• Romney's core beliefs
Romney cut the hair of a youth he believed was gay at the prestigious school he attended. He was a senior and the youth was a junior. Romney had a cohort from the wrestling team hold the young man down while Romney cut his hair as the young man screamed. Romney claims that he doesn't even remember the incident and it wasn't punished. Today Romney would be charged with assault with a deadly weapon, possible kidnapping as the boy was restrained and a number of other possible charges. As such, I would like to know what he feels is an adequate legal response to assault and bullying today? Was he engaged in so many such assaults that he fails to remember this one? And how does this transition to his current beliefs since he has been such an outspoken opponent of gay agendas lately. As a person who cares about the LGBT community, I feel this must be addressed. I do not feel Romney has changed from his previous bullying lifestyle, but has only changed techniques and tactics to accomplish his goal of denying the LGBT their rights. I would really like an answer.

  • Indiana Adult Protective Services Not working
Indiana is the only state in the union that does not comply with national standards that the states were supposed to follow when this Federal law was passed. We have documented case after case where seniors are not being protected by APS. The neglect and exploitation of seniors in Indiana has stop. One case that was investigated by our APS was a 80 year old woman who lived in a small town. The person who had Power of Attorney hired two neighbors to be her caregivers who were inexperienced. The APS Investigator said she was fine. A couple of months later she was taken to her doctor with what the caregivers described as rug burns. The doctor immediately had her transported to an Indianapolis Burn Center where she was diagnosed with severe scald burns. She died two months later in a nursing home and there was no investigation.

  • Call them on their lies. America deserves the truth.
I'm tired of hearing Romney and Ryan lie. And I'm tired of hearing moderators and talking heads ignore their lies, and go on with the program as if the lies and the truth are equal. Americans are not stupid. We demand the truth. We demand that when someone lies, you call them on it--then and there. Otherwise you are contributing to the destruction of our government and our country.

  • The bill content petition
I'd like to create a petition to limit bills being proposed in the House or Senate to contain only material related to the main concept of the bill so that poisonous unrelated junk can't be added before it's considered for passage. Ex: birth control coverage added to a farm bill. Each issue should be considered separately and passed or rejected on its own merits.

  • Unable to Govern...They should resign.
How can a legislator that signs a document promoted by a lobbyist and vows to NEVER raise taxes, be fit to govern? They have compromised their ability to come to reasonable solutions for the nation's problems. They have, in effect, given up part of their ability to govern by signing an agreement sponsored by a non-elected official. The inaction by Congress has hamstrung the function of government. Signing such a document without legal review should be a crime.

  • MITT ROMNEY SHOW US YOUR TAXES
I strongly believe that each and every candidate should present their taxes to the public. So far, as I can recall, all candidates have provided several years of taxes. Mitt Romney requested eight years for his VP candidates. This year, he underpaid his taxes in order to get to a certain rate he campaigned on.

  • Free Speech at Town Hall Meetings
Paul Ryan's constituents have a right to be heard in a democracy. Public town meetings must be required and people must have the freedom to speak at these meetings without being arrested. He should be denounced by Boehner and Romney for arresting his own constituents for speaking their mind.

  • A Constitutional Amendment to Abolish the Electoral College
Abolishing the Electoral College will halt in large measure the rising tide of regionalism in the U.S. and assure that the vote of every American voter matter equally, no matter in which state they reside. With this antique mechanism gone, it also likely that potential electoral misconduct would be largely eliminated with the dissolution of the concept of the "swing state."

  • Romney: Where are your tax returns?
After dancing around the issue for months and releasing one more return and his accountant's "summary" of others, the American people are being asked to vote for this man.

  • Faculty in Support of UW's Graduate Students
(Please post your department in the "Comments" section. Non-UW faculty members, please sign our complementary petition at http://signon.org/sign/response-to-uws-fall instead.) We, the undersigned faculty members, wish to express our grave concern over the continuing lack of resolution of the fees dispute with the graduate student union. Graduate students have brought to our attention the fact that the independent arbitrator’s finding in favor of the union several months ago has still not been implemented, and this delay has caused serious financial hardship for our students. We greatly value the work that academic student employees perform; indeed, the University would quickly cease to function without it. Moreover, recruitment for next year’s class of graduate students, actively underway right now, will be seriously harmed if this matter is not resolved promptly. We urge the immediate resolution of this pressing issue and look forward to seeing the graduate students’ employment contract upheld in a fair manner.

  • End Veteran Homelessness
The Deed of 1888 needs to be upheld and the Supreme Court has said that it is unenforceable. The Deed provides a home for veterans on land now used only as a hospital. 400 acres of land left for vets that is being used for profit. In a city with more veterans than anywhere else in the USA this is unacceptable. In this election year please let our President know that you care that the Deed of 1888 is enforced.
