• Hey Speaker Boehner
President Obama was re-elected because most of us believed he was the better choice. We all need to support President Obama because he is trying to help all of us; the American people.

  • Governor Martinez: Remind city councilors of their duty
In our recent election there was a vote on a proposal to raise the minimum wage in Albuquerque, it was passed by 66% of those who voted. There are two reasons for this petition, one the obvious; the evergaining discrepancy between the rich and the poor in this country, and the dire need for there to be something at least resembling a living wage in the city different. Two, and more importantly the need for the city council to do the job they were elected to do by representing their constituents. If the city council repeals a decision that voters overwhelmingly support it would not only fail the basic premise of that which is the United States 'Democracy' but far worse could lead to an eventual break-down in the political system thus into a potential revolution. I would sincerely ask that you urge the Albuquerque city council to vote with their constituents and not their own interests now and in the future.

  • The Rich Want It All
The uber wealthy are the ones responsible, as always, for the depression we the people are suffering through. But it is always we the people who are asked to bail out the perpetrators. Enough, goddamnit! Keep your filthy hands off medicaid, medicare and social security. None of these are entitlements--taxpayers paid for them with their hard won labors--while the uber wealthy were profiting off illegal wars, untaxed off shore accounts and capital gains at 15%. It is time to make the guilty rich take the fall.

  • Congressional Reform Act of 2012
As an American Citizen it is time to reign in Congress. We are tired of them not looking out for us and only being concerned with their special interests. We, the undersigned, demand action on the Congressional Reform Act of 2012. It is now time for Congress to act on our behalf.

  • President Obama: Take us over the financial cliff
President Obama, I am tired of the obstructionism by the "Party of No"! Do not negotiate with the Republicans--allow us to go over the "financial cliff." By automatically turning around the Bush Tax Cuts, we have a clean slate and can then resurrect cuts for the middle class, and re-instate the social programs we really need, without giving in to Republican whims. Let's vote them out in 2014 if they won't help.

  • FEMA Policy Change for Disaster Assistance
Following Hurricane Sandy, thousands of people have been left homeless. Many families did not have flood insurance an as such are not eligible for FEMA. Because of the severity and widespread devastation resulting from this storm, consideration should be made for the situations of those families who have been deemed ineligible for disaster assistance.

  • Donate your time instead of shopping on "Black Friday"
Americans celebrate all of the things we're grateful for on Thanksgiving. But the very next day is a testament to the opposite, celebrating greed and dissatisfaction with what we don't have. "Black Friday," has become violent in recent years, and people are now regularly dying needlessly. Why don't we continue our celebration of Thanksgiving an extra day by donating our time to helping others, rather than engaging in "Black Friday" madness? Join me in signing the petition, and share your thoughts and suggestions.

  • No Change to Soccial Security and Medicare Age
Most Americans retire by age 62 and with early Soc Sec beneifts. Why because they cant work longer due to physical and also mental changes that have a great deal of effect on employement in a rapidly changing High tech world. And Medciare helathcare cost are lower than for proft private helathcare, so rasing Medicare age increases helathcare costs overall. I have advanced degrees in Chemistry, and also I'm a retired CPA. Yet by age 60 I was hit with neuro surgeries, worn out knees from sports and years of working 70 hour weeks w/o vacation in my own companies. When we had to close down our business after an illness, unemployement for those over 60 was 60%. Living longer on pills, pace makers and etc., does not mean people can work longer and there are simply not enough Wal-Mart greeter jobs! Getting rehired even after age 50 is difficult. Deficit reduction should be about things that add to the deficits, which neither Soc Sec nor Medicare do. They are funded by their own P/R taxes and by law cant add to the deficits Changes should be made at the P/R tax area as Reagan did..

  • Let's get debt under control
The rich paying more through HIGHER TAX RATES, not through other tax concessions only, MUST be the first requirement for developing a balanced approach to the debt crisis. President Obama SHOULD NOT compromise raising the tax rates of the rich; IT WOULD BE VERY DEMEANING TO THE PRESIDENT'S CHARACTER FOR HIM TO GO BACK ON HIS WORD TO DO SO.
