• Expose the NRA (National Rifle Association), for inciting domestic terrorism in the United States...
Aren't we all tired of these mass shootings &, those who are truly responsible walking away free? Join me by signing this petition to President Obama to set up a commission to investigate the NRA exposing the money trail through the lobbyists they send to Washington with cash to burn selling out America’s safety so weapons manufacturers can make money off of the blood of America’s children. If we don't protect our children, who will?

  • Fireworks, short term celebration, long term public nuisance
The time of year that I and many, many others might enjoy the most has now become an any night, any time, selfish invasion of explosions and pyrotechnics. People with rudely awakened and scared kids, terrified and trembling pets in need of medication, elderly and/or people battling illnesses who need their rest, veterans with PTSD, and fire dangers all deserve better consideration. A common sense solution for a lack-of-common-courtesy problem.

  • Don't let Governor 1% Squash the Middle Class
For 5 years now Governor Christie has cut taxes for the rich at the same time he cut services for the rest of us. The result is soaring deficits, reduced credit ratings, and un-employment higher than New York, Pennsylvania, and 40 other states. It is time to reverse course and ask those who have profited most by his policies to help those who have been hurt.

  • Sign and send the petition: Demand FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler hold public hearings on net neutrality
In the past few weeks, an overwhelming number of comments have been filed at the FCC in favor of protecting an open internet and real net neutrality. Despite this, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler has not scheduled large, public field hearings. Before Chairman Wheeler considers passing rules which could end net neutrality and open the door for pay-to-play lanes, he should face the American public by holding large, open public meetings across the country. In addition to voices from the grassroots, FCC commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel has indicated her support for more public input. Rep. Mike Honda issued a letter inviting the Chairman to hold public meetings in Silicon Valley. Further, Senator Pat Leahy took matters into his own hands and plans to hold a public field hearing for constituents in Vermont on July 1. Join the voices calling for Wheeler to hold large, open public field hearings. Sign and send the petition to the FCC demanding the Chairman come out and face the public support for real net neutrality.

  • Governor Jay Inslee: Protect Washington State Small Business from the Tyranny of L & I
Our small family owned construction company is being ruthlessly and unfairly pursued by L & I for $38,000.00 in unsubstantiated underpayments, interest and penalties. We have never missed a payment, never had a claim and followed the direction of our L & I account manger to the tee. Still, there is little or no recourse for us other than extremely expensive legal counsel which we are struggling to afford and who have informed us it is doubtful we will win our case. We will be bankrupted, our seven employees will lose their jobs and our satisfied customers will be hard pressed to get their projects completed. State agencies like L & I should be responsible entities helping small business to thrive, grow and support the economy not destroy, defeat and undermine honest, hard working Washington citizens which clearly, using us as an example, they are hell bent to do.

  • Please don't gut Maui's workforce housing ordinance! We need it!
I am a hard-working grandmother. I have a good job, I work hard, I raised children and grandchildren here on Maui, I try hard to save, I pray and I play by the rules. But for me and almost every family I know we cannot afford a house or a condo. We are all being priced out of our island, and in another generation many of our local families will be gone. Protecting our workforce housing ordinance is the least we can do to try and keep Maui, Maui.

  • Say NO to allowing a gun shop and firing range to be located near Niles schools
Niles is considering allowing a gun shop and 22-lane firing range to open within walking distance of Niles West High School, New Hope Academy, Lil' Kickers and Jump!Zone. Guns have no place being this close to where Niles children learn and play. Ask our Mayor and Trustees to say NO by signing this petition and showing up at the zoning board hearing on July 7 at 7 p.m. (Village Hall, 1000 Civic Center Drive).

  • Give felons a second chance!
I am personally affected by this law. I have a possession with intent charge from 1991 and a obstructing justice charge from 2006. I went to addiction treatment and returned to school to earn a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and I am currently in my second year of working on my Master of Science in Counseling. I have worked hard, as others have, to change my life. I am so frustrated because after all of my hard work, I am still unable to gain employment because of my record. I have paid my dues and proven that I am rehabilitated!

  • Dr. Chargois, It's Time to Quit Fighting
He is hurting the community and the students by continuing on this path. His malfeasance and lack of concern are appalling. I'll let the community give more details in their responses to this petition.

  • Petition to Stop the Sale of the Facilities Services Greenhouse
Due to budget cuts and a deficit estimated at 12-14 Million USD, UAF has decided to discontinue its use of the Facilities Services Greenhouse in favor of selling it at auction and using its former footprint as a staging area for the upcoming powerplant renovation. Instead, due to its considerably greater value outside of the standard economic model, we propose to relocate it within the campus to increase student access to locally-grown produce and educational opportunities.
