Presidential Candidates Should Debate DC Rights in DC!D.C. rights, including the right to federal representation, control over our own budget, etc, is a huge issue missing from the Presidential debate and narrative of the elections. We need someone in the White House who represents ALL Americans, including those of us living in the Capital! The Presidential candidates should discuss this issue in a public forum.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Brittant

Tell The Government to abolish the internshipThe internship has become a way for corporations and businesses to take advantage of young middle class college grads. They have the same responsibilities as a job but for zero dollars. The only people who can do them are middle class college grads who are being subsidized by their parents' retirements. It's time to force businesses to stop taking advantage of these kids and create some entry level jobs.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Matthew Cetta

No More Seniors SS TAXAs you work throughout your career, you pay into social security. When you retire, you are taxed for a part of that income. When you have to return to work for extra income, you are again taxed toward social security, even though being retired already, you will never again be able to increase your social security benefits. I believe that seniors who have already begun drawing on their benefits, but find themselves having to return to a job for any reason, should not be taxed again, nor should they have any part of their earnings in jeopardy if they earn "too much", (i.e.- having to pay back $1 for every $3 earned past the alloted annual amount). None of their annual benefit should be taxed again.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Diana Sammis

Increase Commuter Parking at ODUEvery day that I come to campus I try to park in garage C (the garage by the Ted). And every day I see people on every floor circling like vultures to find that one person that's leaving. The same happens for garage D. Our other options are parking in the back of campus, right off the water, or parking over to the side of campus, which are very long walks. And when an event happens, we are all screwed; floors get closed off and we have nowhere to go. We were told that the increase in metered parking (garage B) was a result of demand, but every time I've gone in there it has been close to empty. The same goes for the faculty garage next to it (garage A). There are a lot of commuters at ODU, and we need more commuter parking NEAR CAMPUS.103 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Ashlee Sawyer

Native American Day of RemembranceNative Americans were stripped of their country and their basic rights long ago and forgotten. They should have a national day to remember that they were here in this country first and they were good stewards of the land and lost everything including their lives trying to maintain their lifestyle before it was taken away by immigrants and greed.140 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Irene Krumwiede

No Eminent Domain for Private GainKeystone XL Pipeline and TransCanada are pushing through private property while landowners and protesters chain themselves to bulldozers. They need help and support. Having grown up in the California suburbs, riding horses, I'm intimately familiar with what happens to land when there's money to be made. Anything goes. It's devastation and desecration.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by [email protected]

How can you not help "Save Lives from Road Rage?" Road Rage Kills!According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), road rage is defined as "an assault with a motor vehicle or other dangerous weapon by the operator or passenger(s) of another motor vehicle or an assault precipitated by an incident that occurred on a roadway." Road rage requires willful and wanton disregard for the safety of others. According to American Automobile Association (AAA), 1,500 men, women and children are injured or killed yearly and constantly increasing by 7%. -My daughter, Diyamond, age 20, was killed on the highway going west bound on I96 due to road rage. Our legislator, local, state and federal political officials, have the chance to send a strong zero tolerate message of this behavior through legislator's Road Rage Laws... The time is now to assist in saving lives.26 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kay Foster-Shabazz

Jim DeMint: Apologize for comparing Chicago teachers to "thugs in the Middle East"Senator Jim DeMint of my home state of SC seems to think that hard working teachers in Chicago are acting like "thugs in the Middle East" when they stand up for their rights. As one of his constituents, I demand he apologize to the people who dedicate themselves to educating the next generation of Americans.106 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Melissa Block
