Quincy was very young when he went to prison. He made a bad decision by hanging the wrong crowd. Family and friends miss him dearly. He has served more than enough time for his crime.

The My People Prison rent program created for released convicts is endangering the West End community and the rest of Hartford's quality of Life. Since the arrival of this prison rental system, theft...drugs...vandalism...and violence has increased due to the presence of the My People Prison rentals sponsored by DCF. Please support the closure of this program and return the use of these apartments for working, tax paying, responsible people.

We want the County of Santa Barbara to build enough residential treatment facilites with diverse services to eliminate the need for unjust incarceration for an estimated 150 persons in jail daily who have mental health disorders. Relocate these persons into residential treatment facilities! Save the County $3 Million per year spend on jail costs!

Law officials are constantly breaking the law whether it be police or judges even DA's. I am starting this petition so that once it's law corrupt law officials get a chance to see how it feels to have consequences like the rest of the American public.

Our brave men and women deserve better from their leaders and I feel we should do everything to garner support among those empowered to improve the current situation. The Senate has taken the cowardly route and stands on the wrong side of history by passing an edited version of the bill which does not remove the conflict of interest in the chain of command that shelters the perpetrators of sex abuse.

According to www.drugpolicy.org the amount spent annually in the U.S. on the war on drugs is more than $51 billion and among nearly 275,000 prisoners released in 1994, 67.5% were rearrested within 3 years, and 51.8% were back in prison. (Langan, Patrick A.; Levin, David J., 2002). What if we could cut that down to 33%? How many lives would be changed? How much tax money would be saved? Drug offenders constitute 48% of all federal inmates, or some 94,600 inmates. Among state prisoners, drug offenders accounted for 17%, or slightly fewer than one out of five. That means some 235,000 were doing state prison time on drug charges at the end of 2011, bringing the combined state and federal total to 330,000. That's a slight decline over a decade ago, but still represents incalculable human costs, as well as easily calculable financial one.” (Washington, 2012). We believe that by requiring state and federal prisons to have a rehabilitation program we can change the lives of numerous inmates by not only rehabilitating them but also keeping them out of the prison system and ultimately saving you, the taxpayer, money.

Herman Smith's conviction must be overturned! Herman Smith, who is serving a life sentence within the Georgia's Department of Corrections, is a plaintiff in a federal lawsuit against the State of Georgia to invalidate Georgia's Stand Your Ground Law. On August 6, 2013 a jury in Carroll County wrongfully convicted him of felony murder. Despite the overwhelming evidence produced by his defense team, led by attorney Harry Daniels, he was still convicted. The evidence brought forward by his defense team is as follows: 1. Stegall threaten others that night with a loaded gun. 2. Many party goers testified that Stegall was waving a gun around. 3. No party goers testified Smith had a gun. 4. Investigator Brian Finley of the Carroll County Sheriff Department testified based on his investigation, that Mr. Stegall intened tatget Dwight Clendon Thomas Jr whom was standing right next to Herman Smith. 5. Stegall was infuriated when he saw Clendon dancing with his child's mother . Clendon and Stegall had an altercation three weeks prior at the same establishment over this woman. 6. Stegall jerked his baby mama away from Thomas and an argument peruse between the two. 7. Stegall went outside to retrieve his weapon to shoot Clendon. 8. Multiple witnesses testified that Stegall had a gun in his hand behind his back as he re-entered the party. 9. Relatives and friends of Stegall testified that they attempted to stop him from re-entering the party, but they were unsuccessful. 10. One witness in particular, Crystal Lay, of Franklin, Ga, testified that Stegall was upset with the mother of his child and she did all could to stop him from re-entering the club with the gun, but he would not listen. Crystal Lay also testified that from the time he enter the club until the time she heard gunshots less than 10 seconds had expired. 11. Defense witness and longtime friend of Stegall, Lanie Henderson, testified Stegall had a gun stting in his lap staring at the dance floor in the direction of Thomas and Smith. 12. Many witnesses testified that there was one shot followed by two more shots which was consistent with statements made by Herman Smith to law enforcement in December 2012. Herman Smith stated to law enforcement that he shot Stegall when he observed Stegall raise his weapon from his side, and he shot him two more times when Stegall raise his weapon toward him again. 13. Herman Smith perfectly described Stegall's gun to law enforcement even before his defense team is given access to the weapon, and before law enforcement displayed it to him. 14. This same weapon was laying out beside Stegall's body. The state of Georgia produced three witnesses. All three witnesses were impeach by the defense team. They were crossed examined and impeach by Harry Daniels to show their statements were inconsistent and in many cases were lies. One witness in particular was the State's star witness Chad Horton of Bowden, GA who told law enforcement that Herman Smith was walking and shooting while looking in the mirror. This testimony was inconsistent with GBI medical examiner whom testified that the shooter had to be standing still due to the locations of the gunshot wounds on Stegall body. It should also be noted that Chad Horton was charged with child molestation and also being held in Carroll County Jail on ten unrelated charges.

I am the victim of a crime and I am not seeing justice. I was raped four months ago and Paterson Police Department has informed me my case is inactive. Past filing the initial report I have NOT been able proceed with my case! Make these men and women start pushing those papers and get my case moving! I want JUSTICE, I want these men STOPPED!!! October 31st into Nov 1st was when the event took place at a local bar in Paterson. On Nov 1st I went to St Joseph's Regional Hospital to have a rape kit performed and make an unofficial statement to police. On Nov 2nd Detective Patterson contacted me for the first and LAST time to try to schedule a date for me to make my official statement. He ended the call saying "I will call you before the end of the week to try and work around our schedules and get you in to make a statement". Since then I have called personally well over 20 times. My grandparents recently got in touch with a detective who states my assigned detective was demoted to traffic patrol and before he was demoted he marked my case as inactive. Now it is sitting stagnant with NO assigned detective and they supposedly are waiting for my rape kit results STILL! The Sane nurse said it would take two to three WEEKS not FOUR MONTHS!!!! HELP ME STOP THESE MEN! They have raped other women and will continue to do so unless STOPPED!!!!!

I want answers for my family and his children. I am his sister. We Live with this nightmare daily and the way we were treated. I have been trying to get someone to listen but its like we don't exist. We want answers. He deserves better than saying he hung himself and they can't even tell us what he did it with. They said bed sheet or mattress cover, but don't know what it was.
