• Verizon: Enough of the overpriced data fees!
In 2011 Verizon reported earnings that more than tripled as taxes decreased and the carrier attracted new customers after introducing Apple Inc.’s iPhone. Their net income rose to $1.44 billion. Not only is this huge profit increase a result of the iphone's popularity but it is also due to the ridiculously high fees for data plans required to use it as well as other smart phones. People want the service so they pay it as they feel they have no choice. We are calling for people to stand up for their right to have and use a smartphone without having to pay astronomical amounts of money. A single data package fee for all phones on one plan to have unlimited data access is not too much to ask.

  • Do Not Close Bagel Station
Today I have found out that the Attended Bagel Station at our HQ cafeteria will not longer exist, starting Wednesday, January 25. The management has decided to save money by not paying wages to a dedicated employee and forcing us to prepare our own bagels. It is a very disappointing decision, since what Marcia has been doing for years, was more than prepare our bagels. With her we started our day, every morning. That personal touch is something irreplaceable. Please sign this petition to let the cafeteria management know that.

  • Obama and super PACS
In order to confirm Obama's supposed devotion to the poor, working and middle classes. As far as insee he has 3 options; two short term and one long term. Option one and two are to call press conferences either 1. Asking that there be no super PACS endorsing him and 2. That if there are to be super PACS that are pro Obama they should disclose donors and the long term goal number 3. That he uses any and all of his executive ability to significantly dismantle or destroy citizens united

  • Stop Companies from filing payroll Garnishment during the recession
During the past four years of recession, American families have struggled to keep their heads above water. The tax payers have been straddled with the debt of “too big to fail” financial institution bail-outs. They have watched good jobs go off-shore due to corporate sponsored government programs like NAFTA. Wages, benefits and jobs are at a fraction of what they were a few short years ago while corporate earnings soar. Meanwhile collection agencies continue taking much needed money from the shrinking monthly budgets of its targets; those with the least to spare. I am writing this in support of my fellow countrymen who are experiencing financial hardship, largely caused by the greed and misconduct of bankers and corporations. It is time we stand up and let them know that we will not sit idly by being bullied and gouged. We need to discourage these companies and their collection agencies from filing law suits or writs of garnishment. Behaving with impunity they act without mercy toward our neighbors, who are in many instances, barley staying fed and sheltered. Please help me address predatory companies by signing this petition, asking them to cease and desist from filing law suits and writs of garnishment until a true recovery has begun.

  • Help Keep the Banks Family from Losing their Home
A Lincoln, Nebraska family is about to lose their home because the wife and mother in the family has cancer, and they no longer have the ability to make the payments on their sub-prime adjustable rate mortgage. The mortgage company will not work with them to help them keep their home. This is a time to negotiate--not foreclose.

  • Support New Mexico's Small Businesses - Move our State's Money
It is time for New Mexico to take its money out of Wells Fargo and deposit it with our local community banks and credit unions: the institutions that support our local economies statewide. We can make a big difference in our local economy by keeping our money in New Mexico for the benefit of New Mexico's small businesses. It is time to stop sending our state's money to Wall Street and overseas; keeping it in New Mexico is the right thing to do.

  • B of A Stadium inappropriate venue for Obama acceptance speech
It has been announced that President Obama's acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention will be given at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Considering the image of Wall Street, and B of A in particular, as the criminals who got us into this economic mess, we insist that this venue is inappropriate and should be changed.

  • Hidden Agendas Hurt Average Americans
Hidden agendas have caused aweful decisions to arise: the FDA approving GMO's as safe; SOPA being passed; congress deciding pizza is a "vegetable;" the supreme court deeming corporations as "individuals." We need to stop letting our politicians be bought, and instead let them work for PEOPLE'S rights, not corporate interests.

  • Holding Banks Accountable for Foreclosure Impact
Foreclosures and abuses by the Big Banks are crippling our economy. In many cases the Big Banks broke rules, falsified paperwork or defrauded home buyers—and gambled with our homes to enrich themselves. They have yet to be held responsible. Our attorney general has the power to hold the big banks accountable and to provide restitution to homeowners who have lost their homes or whose mortgages are "underwater."
