  • Felony Expungment
I was unfortunate enough to get a felony a few years ago for a dui. Although, I understand that I have done wrong and may have potentially killed someone, I believe that my felony should be expundged from my record after 7 years providing I haven't had any recent infractions or even any sort of speeding ticket. The fact that this felony was designed to change the life of someone who deserved it is very real. I have lost more of my life because of it and honestly it makes me not want to live. In all reality all this does is make me want to do the "wrong thing" more. Society demands that you rehabilitate and make yourself a better person but very unwilling to give that chance. I myself know from experience. I have been in school since around 1998 and the best job I could find was one that I was burned constantly, cut, and even litterally burned my eyes at times, and for what, 12.00 an hr. I have been in school for 15 years trying to make myself a better person only to be pushed down and pretty much descriminated against. After 15 years of schooling and being a good person, volunteering for charitable events, being a volunteer fire fighter, being active in our community emergency response team, and doing other various things for my community I still have nothing. I have also been seeing a psychologist since 2006 to help me understand why I did what I did. I have several letters (upon request) from pillars of my community, my probation officer and a sherriff. I would like to have a family someday but I see with the jobs that I am getting I won't be able to raise a child correctly and honestly. Nor will I ever get the chance for a real chance at life or freedom. I know what I did was wrong but I'm asking and pleading, please give me one more chance at living a full life free and clear. At the age of 32 I believe there is still much good I can do for myself, my family, and my community.

  • Justice for the Richmond Chevron Refinery fire
In the wake of the August 6, 2012 Chevron refinery explosion, thousands of Richmond residents ended up in the hospital with respiratory problems, burning eyes, and rashes. Now Chevron thinks they can spread around a little bit of money and get off easy. Well we, the residents of Richmond, are fed up with Chevron failing to put the safety of its workers and Richmond residents first. Chevron needs to be held accountable for the harm they have done to our community.

  • Second round of voter purge in Florida
The first round of voter purging wrongly informed hundreds of legal voters in Florida that they were ineligible to vote. Governor Rick Scott seems to be planning a second round. Can you sign our petition that lets Governor Scott and Secretary of State Ken Detzner know that Floridans are against any measures that would prevent eligible voters from voting?

  • Michele Bachmann: take back your slanderous remarks about the President
I am a Minnesotan, and was outraged when I heard that Michele Bachmann claimed that President Obama was responsible for the attacks on U.S. embassies in Egypt and Libya due to a policy of "apology and appeasement." We are demanding that Bachmann either justify her statement or apologize for her outrageous claims.

  • Student Loan Forgiveness for the Permanently Disabled
Student loan debt is crushing to those who are permanently disabled. They are unable to work due to their physical condition, and yet most banks and lenders STILL expect them to pay their debt. I personally am a 25-year-old Cystic Fibrosis patient who has been unemployed for four years due to my health. I am legally listed as permanently disabled, and have been on the lung transplant list for almost two years. But when I applied for loan forgiveness with my private and federal loans, I was DENIED. I will never be able to pay these loans, and when I die, which will happen even if I do get a lung transplant, I do NOT want my grieving family to have to pay the debt that I could never pay. Student loan debt should be FORGIVEN for the permanently disabled population.

  • President Obama and Congress end punitive earnings limits on retired and disabled workers on Rail...
I am a retired and disabled railroad worker. I am limited to earning no more than $740 per month. Should I exceed this amount by even $1 I lose my entire pension for the month. There are not many part time jobs available that will allow me to work within this limitation. This is true for all railroad workers as well as disabled and retired persons on Social Security. It makes no sense to limit workers earnings as they would be taxed on those earnings, their increased spending ability would help to support local business and help to support the SSI fund. I worked for 30 years in the Railroad industry and earned my pension. It is Draconian to limit my further ability to earn in retirement and demeaning to watch my family's life style suffer.

  • Cancel "Swamp People"
Demand that the History Channel stop glorifying animal abuse with shows like Swamp People. Reptiles are hunted down in their own habitat and murdered by a shot to the head. They have no chance against a bullet. The cowardly humans are then touted as being "brave" with mean looks on their faces. Gators are also dragged behind horses. Please sign this petition and boycott the History Channel until it cancels Swamp People and other animal abuse shows. http://www.history.com/support

  • Increase Adjunct Professor's Pay
Over half of all colleges and universities use adjunct professors to teach America's students. These teachers make very little money, many work full time and most work one or two other jobs in order to continue teaching. I work full time at a community college teaching sociology and make $14,400 a year. I have to work nights and week-ends at other jobs to continue to teach. At my college, our Spanish teacher, with a PhD, works nights and weekends as a bartender. We are not considered teachers but contract workers; our "offiices" are cubicles in the library. Why would our students ever want to be teachers?

  • Overturn Citizens United: Get corporate money out of politics
Get the Idaho State Legislature to pass a resolution calling on the U.S. Congress to pass a constitutional amendment that reverses the 2010 Supreme Court's Citizens United decision. Corporations are not entitled to the same constitutional rights as people. Regulating political contributions and spending is not equivalent to limiting political speech.

  • voter disenfranchisement
Make you voice heard! Disenfranchising voters on the pretense of stopping voter fraud is just another way of "fixing" the election. They can spend their $billions, BUT they must stop YOU from voting to get the Whitehouse and the Senate. Write to your representatives at the State level and let them know there will be serious consequences if they don't oppose this fraud.
