New Mexico's Senate is considering a memorial opposing the United States Supreme Court's controversial Citizens United decision which now allows unlimited spending by corporations in elections. The legislation passed the New Mexico State House on January 31, and if approved by the Senate, would place our state on record as the 2nd state in the nation to oppose the ruling (a constitutional amendment would eventually return to the 3/4s of the states for ratification). Senators have the option of signing on as cosponsors of this legislation, and so should we. President Obama appointed former Monsanto vice president and lobbyist Michael Taylor to the FDA. Anyone connected to Monsanto the maker of the terminator seed, GMO food and seed engineering that has destroyed the livelihood, lives of so many cannot possible "protect" consumers in any food and drug related matters. This reveals the integrity of our president and where his true loyalties run - to the highest bidder and the powers of the corporate world. * This is a classic example of the fox guarding the henhouse. *President Obama should isolate the FDA from corporate influence by asking Taylor to step down immediately.

We need to make President Obama aware of the importance why he should not allow someone like Mr. Taylor to be the senior advisor to the FDA commissioner.
