The Norquist Pledge has signatures of 90% of our republican representatives and even a few democrats have signed it. Although it has been around for a long time, the general public has not been educated as to how it really works. The Anti-Norquist Pledge has the right idea but it is not getting to the general public fast enough.

Buffalo Creek, a high quality trout stream in Donegal Twp, Butler Country, Pennsylvania is regularly stocked by the PA Fish Commission and utilized by thousands of people for recreational purposes. It is known as one of the ten best trout streams in PA. Hickey Bottom Wetlands, where Buffalo Creek flows, is one of the diminishing areas of unspoiled land that exists in Butler County, habitat of the endangered Massasauga Rattlesnake and other threatened wildlife. A mining corporation is in the process of making application to the PA Department of Environmental Protection for strip mining permits to mine this land. There are now 3 surface mines and a deep coal mine proposed within a 5 mile radius. Strip mining removes all vegetation, destroys the habitat for all wildlife, removes all topsoil and the underground rock layer, then proceeds to remove coal. The mine will go down into the earth seven stories. The devastation to local wetlands, fishing waters, hunting grounds, and habitat for all the living creatures held within, will not be possible to be reclaimed in the lifetime of our generation. We are asking everyone who lives in or visits Donegal Twp Buffalo Creek to join in protecting the creek and wetlands

Insurance and other companies are now requiring people to allow them to automatically withdraw money from checking accounts. Some companies even require additonal charges if you do not allow them to automatically withdraw. We have lost control of our bank accounts. This could result in overdraft and lack of funds charges. We need laws against this!

To create a Federal law that states no one can have a total compensation package greater than 10 times that of any other employee in a company. Therefore if your lowest paid employee makes $15,000 a year and no benefits, then the highest paid CEO cannot make more than $150,000 a year including bonuses, health insurance, stock shares, etc.

make it illegal for a huge corporations to buy up a company, transfer a huge debt to that company (including the loan they took out to buy it in the first place), and then sell it or IPO it, having crippled it and laid off a lot of the employees and outsourced the work. This not only is devastating for the employees but also shareholders of the company (including employees) who see the value of their shares disappear to nothing. And the CEOs of the corporations get a big bonus and a huge profit then go and do it to some more companies.
