Justice For Jasmine TharDear MoveOn member,On December 23, 2011, my goddaughter, Jasmine Thar, a 16-year-old African American, was shot and killed while in my mother's front yard in Chadbourn, North Carolina. When the shot rang out, Jasmine was preparing for a routine shopping trip and doing what most teens do—texting. Two others, my niece and myself, were also injured in the shooting. The 23-year-old Caucasian male who fired the fatal shot from the house across the street was taken in for questioning, but he has not been charged with a crime of any kind. Because he claims it was an accident, the police let him go—despite the fact that he admits he fired the shot and police found a Confederate flag and Nazi literature in his home. The message being sent is that you can shoot and kill someone like Jasmine and get away with it by simply claiming it was an accident. That can't be the world we live in. That's why we created a petition on SignOn.org to District Attorney Jon David, Attorney General Roy Cooper, and Assistant District Attorney Chris Gentry. The petition says: We demand justice for Jasmine Thar, who was shot and killed. Three months after the shooting we still have no answers. We urge you to sign this petition to demand a lawful, thorough, and unprejudiced investigation from the SBI and sound judicial decisions from Columbus County District Attorney Jon David and ADA Chris Gentry.11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Lillian G Martin

schools in the state of georgiaI was diagnosed with a learning disability just because I struggle in math and some of my daily living skills by my school and I feel that the diagnoses has prevented me from getting the job that I want to get into. I had to drop my case with my voke rehab person because he wasn't doing what I asked him to do. The reason I would like you to sign this is because I feel that schools need to do a lot of paperwork before they can diagnose people with a learning disability and schools also need to let the parents get involved with what is done to their child1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by raymond lombardi

Stop Killing Dogs - Euro 2012 UkraineDue to the upcoming soccer EM this summer in Poland and Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities have decided to give the city a better picture for sport tourists—by killing harmless dogs and other animals that roam the streets throughout all the country. Some were even burned alive. Although the EM is over, still a lot of animals are killed in pounds like the one in Charkow in order to improve the city's image This inhuman behaviour must be put to end right now! Sign this petition to help thousands of dogs in Eastern Europe.160 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Parker Stewart
