• Petition to enact a system of Presumed Consent of Organ Donation
There are currently over 113,000 people waiting for an organ transplant. Only 28,463 transplants occurred in 2009 while 105, 567 waited for a transplant that year. Over 2.5 million people died in the U.S. in 2007, imagine if they were all registered organ donors. By enacting a presumed consent program, the organ shortage would be eliminated and millions of lives would be saved.

  • Impeach Justices Scalia and Thomas
Justices Scalia and Thomas are supposed to be neutral in their decision making yet they routinely associate with the Koch brothers and Tea Party even echoing their positions. They might as well be wearing 3-pointed hats while on the bench.

  • Expose Campaign Lies
There is a continual onslaught of Campaign lies and misinformation. The misrepresentation of facts by republicans in media ads and by conservative talk show hosts is astounding and there appears to be no concerted effort to expose this.

  • Eliminating All Double Standards
Double Standards are inherently unjust and they're at the heart of our most pressing foreign and domestic problems Even more troubling, is the fact that there is a growing trend for politicians and others to use double standards to address major world problems. This trend will likely continue unless we, the people, begin demanding the removal of all double standards from our foreign or domestic policies. This "NO MORE D.S." would apply to all three branches of both our federal and state governments .

  • End Hemp Prohibition
Hemp is an incredible versatile plant with a plethora of uses including rope, high quality paper, food products, and clothing. As an excellent alternative to cotton and timber, it can easily be grown by farmers anywhere, with a very low environmental impact. Yet, due to smear campaigns and lobbyists of the timber industry in the past, hemp is currently treated as its THC-rich cousin, marijuana, and cannot legally be grown in the United States without a nearly impossible to obtain permit from the DEA-- despite not being a drug. With its incredible potential benefits to the environment, farmers, and the people, the need for hemp legalization is strong. It's time to end the madness, and end hemp prohibition.

  • Ten Year Limit for Supreme Court Judges
When a Supreme Court judge leans to far right or left politically it hurts all citizens of our country. We have in the past seen the extremely elderly judge sleeping instead of listening to very important issues, refusing to retire when he no longer should be sitting on the bench. Judge Roberts, himself, at one time believed no judge should have a life time position as a Supreme Court Justice. That of course was before he became one himself and now the right wing leaning Roberts changed his mind since he is one and now believes it should be a lifetime position. No job other than this one comes with a lifetime guarantee, and niether should this one. In order to keep our country fair and our constitution safe we must occasionally clean house. When a judge asks if he is expected to read the many paged Obamacare health plan we have a problem. When a judge refers to the 'Healthcare for all" as 'Obamacare,' doesn't want to read it ,how can we rely on these judges not to be biased? No job should automatically be a lifetime position and certainly not one that affects all Americans as does the position of a Supreme Court Judge.

  • Oh crap (literally): USDA to privatize poultry inspection?
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) currently inspects all chicken and turkey carcasses for things like bruises, bile and feces before they are sent to further processing. However, the UDSA is now considering a pilot program that would eliminate that inspection and allow private poultry processing plants to do whatever they want. The USDA is holding a public commenting period on this proposed change right now. Please sign the petition opposing the privatization of poultry inspection before the public commenting period ends.
