On television and radio, the commercials are routinely made to play much louder than the regular programming. This is an offense to the ears of all Americans and an imposition upon all American citizens of all political bents. A strictly-enforced rule should be enacted to forbid this practice.

Corporations are not people, and the decision to allow corporate interests to fund as much money without disclosure into political campaigns is clearly unconstitutional this decision should be thrown out. More than any other preceding law, this one decision does more to undermine the integrity of our political system and allows corporate interests and their deep pockets to literally steer this country away from "for and by the people" , to "for and by the corporations. I cannot imagine our founding forefathers signing on to something that distorted.

Nationwide, banks are foreclosing homes. Many people are left without homes and are in financial ruin. This petition requests an investigation of the Banks, who purchased "Credit Swaps" against defaulted loans, and an investigation of when and how the credit swaps activated. Furthermore, it requests an investigation as to whether the banks are wrongfully foreclosing on properties, for which they may have been already paid through the "credit swaps."

Currently the public is secondary to the greedy interests of many elected officials. They give corporations tax credits to the extent that they pay no taxes and are actual paid, annually, by the IRS, often to the tune of millions of dollars per company. If politicians weren't controlled by the banks they wouldn't hand them billions of dollars of our money, without our consent, and then not audit the money nor care that the banks still do not loan money to people. (There are clients at Housing Departments in NC that are subsidized a 30% mortgage down-payment by the agency and the agency guarantees the bank that the debt will be paid if the client defaults--and they still cannot get help from the banks.) We would also have much less war if the politicians weren't owned by defense contractors and oil men. Washington is rampant with corruption and conflicts of interest dictate our laws and actions. It is sick and corrupt and disregards almost all of the non-elite. Washington has become a gross perversion of what it was meant to be and we are all paying for it. I would suggest subsidizing campaigns to equalize the candidate's resources so that their only motivation was to cater to the people they are supposed to work for.

Our Country, Our Liberty, Our Freedom, even our Daily Lives are being bought and sold in the hallways and back rooms of our Capital. Big Oil, Big Banks, Big Energy, Big Insurance, Foreign Interests and Super PACs, etc. Dare I say the 1% have in place master manipulators that literally buy our elected officials and their vote. Our Congress is being used as pawns in a fight over power and pure greed with zero regard for everyday hard working Americans.Saudi Arabia said they can pump all the oil we need and theres no real reason gas is four dollars a gallon.Big oil , Big banks are Speculating on oil futures playing the same ole games on Wall Street.putting the screws to almost everyone's budget.The list of issues and the deception for profit are many helped along with our bought and paid for do nothing Congress. With Republicans hiding behind the smoke screen of religion, they continue to push their own sick & twisted agendas. Why does this happen? Because we, the voters, vote them into these positions in office. We give them the hammer to hit us with yet we are outraged when these extremists do exactly what they told us they were going to do. Chase Bank has a 'minimum balance' fee of $12/month for accounts with a balance under $1500, a practice that in many African countries has been deemed illegal due to its discrimination against the impoverished. A person making minimum wage in America only makes $1200/month before taxes. We're calling on Chase Bank to stop robbing the poor and impoverished by dropping the monthly minimum fee.

Vermont is facing a lawsuit threat from Monsanto in regards to a bill that would force genetically engineered food to be appropriately labeled (H-722). The bill has yet to be voted on, but it has the majority of public approval. We are calling on the Vermont Legislature to side with the public and face Monsanto. The people have a right to know what they are eating and where their food comes from. For some, it is an ethical imperative to know how their food was produced as we move toward a sustainable globalized future. We have until the beginning of May to have this bill voted on, at which point the legislative session ends.
