The US Supreme Court has granted organizations the same rights as individuals while refusing to hold them responsible for the most heinous of crimes, torture, in the same manner it would hold a human person accountable for the same behavior.

We the students, faculty, and staff of San Francisco State University, reject the further corporatization of our campus. We see the possible corporate management of the campus bookstore as a further intrusion by private corporations into our public university. ALEC has sponsored legislation that, if passed, will result in the privatization of the USPS. The Postal Service is the largest civilian employer of veterans.

Like Bank of America before them, Wells Fargo, who took over all the former Wachovia accounts, now wants to charge its customers a monthly fee. In this economy, we must fight this fee gauging by multi-trillion dollar financial institutions like Wells Fargo. Join in stopping them from this hijacking of our money and savings.

As a teacher in the Mesa Public School system, I know that you can only best serve the kids in your classroom by listening to them. The same principle should apply with Arizona’s legislators. They were elected to serve the people of Arizona and should be listening to us. But, lately, it seems legislators are only giving an ear to deep-pocketed, outside extremist corporate donors who are working through the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) to get their agenda passed. Recently, I participated in a press conference to speak out on ALEC’s extreme agenda. I spoke out because I am concerned with the way outside corporate power, through organizations such as ALEC, is taking over our democracy. Instead of measures to create good jobs and improve education for our children, our lawmakers are pushing radical policies from ALEC such as Arizona’s infamous immigration law, private school vouchers, “Shoot First” bills, voter suppression laws, and anti-worker measures. And while some companies, including Pepsi, Coca-Cola, McDonalds, Wendy’s, KRAFT, Intuit and Arizona Public Service, the largest energy company in Arizona, have withdrawn from ALEC, some legislators in Arizona continue to blindly support ALEC's extremist legislation. Well, it’s time for lawmakers to start listening to Arizonans, not secretive, corporate front groups like ALEC. Please sign my petition to tell Arizona lawmakers to cut ties immediately with ALEC and focus on improving education and helping Arizonans get back to work.

Enacting a law that would license funeral service professional in the same manner that doctors are licensed. This would make them more accountable, and strengthen the profession that is presently free to pray on individuals and take advantage of them in a sensitive time in their lives.

Most on-line purchases, and almost all TV commercial product orders, add on a charge in addition to shipping charges. These can be called "handling charges" or something similar, but they have nothing to do with the cost of getting the product shipped, and are arbitrarily applied based on how much the seller believes consumers will pay. We want a law that will restrict all shipped purchases to charging consumers only the true cost the seller pays to a shipping company for getting the product shipped.

There was never a public discussion nor a VOTE on the events that initiated the ALTERATION of our FARMLANDS to GMO crops. This ISLAND of KAUAI has been DUPED! KAUAI , at present , is still one of the most beautiful places on our planet....and because a group of obscenely rich industrialists want to "play GOD" with the UNPROVEN chemical genetics of our FOOD....they BOUGHT our local GOVERNMENT, and perhaps more. THIS IS NOT A HUMANE THING, and needs to be STOPPED and REVERSED! ( Why didn't they do this in THEIR BACKYARD) I bet their wives and children would think them CRAZY, and end up in divorce!

Every federal and state contract with any company should have a clause that stops that company and its associated corporations from lobbying the government.
