Push Back High School Start TimesStarting during puberty and continuing through early adulthood, the circadian rhythm in our bodies shifts, making it almost impossible for young adults to fall asleep before eleven P.M. High school start times are not allowing students to get the full nine hours of sleep they need to be alert and aware. By changing start times, we can increase knowledge retention, while also decreasing the risk of sleep-induced car accidents.19 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Sophie Honeyman

Lake Shore Winter Homecoming!Lake Shore Senior High School has had a number of failed dances, but this year our Homecoming Dance was most favorable among students. I believe our past dances, such as the Valentines Day Dance, have failed due to things as simple as its corny name. As a way to fund-raise and promote school spirit, Lake Shore should throw a Winter Homecoming.47 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Saige Flickinger

Stop Joni Ernst's radical attacks on women's rightsChildren deserve to be loved, cared for, and healthy. The Far Right isn't interested in children, just pandering to their base. These unwanted kids born to either incapable or uncaring parents end up on the streets, in prison, or worse. It has to stop.50 of 100 SignaturesCreated by James P Moriarty

Cell Phone Age For ChildrenChildren under 14 should not have cell phones because kids now a days don't know how to communicate in person because they are all about their phones. They barely go outside like everyone used to. It's all about games with kids and it's ridiculous.34 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Samantha McSkimming

A historic time for national policing reformsThe tragic police killing of 18-year-old Mike Brown hit home for millions across the country. The horror of losing a loved one, to senseless, racially-motivated police violence is a daily threat in the lives of Black people in America. Now, national leaders are paying more attention to racial profiling and police brutality than they have in years. Will you join us in calling on the federal government to implement critical reforms to end abusive, militarized, and biased policing targeting Black and brown communities?65 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Rashad Robinson

Why has Terri Lynn Land gone underground? It seems that representative democracy is on the wane in the United States and is being replaced by advocacy groups with unlimited funding. To have a candidate like Ms. Land refuse even one debate with her opponent means either she is incredibly scared to air her views until after being voted into office or she simply does not care about the voters at all.40 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pete Sutliff

Let Veterans Decide On VA Medical CareEvery veteran has a horror story (or several) about delayed care, bad care and abuses by VA staff. In light of the recent scandals and the number of veteran suicides it is clear the VA is outmoded and less than helpful. Do you remember the Vietnam Era Agent Orange denials? How about the Gulf War Syndrome denials? I have been waiting over a year for a replacement knee and had to write my Senator (Debbie Stabenow) for help. Finally after a year and a half, I will get a civilian surgeon and get care that is long overdue. If you are a veteran, or know a veteran, you will be familiar with the mistreatment of us by the VA. Please help Veterans get the care they deserve by signing this petition. Thank you15 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Robb Nortier

Tell Christie to Prioritize Homeowners Over Big Banks! In the background of Chris Christie’s aspirations to run for President are thousands of New Jersey homeowners who’ve been tossed aside in favor of Wall Street and the Big Banks. In fact, the foreclosure crisis in New Jersey leads the nation – and the Christie administration has favored the desires of the banks over the needs of New Jersey residents. Several big banks have negotiated large settlements with the US Attorney General’s Office for their role in the housing bubble and subsequent economic collapse – but homeowners in New Jersey and around the country have not benefited from these agreements. While the historic settlements sound promising on the surface, a study by Denbeaux & Denbeaux law firm exposes why struggling homeowners shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for relief. The report, “Mortgage Fraud” finds that New Jersey homeowners were stripped of their legal rights by back room settlements between banks like Wells Fargo and various state Attorneys General. New Jersey homeowners were sent a settlement agreement which contained promises and protections they already had and a check in the amount of $178.04 in exchange for all their rights and defenses! The result of the legal acrobatics and out-of-court settlements has essentially let Wells Fargo and other big banks off-the-hook for their predatory lending practices in low-income communities of color. Wells Fargo preyed on these communities then negotiated away the rights of homeowners to take legal action. Homeowners deserve their day in court – or at the very least, enforcement from the Office of the New Jersey Attorney General. Join NJ Communities United to demand that Chris Christie and the State of New Jersey report results of mortgage settlements, release assurance reports required by settlement agreement(s), enforce homeowner protections according to state laws and the original agreement between New Jersey & Wells Fargo, and enforce & enhance homeowner protections & predatory lending laws!
