• Obamacare is a real thing
My petition is about how obamacare has directly benefited me, as a 33 yr old full time employee, who got very sick because of a very rich man's actions. I never had insurance because I never had a job that even bothered to offer it to me, although I have been employed since I was 18. I am healthy, with no real reason for a primary care physician or healthcare, just like everyone else my age.

  • People before Profit
Let the insurance companies become aware that paying for medical services is their reason for being in business. Not making the consumer pay more for the services, while C.E.O's give themselves huge bonuses.

  • Access To Birth Control Must Be Protected
The religious liberty of employees of some hospitals and universities managed by religious groups is threatened by attempts (notably by Catholic bishops) to impose their ban on contraceptives on everyone. Some 98% of these employees (some Catholic, more not) use contraceptives and have already made their private and intimate decision based on their own beliefs. Houses of worship should be exempt but not these institutions hiring and serving the public.

I think it is about time our senators and other government workers should pay for their own health plan like we the people are supposed to do, and while we are at it, why should they get pensions for life when we have a hard time making do and bringing up a family when they don't even want to raise the min. wage. It's about time the gravy train is over for them.

  • Illinois Rx Prescription Drug Coverage
Pat Quinn has cut the Illinois Rx Drug Program to help balance the budget. This program helped over 200,000 seniors and people with Disabilities. I am now facing drug costs of over $800 a month.

  • CONGRESS: WE WANT YOUR HEALTHCARE
If one is lucky enough to have a job, and one with health benefits , these benefits are usually lost when we retire. When a member of Congress serves one term, he/she and their families gets benefits for life. Studies have shown that the stress created by simply worrying about lack of healthcare can bring on illness. It is time to end this inequity. Please sign this petition and urge Congress to apportion a small percentage of the corporate profits that line their pockets to provide us with the healthcare we deserve.

  • Thank President Obama for Obamacare
Two years ago, my mother, Rhonda, lost her job. Then she lost her health insurance. She needed major surgery, but was so worried about bankrupting our family with hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills that she waited. She waited until she couldn't hold off any longer without risking her life. The Affordable Care Act (aka, "Obamacare") came along just in time. It saved her life, and has already helped many more Americans get desperately needed health care. And it happened because we fought for it in Congress, online, on the phones, and in the streets. Now that the Supreme Court has upheld Obamacare and its protections, my mother--along with millions of other Americans—can feel confident that they’ll be able to get the care they need. And that makes me very thankful. Let’s join together in thanking President Obama for his work to pass Obamacare and protect the lives of millions of Americans.

  • End Psychiatry, Develop the Adult Mind
I incredibly survived 31 years of psychiatry. A nurse in an emergency room said, Your mind cannot learn on drugs. "Go to 12-step group. They teach the mental tools needed to live in this world and enjoy it." Love empowers bonding and self-abilities. (Self-esteem, and so forth ) It only took me 6 months to change from the terrified child mind to the love-directed nonviolent adult mind. Most people do not survive psychiatry.

  • U.S. Food Supply
Our U.S. food supply is dangerous. Crops are genetically altered. Packaged and processed foods have taken over our diets. This has lead to obesity along with super sized portions and fast foods. We need to eat from the earth. We need to reeducate our citizens.

  • Healthcare reduction costs
Due to the spiraling cost of health care and the coninuing coverage reduction of it for goverment and private sector jobs, I propose that all health care for any elected leader be eliminated. They can buy their coverage on the open market like all self employed busness owners & many of the private citizens. This would be a great cost savings for the American tax payers.I belive this would help drive the cost of health care down due to the fact that NOW our leaders have skin in the game to lower health care costs not only for us the American tax payer, but themselves.
