR 4170
HR 4170 is a bill to have the US Government pay for student loan debt, or to force the companies who have loaned money to students to cancel that debt and absorb the losses. The economics of this just don't make sense! Yes, student loan debt forgiveness would help those with loans, but only in the short term! Students now in school would not be helped. The US Government owes $14 trillion, and HR 4170 wants to add another trillion! Or even to cause companies, who own those loans, to pay for it. The US Government can't afford to pay for college education.

  • Repeal Citizens United Supreme Court Decision
Our representative democracy is under attack from the corporations and super pac interest groups who are able to buy elections. The corporations have now achieved all of the rights of personhood, with none of the responsibilities. Groups with no transparancy of membership, transparancy of money sources or accountability to anyone, can use their economic power to subvert free and fair elections. Multi-national corporations and secret super pacs whose loyalty is not to America or the American people, or the interest of the United States, but to their bottom line and to the self interest of their (unknown) constituencies should not have the opportunity to unduly influence elections and decisions that affect all of the citizens of the US. The Supreme Court erred gravely in rendering this decision and the decision should be over-turned.

  • Protect the Nation's Gasoline from Profiteers
The recent enormous profits of oil companies at the same time that gasoline prices paid by consumers are soaring proves that we have a problem. As a nation, access to gasoline for transportation is just as vital as access to electricity and natural gas, Just as the power industry and natural gas providers must follow pricing rules of the Public Utilities Commission to prevent consumers from being gouged, so should the oil industry.

  • Save Detroit
The city of Detroit is crime infested, with thousands of abandon and burned out homes, in addition to being littered with trash. Currently, we are facing bankruptcy while officials are stealing funds. City employees and administrators should be residents of the city or the positions they hold should be manned by residents who are concerned with the welfare of this City. Join me in removing non-residents from administration and public service positions, it is obvious they are not concerned with welfare of the citizens or the City.

  • Stop Use of TOXIC Rubber Mulch on Playgrounds
Rubber mulch (recycled ground tires) is highly toxic to our children, the environment, and groundwater. It is a profit-making scam for the tire companies, manufacturers, and city governments for the mere disposal of the material at the cost of our children's health and pollution of the soil and groundwater. The EPA, USDA Agricultural Research Center, and various independent studies agree that scrap tires should never be used in gardens or landscaping due to the volatile chemicals they leach that are hazardous to our health and environment. Please sign this petition to let politicians know that we will not stand for our children's play areas becoming a dumping site for this toxic material. The EPA's website says about scrap tires: "Illegal tire dumping pollutes ravines, woods, deserts and empty lots. For those reasons, most states have passed scrap tire regulations requiring proper management." The Hazards of Rubber Mulch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1F3FnQM1dms

  • Demand Accountability
The US Supreme Court has granted organizations the same rights as individuals while refusing to hold them responsible for the most heinous of crimes, torture, in the same manner it would hold a human person accountable for the same behavior.
